  1. Thats him. He won Targa West just before last years Targa Tas. Never rocked up to symmons for hot laps. Col - Nah never met Paul Darko. What does he do for targa, drive or some sort of official etc. I do all of the audio visual for the drivers breif, hot laps, media breifs and corporate bits and pieces as an event partner.
  2. Been there, done that. In the same gravel pit as the first jump vid actually!!..... http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...31527&st=30
  3. hahaha mine have been known to bounce off the road and come up another half a metre (dump tip). Lighting up tunnels is also great fun.
  4. It had a cable attached to the back of it to start the rotation. I wondered how they did it without a "Reece Millen" kicker.
  5. I drove dirt to the exhaust shop to get the system put in with only extractors. hehe talk about strange looks from pedestrians!!
  6. Chuck a "wanted to borrow" add up on ar.com and I'm sure somebody could help you out.
  7. I realise you're new here..... so please familiarise yourself with this page.
  8. + a custom cross member.... or the auto and manual ones welded together.
  9. I's put my money on a converted auto.
  10. Huh? Tony Quinn (VIP) WON last year! I was supposed to be going in another one (ther was 3 or 4 racing last year) Somebody Jones from memory,
  11. Pretty much the same as my system, except I have 2x resonators in EACH primary. Have you noticed if its blowing flames while backfiring yet? Take it for a drive on a dark (obviously at night) country road. I used to be able to light up 50 odd metres of the road behind me blue! :D
  12. That'll do for now Mick. I'm running a S1 5 speed behind my 13bbp at the moment. I'd be more worries about what diff you're running than the gearbox.
  13. I work on Targa every year. Mainly the corporate stuff but still get to see a lot of action. Also get some "Hot laps" at Symmons Plains every year. Really hoping I'll get a ride in a new GTR this year..... was supposed to last year and that guy never showed up so I got put in a Maloo ute. We also have rollaclub cruises through Targa stages quite often. :D
  14. Can I also suggest that when you get a new head gasket to spend the $80 odd on a genuine toyota one. You'll be able to see how much better they are than generic re-pro ones.
  15. Pretty sure that pic is on one of the earlier pages. Still - Wall of death and a lion in a side car...... you can't get much cooler than that! >|
  16. That would be the front end of the gasket. They have block out holes at the front and bigger holes at the back to try and promote coolant flow through the back of the head. Otherwise the water flow will just take the easiest path at the front and straight out the thermostat.
  17. Deffinately tune. If you had stuck valves you wouldn't have got 180psi on the compression test, it wouldn't have had any comp. Dual webers/dellortos/solexs can be pretty tempremental if not tuned correctly. You can basically think of them as 4x seperate carbys. Hence having them all tuned in sync is imperative. The more you can spend on some tuning then the better it'll be, ideally you want a dyno tune.
  18. I did an FAQ write up on how to adjust the tappet last year. >|

  20. Has it got an extra shift position to the left of 1st gear? If it does its a park position and its a TQX import RX5 box.
  21. Yeah. I'm implying he should contact Endevour.
  22. AFAIA RX4's only came with 4 speeds (unless it was a Luce). So you migth have an RX5 5 speed with an RX4 BH.
  23. Is it just a 4 speed? The top pic of the "early GB" Darren posted is a S1 box. The S2 and S3 ones have the shifter up above the output shaft in the same sort of position as the S5 box. >| FYI - another thing to bare in mind while chosing a box is the clutch you're going to use with it. All of the early boxes up until FC's use a 8.5 inch clutch and flywheel. FC onwards have a 9.5 inch clutch and flywheel. Your 12a would have a 8.5 on it. If you don't want to have to change the flywheel (big arse nut and 230 odd fp of torque!) then you can run a S4/5 turbo box with the 8.5 by using your RX4 BH bolted to a S4/5 turbo box (yes it fits) and a clutch plate with the right spline for the S4/5 box.
  24. Don't waste your time with one of the USB-serial adapter from Wolf. I spent $180 on laptop cables and still can't get my laptop to connect. Got given another laptop with a serial plug in it so I'll be attempting to connect that soon.
  25. Yeah they're the ones from Endevour Engineering in NZ who made the K SERIES group buy ones. We paid around $480 each for those. Oh and remember - Engine is not included in auction just the three pulleys ,& capscrews & BELT. >|
