WOW well note to self wont expect any great economy with my setup..LOL

 

Also Stu did you rebuild your 5K before putting EFI on it etc?

 

I am rebuilding the 5K I'm using so ill have to see the difference.

 

Also Your D5 being analogue for the TPS does it jsut sense on or off or the whole range of movements? Just curious as if it is analogue like a 4K-e ECU well there can be huge improvements there to improve economy.

 

Also what compression ratio do you run in your 5K?

 

But all in all NICE setup would rocket in a KE11 and would of been easy to do a loom adn fuel lines as KE11 so easy to get to all wires etc.

 

Also I take it you run a battery in the boot now?

No the engine wasn`t rebuilt when i efi`d the 5K. But was reringed and a cam put in it when my boss had it.

i finnished and drove that for 2 1/2yrs and put about 10,000km on it then it was ready for boost. I`ll put forgies in it When it decides it needs them. Comp is from what Madrolla68 tells me"as i was tooo lazy to measure myself" is about 8.2:1 static. Thats using std 5K bowl top pistons with a 4K flat top piston cyl head.

T.P.S i think only tells it to get off idle circuit. But not too sure.

Yeah webers4x48 wired in the D5, its 10 wires from memory.

The battery is in the boot as the KE-1x bay is too damn small

Yeah i have a heap of pics from the EFI conversion. I have to get my phone to syc with my pc. Or find the sd card adapter. hopefully tomoz.

 

Si, Thats out of the rolla thought you were talking about the rota at first. If gearing is same as mine i sit on about 3,400rpm at 100km, which is on boost and just when cam kicks in. Not a receipe for good consumption. :hmm:

The charger i just paid for the frieght etc.

Also, can you direct me to where SC12's can be purchased from for the cost of freight?!

 

Anymore updates on how the setup is going? New ECU yet?

Ha yeah cheers for the b'day wishes.

Not such a long shot have a fair few updates on the go. I'm sick of the car bump steering so bad it prob looks like I'm drunk, so thanks to mr nobbler I'm going back to ke-1x strut bottum and lifting the front about a half to an inch and bringing the lca and steering angles a bit nicer.

Oh and going from 5kze to 5kte using a t28 bb turbo and stupid build on engine.

Maybe a colour change and retrim if the budget allows.

No pics as yet but will get em up while Ive got time off.

You really need to get a decent vid of this beast before you pull it down again, it sounds nuts! 20b crossed with a NASCAR!

Ha yeah The guy doing exhaust manifold came bolting out of his shop thinking it was some boosted small block v8 rocking up. Get into what with this time of year I'm waiting on laser cutter bloke for my car and radiator bloke for the dirty datto.

I have been enjoying it a fair bit more last couple of months it still puts a huge grin on my face.

Well I've pulled the 5k out of the rolla and the bores look overrated. So I can keep it STD bore and keep a bit of strength in the block. So now the new setup will be:

motor:

5k

sps forged pistons

spool conrods

o ringed block

arp head studs

big dollar cylinder head

 

induction:

28 series roller turbo off jdm s15

custom steam pipe exh manifold with 38mm tial external gate

custom alum inlet manifold

haltech e8 or e6x ecu

 

other goodies:

relocated alternator to other side of engine

custom catch can and overflow.

 

Let's see how long the import k50 and STD diff last at 25+ psi haha.
