If you wanted to, get an AE-71 radiator. The outlets are on the correct sides and all i needed to do in my ke30 is redrill the holes on one side and use an length of angle on the drivers side.

I believe the 55 and 30 tanks are different. I think the 55's tank has the sender built in to the centre part(where the hoses connect) but the 30's tank has the sender on the drivers side. That could mean that a 30 sender may not work/work properly in a 55 tank as they are located in different spots. And vise versa.

If you supply 12v's to the plug that goes onto the fuel sender, with ign on does the gauge move? If so pull out the sender plug it in and earth the sender to the tank or body somewhere. Then move the sender and see if the gauge goes up. If both of these don't work. If you have a multimeter with continuity tester, Run a wire from the plug(externally) up to the dash, then stick the two probes one one the wire(which is connected to the plug from the sender) to the corrosponding wire on the dash. If it beeps the wire is fine so you can rule that out.

Check all your fuses and make sure u can't twist them I had the same problem with my fuel gauge not working along with the reds. It turned out that the rear demister fuse supplies power to the cluster.

My coil-overs have been welded onto the Xt130 struts with adjustable damper shocks. (KYB AGX) can't wait to ty them out.

Looks very nice mate well done on the buy.

Here ya go fellas. Its from the gregory's book 184 1978-1981 KE55 All Models Should be the same for ke30's. Page 1 Page 2 Mods if a link would be better. Edit away or i can for you??

Yeah for sure The diagram is actually for a ke55 however it seems exactly the same to me. There is these too diagrams but they are a little but hard to read. You need to download em and zoom up on them. http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~bradw/Wiring.html Well i finally worked it out. After staring at the back of the dash working out were all the circuits go and intergrate with what. Using a ke55 diagram and everyones help, i traced it down to the fuse panel. Now what everyone was saying is correct, if i earthed the charge light wire it would light up. However it wouldnt for me untill i found the Broken(not blown) fuse. Its the old circle type which when checked it was together, then i pull all fuses out again and all the caps pop off them showing me where they are broken. Also i have no idea why or how that if i give the L wire from the dash 12v's +ve the light comes on. Just thinking how could it possibly earth if the other end goes to 12v IGN?? For Future References: With KE30's and 55 prob even 20's the 12v IGN source for the dash lights and gauges comes from the fuse which also runs the demister. Weird Hey???

Hey guys, Hopefully you can help me otherwise i'll call sideshow/the witzl for a visit. I'm having a problem getting the Standard Ke30 Charge Light to work with an Internally Regulated 4age Alternator. I have read Witzls diagram on installing one of these, however it doesnt seem the same. From what i can understand, testing aswell as looking at a ke30 wiring diagram for the loom, that the Charge Light works only with a positive supply of 12v from the engine bay(Old externally regulated plug). I have turfed the regulator and now I'm using the two wires of it(Charge Light and Ignition Wire) I ran a new sense wire along with two +B wires straight to the battery using fusable links inbetween.(also why are fusable links no good?) If i connect the Charge light on the dash directly to the charge light terminal on the Alt it doesnt turn on. I guess this is cause it needs a positive 12v not an earth which is what the alt puts out(From my understanding) Now i have tried putting in a relay to create the positive 12v's. (Using standard Relay) Relay diagram as such: This still doesnt work. However if i earth the wire going to the alt L terminal the charge light does come on, indicating that the bulb isnt blown nor a fuse. So You guys have an idea what I'm doing wrong? Could it be the Alt is stuffed? I have tried another Alt but they are all second hand. thanks guys and gals, Adam

Cool nick. Me and my brother are building a ke30 with v6 TT / single T drag car, fully tubbed, cage, and not much else. Good luck with it mate.
-
Maybe you could look at wiring diagrams for cars with fuel light. eg ae82 ae92 and adapt something similar. Its a great idea though. Will be good to know for an efi setup.

Umm were did you get that from cause DAMN that looks good.

I'm doing a coil over for my ke30 4agte. just organising the parts atm. I'm doing the hilux/pug/corona setup(see toymods) and putting coilovers on. Much like josh's ke30 1ggte. I have no idea on how that will effect traction. Maybe you need wider tyres or mini-tubbed?

Wow how clean is that engine bay. Ill eat bacon and eggs of that.

Well i was going to have a look underneath but couldnt be bothered to jack it up. So i had the backseat out already and felt around underneath. Felt a rubber plug and thought, yeah that must be for drainage....Pulled it off and theres a thread underneath. Woohoo thanks heaps guys.

Hey fellas, Just want to know wtf is going on here. I have a ke30 77 model. The front seats are they old vinyl, good nick, but need some bucket. My selt belt clip (The part which holds the belt in) is bolts TO the seat on the side. I'm buying some new bucket seats just want to know, where do i put the old seat belt. clip. The new buckets don't have a hole for the belt. Well not that I'm aware of as i havent bought them yet. I also noticed that some ke30 and ke55 have the selt belt bolted through the floor. What going on here guys?
