Wheels look hot!

Project 'whatever The Hell I Want To Do To It Something Rather'
Taz_Rx replied to RA28GT's topic in Rides - non-Toyota
Also known as "RA28GT's forum" -
Yeah sorry I don't no what I'm talking about twinspinna..... the RX in my username is purely corolla related. .....did you happen to notice my signature? Did it sell on Ausrotary Troy? Might have to have a trawl in the rides section there for it.
-
What are they made from? Urethane? You might have to get some made from scratch. See if you can source the urethane from somewhere and them take it to a brass-ware stock and see if they can turn them out!?
-
 ^^^yeah dave said "you don't want back pressure" and then proceeded to explain the scavenging effect of why you do want back pressure.
-
Nothing but the gearbox itself mate. Easy as. If you've still got the 29 year (jeez thats scarey that k'sevs are now that old!!) old clutch in it, it might also be a good opportunity to change it.

If you want to try and extract some extra power from the bottom end balance the hell out of everything like Philbey said. Spool are now making 5k H beam rods for $595 a set. Don't see why you couldn't use them in a 5k. BIG cam and <7000rpm doesn't really add up. :) Oh and forget the 180 holley, there's so much better options out there!

Please have a search. Thing to look for are flipped one leaf and inverting the eyes.

Like jono said, you'll be paying way over a grand for brand new sidedafts. A brand new manifold will also cost you around $300. You can get a second hand set with a manifold for around $1k, or a single sidey with manifold for $250-$500 'ish. Like jono also said, you won't see the true potential of the twin unless you do a few other mods like extractors and exhaust, cam, increase CR etc etc. For a stock or mildy worked motor a down draft weber would be fine. If you want interceptor looking wheels I believe R31 skyline wheels may fit the bill. Ke20's are 4x110 and ke55's are 4x114 so forget the peugeot wheels. Now. Please go and fimiliarise yourself with the FAQ and search tabs up the top. We have a wealth of info already here, you just need to go and find some yourself.

If your points are open up enough that can cause the needle to jump around a bit.

Here's a new one on ebay.... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RADIATOR-TOYOTA-COR...=item2ea6e2eb71 Its also an auto one so it will have the trans fluid cooler in the bottom of it.

 ? Don't think anybody in the TASSIE section can help on that one mate!
-
Just convert to a whole AE86 diff with the rear discs, then you can slot in an LSD too! Coilovers is a whole nother kettle of fish.
-
I tried to tell ya!! :lolcry:
-
Can do if you want. Would want around $300 for them though as they've got relatively new rubber on them though.
-
:lolcry: Actually it also depends on how the intercoller piping has been done as the weather it'll fit. Go have a look at mine and try and work out weather it would. Mounting was pretty easy. Rad cost me $80 off a mate. As for cooling ability, they can keep a 3.8l cool, so do you think it will struggle with a 1.6L? ;)

Makes your efforts look a bit lame doesn't it!!! :lolcry:

Unlocked to add my 2c....... TWF#14 How many god damn threads do you need to start relating to K series heads. Its really getting a bit old. You never seem to have the patience or understanding to use the search function, you always want to be spoon fed. Personally in my eyes Evan is an angel compared to you. At least he has the courtesy to abide by the forum rules. From now on if I see a thread started by you about a K series head for whatever reason I'm just going to delete the whole thing regardless of weather it has your answers in it or not. ;)

One of the boys from CAI was telling about Casey new car he was working on.... so he must have something. I can remember as much as it was a JZ powered beast, just can't remember weather it was an Aristo or a Chaser or something. Edit: Mark beat me to it. All good mate. Its not going anywhere. Should be home working on Tar as of around 1600-1630 tomoz if everything goes to plan.

You should be able to fit a commonwhore VN-VR'ish radiator like mine. The inlet/outlets are still in the same spot as a stock K aren't they?

Few small updates: Fitted my Tomei chrome molly pushrods a few weeks ago as I sold the stock A12 ones as part of a solid lifter conversion with a cam. I kept the packet with the part number on it in case anybody is keen. Haven't driven the car in nearly 2 months as the turbo was a bit too smokey. Have been trying to find one as seen above since. I have actually just ended up buying the T28 of Daim that I had on my car a year or so ago. This will hopefully do me for the next 6+ months until I can offord the GT2560R. So I spent the weekend pulling the engine bay apart. Now have the T28 back on the manifold and everything ready to go back in. Plan on having an early afternoon tomoz and I'll fit it all back up again. Also borrowing a pully puller off Ke20rolla (thanks mate) so I can also re-fit my Gilmer drive. Last round of the Tassie drags is on the 1st of May which I'm trying to get the car ready for. Hopefully I can crack a 13...... might end up winding more boost in until I do. :lolcry: Oh and I discovered yesterday that (always assumed it but was never sure) you can bolt the T25G .49 housing straight onto the S14 T28. As soon as I realised I was scratching my head for a little while trying to decide weathert to use the .49 or .64 on the T28. Ended up going for the .64 for the legs it has in the top end. Will see how I go on the 1st and then I might change my mind again. ;)

Good choice RE J-port and front cut. ;) Get it sussed with the stocko setup/turbo and then you've got plenty of upgrades down the track. Stock diff would just hold up to the 13bt on standard boost and sedate driving so maybe get the motor fitted and running, then upgrade the diff...... then go for 200+KW. :lolcry:
-
Didn't I hear you bought an Aristo or something Casey?
-
Tar's all pulled apart at the mo, new turbo is on the manifold. Everything is ready to be re-assembled, which should hopefully happen tommorrow arvo! ;) Actually on track for the 1st May.

Huh!? The S4 was twincharged as you mentioned but its predecessor the 037 was only supercharged.
