  1. but wouldn't that be wrong, biblewise? sex out of wedlock is wrong too, isn't it? true?
  2. i believe we are the aliens, the introduced species. why else would we be so dumb and focus our lives on something so stupid as money and meaningless posessions, and anhilating everything else on this planet? funny thing though, is i think there are other smarter aliens out there....when they come, they'll eat the fat ones first. LOL!
  3. why would he want to paint it? nobody would be able to see it then....
  4. no, i think he means 38/38. they are to big for a 1300cc 4k. a 32/36 is still even on the large side.
  5. so nice, would have to be one of the nicest cars i have seen on this forum. i love mk1 escorts.

tell him to keep them, nice and original looking. looks good as it is. if anything change the colour. really hope he isn't going to be a dumb sheep...
  7. it doesn't have one of those fast idle vacuum pot type things? some carbs use them to slowly reduce idle speed to improve emmisions. download and read this (1.8meg) carb tuning guide.

my favourite would have to be the yellow ke30 with the chromed steelies. tastefully understated but tough. :) what rims are they...corona rt104? suit it really well. reminiscent of 12 slotters.
  10. he will get more money back on resale than some modified car with many thousands spent.
  11. i wish i hadn't. lol.
  12. "Bad Boy Bubby", stands out as the dodgiest movie i have ever seen.
  13. LOL, that cracked me up. he has the younger generation of drivers pegged.
  14. if you constantly monitor your rear view mirror you would see someone like that approaching anyway. the outwards visibility of the car you are driving makes a big difference. a lot of newer cars have really thick C pillars, and high boots which reduces visability a lot, and make mirror reliance more critical.
  15. i'm not sure about the rods. myself, i have a couple of sets of late dished 4k rods (from jap import engines), but they are not quite as thick across the beam as the set of 5k rods i have. download the ACL piston catalog.......
  16. look at a mitsubishi galant 3/4" non boosted dual circuit master cylinder. they will bolt straight up with a little filing. my ke16 came with a subaru boosted m/cyl. bolt up. can't remember the m/cyl diameter off hand, would have to have a look.
  17. yes, both a 3k and a 4k (and 5k too) use the same rod and crank bearings. they all run 18mm little ends on the rods. you would just have to relieve the 3k block with a die grinder to clearance the crank and rods. yes, as you only have to account for half the extra crank stroke. not as strong as a 5k rod though.
  18. not quite. a 4k block is around 10.5 mm taller than a 3k block (3k and 4k share the same pistons). if you were to put a 4k crank and rods in a 3k the pistons will poke 10.5 mm out of the top of the bore at top dead center. the 4k crank has 7 mm more stroke. ie, the crank has 3.5mm more throw above and below the crank centerline.... also 4k rods are ` 7mm longer. if you were to build a 3k blocked cheater motor with a 4k crank and rods, you would need pistons with a lower 25mm pin height as compared to the standard 35.5mm pin height to account for the 10.5 mm extra from the longer stroke crank and longer rods.. with a 4k crank and 3k rods you would need pistons with a pin height of 32mm.
  19. are you primarily after looks or handling? if you want a big improvement in handling, fit a swaybar first. so long as your shockies are ok, you will be amazed with what a whiteline swaybar and sticky tyres can do for a ke1x. if you want to lower it, you will need to consider resetting the leaves. this can be fiddly...i met a guy who had 4 goes to get it right. the puny coils do very little, you don't even need a spring compressor to remove them. you can remove the leaves and fit stiffer coils (cut or lowered ke20). this improves handling (so long as you have a swaybar), but it is hard to lower the front much. the spring perches are just too close together. coilovers would be the best setup, if you have a bit of spare cash.
  20. wonder why they paint radiators black?
  21. you are still going to be running with the drawthru LPG system?
  22. i think it is just fnackered. how long since it was last rebuilt (if ever)? maybe throw some ATF in it to get a few more weeks/months out of it...
  23. the twin aisans aren't a bad setup when running right. they will give more grunt in the low to midrange than a 32/36 dgv weber, and have similar top end power. twin aisans came out on ke15/17 sprinters, and some ke25 SL coupes, also they were on ke35 SR coupes. they were fitted to K-B and 3K-B engines. they give heaps more go compared to a single stock aisan on a modified engine. SU's are nice all round carbs. probably down on top end compared to twin sidedraft webers by a few percent, but give better all round flexability, drivability and economy, SU's are better suited to a driver. sidedraft webers are best suited to competition engines, where you are going flatout most of the time. dellortos are almost identical to sidedraft webers but have better designed progression circuits, so offer a little better drivability. with their fixed choke design, these type of carbs work best over a narrower powerband than other carb designs.
  24. google "mercedes gullwing" probably be a bit hard on a ke35 with no window frames.
  25. why not be even more original and fit gull wing doors. :P
