just picked up my second car today, a KE70.

I bought it for 750, no RWC, no reg, off a good friend of mine. he originally bought it for his daughter to learn on, but never got the time to get everything done, so it got sold to me!!

car is in great condition. there is NO rust at all. My first car was a 1600 datsun, so I know what rust looks like!! ive been over every inch of the bodywork on this thing, no rust whatsoever.
it has a few dings, dents and scrapes, but nothing bad. I'm over the moon with the bodywork.

the ol 4k has done 360,000 or so now, so its pretty rattly. when me an my brother were just mucking around with it an hour or so ago we discovered an intermitten starting issue. as is, it wont start

and nothing would convince it to. maybe because I tried sliding it a bit on dirt...

anyhoo. apparently all it needs for RWC is steering rack ends, new front brake hoses, new pads and new axle bushes. My current ''project'' is a 92 suzuki swift GTi, which i spend all my pay packet on, so this car will pretty much just be my daily driver. First of all i just want it rego'd. after that I'll look at a new carby, rebuild/replace the 4k (which dyou think would be cheaper?) then do all the typical JDM mods. kings superlow springs, dished 15's with stretched rubber, fender mirrors and quad front lights. and a nice audio system. Oh, and boso style pipes

oh, and a woodgrain steering wheel!!

as I said, just a nice daily. i have the swift for racing/touge/embaressing fords and holdens. this will be a comfy car to drive to work!

i mean engineered and road legal. most will say I'm a dreamer but honestly can it at all be done?

I'm not the biggest fan of turbo cars as fun as they may be the rumble of a v8 always gets me
i was thinking of doing this to my mk2 cortina which is of similiar weight, but come on, in a ke20 it would be the sweetest thing.

i know i can't legally put a engine bigger then a 2.0 in a ke20 and me wanting a 5.8 is a massive ask.
but if i was to only use the body of a ke20. for example, use an ford xe chassis, with a ke20 body and cut the chassis to fit.
anyone know of such a thing? IN AUSTRALIA not america. i don't want links to an rx7 twin turbo v8.

Some of you may previously remember my project ke70 sedan.

after seeing so many ketos rolling around i couldnt help my self to purchase another.
enough with the chit chat here it is.

Just picked it up tonight of tim from here can't wait to get the goodies flowing into it.

1982 ke70 panelvan
2 doors of fun

4k 5 speed

xt130 lcas for that gangsta camber

2 1/2 blocks in the rear sits too high.
electronic ignition
Hilux head lights
tacho nd stoof.

So this is going to be my daily/ fun car for a while and should be fun.
a few things going to be done to it first which include :

New radiator ( old ones seen better days )
leafs reset 4inch*
new dish wheel + dildo shifter installed.
tunes
a set of 14x7s or wider.

thats about it for the time being, probably end of this year / start of next year i'll take it off the road and either sr20det or 4agte for sure. but thats future plans.

When I picked it up (yesterday) the car looked like it has never been cleaned since the day it rolled of the showroom floor. So I spent all yesterday arvo pulling the seats and rear wagon mat out (the same stuff a furniture removalists use to keep furniture from being scratched

) and gave it a good vacuum out, would have done more today but it is raining

Bought it off "old fella" on here.
I had been looking for a few months before i found one i was keen to buy.
It has a rebuilt engine, with a 25/65 cam, new exhaust etc. Was by far the best ke i came across in my price range.
I wont be going all out on this car as i have a 78 XC falcon that takes up the majority of my spare time and a 77 120Y datto that takes up the rest.

At the moment the plans for the old girl are-

Lower it- using pedders low springs and pedders short travel shocks.

Paint it- This wont come for a while as i need to get the Xc and datto out of the garage to get the keto in to paint it. I'm tossing up between doing it white or the original cream colour, easy to work with, cheap and looks clean but is boring and common, or emerald green, harder to work with as its metallic and will require more body work to get it straight enough to look good and will cost more, but will stand out more and ive never seen a ke70 in that colour. Only time will tell which option i take.

Tint it- No explanation needed.

and over time might "jdm" it

ie fender mirrors, quad lights etc

Another thing i am looking into is the chrome bumpers, but i don't have a spare 600$ for a set, so i measured up the dattos bumpers and the front its the exact same size and the ugly black ones on it atm, and i can pick another 120y bumper up for next to nothing so with a bit of work might be able to get it to fit on. Which only leaves the back bumper to figure out, as the dattos one is way too small to fit.

When i went to see her for the first time, i pretty much fell in love, even though she looks pretty ratty.
Was thinking about a name on the way back and couldnt come up with anything. So i put my ipod on shuffle and the first song that came on was "Strange kind of woman" by deep purple.

Nice song about some bloke spending every cent he had on a girl he love, but was a prostitute. Her name was Nancy.
thought it kinda fittied because this pano is also a rolla club slut haha and i plan on spending all my money on her.

Anoher trip to toowoomba seeled the deal. Drove it home down the warrego with its 4 speed screaming the whole way, good fun

Got it home and played a game of spot the rust with my dad

lol another great memory.

All in all quite happy with the buy, thanks sleepercorty.

Ideas:
I have been joking with my dad about getting a mattress cut to fit in the back, and other stupid shit like a larger mirrow fittied to the inside roof, above the bed. haha would be cool, probally not practical. Who knows might give them a shot.

Was also think about some black and red widend stockies. if i decide to keep the rat rod look.

The possibilities are endless

Picked this up in my new hometown of Cairns. It’s a 1979 KE55 Corolla. It comes tinted, lowered on Kings / Monroes, with some nice 16” rims, fully resprayed in the original colour of Kingston Blue. It’s got the stock 4K with a 3sp gearbox. First carby I have owned, and first RWD for that matter

Here it is.

I don’t have any interior shots on me at this minute, but will update that later.

I haven’t done a lot to it, but I’m in the early stages of planning what to do. I have put the boss kit on it, run a tacho, air:fuel, 12volt, oil temp / pressure gauges. I’ve been trying to track down a 4AGZE/SR20 for it. I might also be looking at a 5K, and if anyone has a 5K + gearbox please let me know.

My main and first plan is engine. Other than that, I will endeavour to tackle some of the minor rust bubbles, central locking, new diff (probably a hilux of pintara diff) exhaust (4-1 headers into 2 ¼” pipe).

I've been trolling the yahoo.jp auctions for some aftermarket option parts for the KE55, but I'm not 100% familiar with the parts list for the KE55. If anyone wants to track something down from Japan let me know, as I work with a guy in Japan who loads freight for JDM parts for me to distribute. I do this at no extra cost or profit, more of a hobby.

Ill keep this updated with my progress.

my daily is a RA40 liftback. at first when i bought this car i was really dissapointed

it conked out every time i stopped, it was gutless, uncomfortable, no power steering and just crap.. i havn't really done much, but so far i put a cortina webber on it, extractors with a 2inch pipe and a high flow muffler (sounds so old school), i got MA61 rims all round with 235s on the back and 215s on the front and took the mud flaps off, MA61 seats and a phat dildo shifter

dad and i also took all the emission control shit off and the air con came out. now it's comfortable, doesn't conk out, sounds SO good and goes a little bit better.

I'm new here. Got my 1994 Corolla AE101 Seca CSX a week ago as I needed a reliable daily. I chose this particular car because of its hidden prowess. It has a fairly fresh tiwin cam 4AGE 20 valva (aka silvertop) It was a nice surprise to me that it also came kitted with the interior for a corolla trueno/sprinter which feature much nicer sportier seats that are so damn comfy which make my everyday commuting a pleasure.

Here it is as I bought it, It was also lowered with lovells lowered springs:

And the 20V which has 90,000km on it, strut brace is a nice little bonus as well.

Here are some more pics with some new 17" rims I bought for it, they have Federal 595 fitted up front (205/40/17)

Plans for it so far:

- Get some decent speakers for the rear and wire them up to an amp.

- Get a 2.25" press bent exhaust system made up in mild steel with a high flow cat, resonator and lukey muffler (want it to remain fairly quiet)

- Buy some extractors for the exhaust and get it dyno tuned

- Fit a 3A pod filter and design an airbox for it with a cold air feed from the front bar.

Beyond that it doesnt need much else.

Finally got my P's round december last year.. yet to loose them earlier this year...

Ive got an 1993 corolla manual with 189,XXX on the clock, which has been lowered with 15's on it...

Doesn't look too bad but iv'e always had my eye on a ke20..

Inside is stock as a rock.. although have put a full Alpine system ranging from head unit, 2x 6" with tweaters... 2x 6x9 in custom parcel shelf amp and sub...

The car didnt come with a tacho so i went a got a stock cluster from u pull it and fitted that in it...

Thats about it..

Thats right our family has become the proud owner of a KE70 lol now we have a collection of cars

Its got a stock 4k and is 4 speed, it was owned by and old lady for years then was sold of. We bought it off a guy who got it from her and is in excellent condition back seats look like they have never been sat in lol !jamie.gif

The plans are to fix it up and give it to my sis for her first car so stock pretty much none of this engine conversion stuff sorry guys but maybe a set of mags if aloud to lol

Dad has already come home with a bag of goodies(the basic stuff battery, ignition stuff, oil filter, air filter etc plugs and other stuff coming tomoz and later) for me

but i guess thats what i get for being a apprentice mechanic lol

so this week ill take it to work get a rwc and then do lots of work so that i can get it on the road
