  1. wheel spacers that just sit between the hub and wheel are illegal in all states i know of you can get bolt-on spacers engineered, but these are usually quite thick, you'd change the wheel offset so much you'd be better off looking for front wheel drive steelies, perhaps from a honda or excel or something
  2. i don't understand, revving to 11000rpm works in the cartoons, why not in real life? :lmao:
  3. pull the leaves off and have a look? don't get lowering blocks, that's the wrong way to lower leaf springs call a suspension place and get your leaves reset, much better
  4. Go to the wreckers and look in boots of R31s and Pintaras for the steelies. Skylines will be 15", Pintaras 14". You'll need to space the Skyline 15s out about 10-20mm, as they hit the brakes on a stock KE3x/5x/7x. I've never tried Pintara wheels. Pictures here: http://wiki.datsun1200.com/index.php/Wheel You can also get steelies made up, with any size band (width) and center (PCD) you like. Call a drag racing engineering place, look in Street Machine magazine for ads. They won't be cheap though, you could buy 15" mags for less.
  5. the tracks probably would be different, look how different the designs of the dashes are, many things are in different locations or do you mean the tracks for say, the fuel gauge on the first dash, don't go to the fuel gauge on the second dash? i dare say you'd need a good wiring diagram/map (perhaps a haynes manual, they're usually really good) and alot of patience
  6. what an amazing car, words cannot express the amount of drool literally pouring from my mouth i can't believe it's actually road registered too, it must be so much fun! :)
  7. K gearboxes do not have a separate bellhousing
  8. neat little ke20 you've got there dude  i look forward to see where this one goes!
  9. what a rad little car, it certainly has no problem getting sideways, the body mustn't know what's going on  not sure if you're aware, but you can fit a 9" slick under the back of a ke20 without tubs, they used to be quite popular as a cheap drag car in the 90s
  10. no offense, but in my opinion, 25 grand on a corolla is a waste of money i think you'd be better to buy something that's actually fast to begin with, has a decent factory suspension and lots of aftermarket parts available. you'd get so much more value for your money, and a way better car for your intended purpose at the end of it
  11. yeah, just unscrew them. maybe take the carbs off the engine, or at least stuff rags down the throats, you'll likely break the screws in half, and you don't want bits of metal ending up inside the motor i always ran a rich idle, and had high intake velocity, so never needed a choke. i took mine off too there will be almost no difference in anything, if you can't be bothered, you may as well just jam the choke linkage open with a piece of wire or a spring and leave it at that
  12. Anywhere on the intake manifold.
  13. and the award for most cramped engine bay goes to... :jamie: i'm not a fan of the front end, though the bodywork does look like it took a large amount of skill. with the tacky sideskirts it almost fits, but i can't help but think it must look awfully strange on the road. not what i would do to my own car i do like the amount of shine under the hood, and the aircon is awesome! straight little body too one can't help but think there's an awful lot of work gone into this car (eg: dash and column) for... no real reason?
  14. what a neat little van, it must be quite the sleeper around town. props :jamie:
  15. try adjusting your float level, sounds like the intake jets may be starving of fuel. the floats themselves may even be old and perished and holding petrol you also might want to make sure fuel isn't leaking out the top of the carby. if so, time for a carby kit. sounds like that may be a good idea anyway a factory manual will have the procedure for taking the carb apart, and what the float levels should be and how to adjust them
  16. I met this dude and this car on the weekend. Looks like a nice little ride, minimal rust and lots of potential :jamie:
  17. what a tidy little machine. thanks for sharing :)
  18. no, ke30 spring diameter is too large, and the base bolt pattern is different the only strut which fits ke10 is ke10 you could change to entire ke20 front end if you like however this would take a bit of custom work to get the crossmember to fit, and you would NEED to connect a swaybar somehow
  19. saw this in my local paper today hahaha  http://www.northernstar.com.au/localnews/s...condsubsection=
  20. well, a v6 isn't really one of the best suggested motors either that being said, there is a ke20 at my old hillclimbs that has a 350 chev, and it turns fine, so it is do-able however, you'd want to develop the suspension to be *better*, not worse, as it would be with torsion bars :) best of luck
  21. reach into the crack between the seats, pull the base up and forwards, it will pop out. there are then two bolts at the bottom of the rear, which you have to undo, then lift it upwards
  22. batman, consider yourself warned. one more post in your continuing fashion gets you banned
