  1. ^Not a bad idea to have a manual as said above. But you are on the right track with bending the tap to level it. :P
  2. Some of the things you've suggested like porting the head, o/s valves and a bigger cam will give you some more performance..... but these mods will also reduce your drivability which is something you noted. Upgrading the carbs would be my first suggestion. As KENut said a 4k head will drop the CR on a 3k unless you shave it down to 3k specs. Jono - Yes a 5k is a direct bolt in. :P
  3. Didn't watch all of it, don't have time...... but is that the one that won an Oscar!?
  4. Remember to lift with your knees! :D
  5. Most states only allow 20mm total track increase but you need to be 100% on what it is in your state.
  6. Does it still work ok with guidecoat using dry paper?
  7. Unless you work out the trick of locating the tang for the oil pump! :D Insert dizzy in correct position (disregard oil pump line up) Push it down as far as it'll go - Should sit up 5mm or so. Push down on top of dizzy and turn motor over by the crank pulley - This turns the dizzy (off the cam) but not the oil pump. You'll then get less than 180* rotation before the dizzy tang drops into the oil pump drive. Bolt down dizzy after setting timing Drive. :D
  8. Anybody need cheering up?......
  9. I did see you comment about this last week owanf and was waiting for a reply about it. How would you then sand primer to remove the orange peel before painting?
  10. So thats why they're so chewy!!! :D

Good to see you've got it up on here now mate. Always keen an eye on what you're soing on club-K :D
  12. Have you actually had a look in the FAQ?
  13. Has the battery also been sitting for 6 months? :D
  14. No. Use the search function and I'm sure you can work out why. :)
  15. Long time no update: Wicka wicka...... Took Byron for his first trip to the dragway for Tassie Nats last weekend. He seemed to love watching the cars go by. Was getting a bit scared at some of the sub 8 second supercharged cars as they thundered past and would have a bit of a winge, I was putting my hands over his ears but then he was also hating being restrained. Borrowed the above ear muffs off a mate shortly after and then he was loving it. Had him sitting on the fence in the pits about 10M from the start line and he wasn't worried at all.
  16. Not getting fiesty. We're (mods/admin) are just getting a bit sick of people like yourself who sign up only to sell a car on our free website (ie your 0 post count)!..... and hence fill our car for sale section with non-toyota crap like this.
  17. If you're not doing a bare metal re-spray then you basically want to "roughen up" the existing paint a bit before priming it. Just use some 400-800 grit dry paper to do so. Prime then wet rub with guidecoat.
  18. Checked for vacuum leaks?
  19. Hey mate, I think I can speak for the whole of rollaclub when I say we are sorry to hear of your loss, regular member or not. I personally can somewhat understand in what you're going through. My little boys was born in May last year at 27 weeks gestation and weighing in at 795 grams...... http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=30619 Life for him was very touch and go for the first few weeks with breathing difficulty, going on and off CPAP and ocilator ventilators. I can't however imagine how we would have felt had we have lost him..... I almost feel like crying typing this now. Most of us here are pretty compasionate sort of people so hopefully somebody else can help you with your request. I would most deffinately help you out but my location doesn't really help. I really don't know what else to say at such a difficult time in your life...... I suppose 2 hours to have known and loved is better than to have never loved at all. RIP Abigail.
  20. ;) I've got an endevour gilmer kit (thats my engine bay in there trademe add) and I can tell you they will still allow the use of a stock engine fan, they were designed to do so.
  21. Non-toyota shit boxes now have their own section, hence this is being moved. ;)
  22. Considering both motors have pretty much the same sort of mods the 5k should be more powerful than the 4k just because of its bigger capacity. Saying that though a ke70 would be a little bit heavier than a ke55 so you might find the that performance of each CAR is very similar. Let us know the outcome in 3 months I suppose! ;)
  23. Yeah its the little clips and circlips that the sycros slide on that are the real killer. Changing the rear bearing wouldn't be too bad. The front one on the other hand needs the whole gear set to come out first to get it out through the back.
  24. There's a bit of an art to an effective port and polish. Its the sort of thing I would probably get a machine shop to do so I know its done right. If you grind away material that you shouldn't, you could open up a water or oil gallery which mean the head goes in the bin. You won't hear ME say this too often ;) , but your best performance upgrade would probably just be to drop in a 4AGE, ZE or TE.
  25. So did you knock off a fair bit of time at night in the cold air?
