I would highly reccomend putting some form of wire or something on them. I have a habit of sitting the bonnet pins on the bumper bar or scuttle panel and forgetting about them. Have lost 2x set on Dirt now!!! :( However Tar has some like....
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SPARCO-RACE-CAR-BON...A1%7C240%3A1318
Which are great as you can't loose them.
FYI, if all of the bracing is busted on your bonnet this will cause it to ride up a bit at 100kmh+.
Considering its still not running 100%, I would be more inclined to fit and aftermarket ECU first.
If you take it to somebody to be tuned (just with new ECU) that can do some + pressure mapping for you, then it'll be a whole lot safer for your motor when you do fit the turbo. :(
Or do it all at once and get it tuned properly ONCE.
I vote NOT to just fit the turbo now though. :)
I have some Meridian Motor Sport flares on my '55, which are only the small 1" version. They also come in 2"and 3" for the genuine SLR look! :) So covering the wheels won't be a problem. :(
Couple of quick randoms.....
Merc Vito. 18"s, lowered, respayed, modified R32 GTR front bar, $25K+ of ICE, leather interior etc etc etc....
......and whats that in the front. :) Looks like an EVO 7 4G63!!! :jamie:
^^^^ :hmm:
There's an o-ring on the body part that goes into the gearbox.
Would take about 5 minutes to replace it, but you'll have to drop the GB oil. Alternatively you might be able to park it front down on a steep hill to get the oil in the front of the GB enough, but you couldn't jack it up on that angle. Depends how low your car is.
Also shouln't cost any more than 50c to fix!!! :P
Not cheap as mentioned Glamour Girl. :hmm:
Tas plating service (across the road from Churchill Park parts world) do chroming up here.
A guy who works there even has "the red slut" 4AGZE KE55. :P
^^^^ Agreed. :hmm:
Deffinately use a "single-hex" socket as mentioned above. With a big breaker bar....... and a old matress behind you!! :(
Oxy torch (gas-axe lexxi :P ) + Alloy head = hot puddle!!!
Oh and maybe also give the head of the bolt a light tap with a hammer, not to the point where you damage the head of the bolt though. Sometimes the jolt will give thread a bit of a free-up. And soaking it in WD40/CRC etc might also help.
hehe, good reason to work for a company who's a major sponsor and gets a free entry each year! :P
I gearing up for next year. I'm a little concerned though about the comment Eric made something along the lines of..... "If you've got a car you've had for a long time don't take it in a race like this". :hmm:
Diddo, I've got a set of 5x 95% tread Potenza semis at home as well. I want some 15"s to clear bigger brakes, but don't have the coin for soem big - offset ones that I would like.
So what should we lock in, the Saturday or Sunday????
I think maybe Sunday again would be better.
Went and watched it last night.
Very cool movie for any car/targa entheusiest.
I did have to feel a bit sorry for him after having the same car for 25 odd years and seriously crashing it.
....oh and I was in the movie for about 1.5 seconds!!! :D
Good to see you've got wheels again. :(
....bet you wish you never sold Nick's old 2 door!?
BTW, sell the bent '70 shell back to Ben for an "Orb MkIII"!!! :P
Its still straight enough to use as a bush basher isnt it?
