Sc14/12 Supercharger On A 4k
camerondownunder88 replied to [email protected]'s topic in Engine Conversions
Sigma aircon will also work. The clutch on it is a nippon denso unit. Clutch on most asian air cons is nippondenso all run similar/same bearing size so lots of pulleys will work. Sigma has 2 types single belt fit no mods. I got a dual belt pulley off sigma needed machining to fit but bolt I felt wouldn't go on enough so I ditched it but I could of machined more off it I suppose. So jsut look for aircons..lol trial and error. Also before you ask I have seen SC14 run upside down flat normal etc on all different cars so before you ask can run it any way you want to really. Just the air line in it measure boost but also keep air pressure on oil side so oil wont piss out blower. Seen one run with them open and umm it seized and that so keep those small pipes on out side hooked together at each end if you want bearings to live. Cameron -
Sc14/12 Supercharger On A 4k
camerondownunder88 replied to [email protected]'s topic in Engine Conversions
Hi, Now I just dabble in K motors for hobby etc. Now Rob not 100% disagreeing with you or 100% disagree in with [email protected]. I used to think to get power out of a 3K needed $$ and time and effort and not worth it........ Then I met a guy with 166RWKW 3K i think heart missed a beat. In a KE10 mind you. Now I said what does it run. He used a stock 3K baffled sump upped oil pressure to hep bearings. Then got cylinder head 39mm intake valve and for get exhaust size was bigger but. He took the 3K out to 79mm bore I think it was (uppeer limit) and that allows the BIG ass valves to fit. Then he dropped a turbo on ran 19PSI. No balance nothing new pistons bore quick nasty big valve job and boost. And best bit guy told me what valves he used so woot can use it at my place now :hmm: Now the TRD 3K running crappy 60;s tech NA made 150HP at wheels of the KP61. And it can be improved on now. So 3K I think if your switched on know what your doing use ideas from everywhere a lot of power can be made but I think the 3K-B made 83HP at 6600RPM so a head shave and that on a motor rev to 8grand new cam I dare say 100 is possible but at fly not wheels. So id want hard pics to prove but hey. Any way back on topic. Have you given TBI or EFI a though for SC14. Also KE70 aircon pulley will fall onto a SC14 and fit like a finger in a bum so you can run it V belt if you want. And I think max efficiency of SC14 was 8PSI with heat verse boost graph. I plan to only run about there when I'm done one day on my set up. Cameron -
I SUPPORT YOUR WAR OF TERROR!!!..lol :hmm:

^^ Really...going out to shed tomorrow to see if I can measure that...never noticed that. Well earn every day. lucky I didn't throw that 4K-e out to you..lol Cameron

I get the exact same ting in Ipswich. I take in my KE1X parts catalouge and show them picture give them a part number and they say oh we don't have any and can't get any and can't look in Japan when they can. Shits me off I guess if I keep hounding them Ill get some where but still shits me off.

Ke15 Sl Sprinter Thread...
camerondownunder88 replied to camerondownunder88's topic in Rollaclub Rides
UPDATES: Decided I would try to finish cooling system off today so I can drive the car. Went and got some blue heater hose I needed and got cracking. As I am keeping all my under bonnet (well most of it) hoses the same color makes it look much neater. WELL. Got all the heater and radiator hoses and everything connected up. Filled it with water and it all leaks :lolcry: water pump had a minor leak, heater valve leaked, Inlet pipe on heater core in car leaked, lower radiator hose leaked, etc man i was annoyed. Never had a cooling system issue before with leaks till today. So I drained the water system and begin to fix leaks. The leak on the internal heater of the car was due to when I slipped the pipe on the metal core it had a sharp edge and cut the hose a bit. So retrimmed hose, filed bur off core and fitted hose. Then the lower radiator I used an old hose i had laying about it was had it. So tossed it int he bin and went to get another one. The original heater tap I rebuilt I took the top off it again and put some master gasket 515 around the o-ring. as I didn't have an o-ring the size I needed to replace it. Then the water pump I threw in the bin and got a spare one out and fitted it. So filled the radiator again and NO LEAKS :) so happy now. So another thing down one step closer to finishing. But on other news. I over hauled the original fan belt pulley stripped it to bare metal prepped and painted again looks how at pic below: all painted was gloss as phone camera doesn't do it any justice makes it look flat. Also got my self an ORIGINAL yes ORIGINAL twin carby KE1X air filter with good condition sticker on it: Pic below: Did peel sticker off so I will blast clean and paint it again so it is like new and re stick the sticker on. Now for hard part find filter that fits..LOL I don't think the subi one quite fits the KE1X box but ill see. Cameron -
Wtf $700 For 3k Con Rods
camerondownunder88 replied to blacktopspirit's topic in Automotive Discussion
CHEAP... If there rigi dige TRD 3K conrods WITH TRD pistons wont go well ina road car designed to RACE hard but man $700 is cheap and about on the money. There is a mob in the USA who press out forged H beam conrods for K motors at $1000 a pop seen them in a K motor to was a 3K and think it ran a high 12 second pass from memory so if your crazy and got cash there cheap I guess. But a cheap set of 1G conrods and you'll be fine :) Cameron -
HAHAHA I have been watching that ebay auction to. I did notice he got some facts wrong on your car but hey he knew about it..lol But the sale price is WAY TO CHEAP. Postage to AU was about $90 I also though if I had a spare few hundred it would of been mine but can't imagine that manifold flowing much..lol Cameron

If your keen have a lathe you can rip the internals out of a camira dizzy adn use them yes ona K motor  Also use the ECU for the TBI version and the TBI setup. But better off getting 7K-e gear really. Cameron
-
TRD gear drive system is an off the shelf can buy option Taz that isn't custom. Also TRD 3K I believe can bounce around the 10,000 to 11,000 RPM mark. At 11,000 RPM cam is doing 5500 RPM stock cam only should go to 3150 RPM so I guess they run bigger bearings to help with load more oil film around it and surface area for oil to work on. And the trust face is bigger so I dare say the gear system put extra axial load on the cam shaft. You could grind it down to size no worries. But I think with a reground cam you can get a way better cam profile and keep the TRD one for a collectors item hang on the wall..lol Also the TRD 3K had 150 HP and bigger valve springs so I would also hint the extra valve spring load might of made them run bigger bearings. Cameron
-
You got a good eye phatke30 The TRD cam doesn't use a chain. They use solid gears like Holden motors. small bracket with bearing holds gear bolts onto block and new crank adn cam gear fitted. Cameron
-
Will be A LOT of work to fit a TRD cam shaft: Stock cam on left TRD cam on right. Notice the bearings for a TRD cam are HUGE and the lobes are longer. Will need to bore out bearing area of cam and fit larger bearings if you get that cam. Or just get a stock cam regrind it to what suits your car and done..lol Much cheaper. Cameron

Hi, The high energy kit is good cheap and works well and noticable improvement. BUT Ill have to dig up the kit number but there is an old kit might even be discontinued Jaycar and Dick smith in Australia had them. They were MSD CDI units DIY build. I got half way through mine then stopped as well no time..lol so can't rate it yet but I think it packed 10 sparks per cylinder below 3000RPM if I remember correctly. If I can find the kit number try for it If not go high energy kit BUT if it was me and I didnt get the MSD CDI kit id get dizzy regraphed to the cam you get and go for a GT40 coil not to bad cheap etc. Cameron

Water methanol injection is for real. Good stuff. And easy to make a DIY setup or buy one if needed. Also I havent really looked at a 7K before but I think it has the same stroke as a 5K. IF it is the same stroke use 4agze conrods. They are a bit shorter than 5K items and forged :abuse: So strong rods will jsut drop compression DONE :owned: Cameron

I don't think ANYONE is selling a K series small ass diff center on here.LOL And if it is on here for a K series small ass diff ITS MINE :abuse:..lol Rare as rocking horse shit makes this stuff sound easy to find :owned: All the stuff I have seen guys obtain happen to stumble over it so just look you might find. but KP61 had a HUGE racing class and LOTS of them ran 3K-R and they snapped up parts like crazy so if your looking try around old school racers. Also now and then this stuff pops up on Jap Yahoo auctions so it is around I guess. If you want ill dig up the Diff info part numbers pictures etc tomorrow to late to do it now..LOL Cameron
-
KP61 startlet had dry sump option :D 2 versioons were released the TRD baffeled sump with extra oil capacity was one option they stucka fitting in it and used a pump. Other model was one I posted in the picture with cast aluminium sump etc. Also 3K R I do believe had it I do have some part numbers for that motor might go look up see what it says about it. Also those TRD valve springs in that ebay add ARENT COMPLETE... He lists the part number go look it up adn you will see it is the OUTER spring these were a dual spring setup so you will be missing a spring if you get them. And these springs use larger diameter vavle spring retainers made from titanium part number: 13741-KE052 AND to top it off the stage 2 K motor kit uses larger diameter stem valves and valve spring seat is also bigger so if you get those springs the cost still left to go to make them work or anything would be astronomical so I can't recommend them. But hey id like to have his set sitting on my desk :abuse: But Mr TRD SHIT Toyota over engineered there oil cooler system ...lol I got a pic of it in my TRD book and pic doesnt show the pump yours does I mean why didn't they jsut get a electric pump instead of over engineering the cam..LOL Spose that is why the TRD cams have HUGE bearings adn are totally over sized along with the cranks. Also WinKE55 to answer your question. What didnt TRD have for a K motor. From racing seats and gear knobs to gasket kits for them. TRD did the lot even a dash mount rally computer OMG for a K car I mean its nuts. mind boggles oh adn the TRD LSD for a K diff is so nice :owned: Cameron

Hi, Been researching TRD K motor parts lately and was curious to see if any one had info or more pictures. Now the pic below is of the TRD dry sump kit for the K motor: Now as you can see the new TRD oil filter mount has a red fitting in the side that is rather large. I dare say this is oil in as another red fitting is in the sump its self which is prob oil to the tank or pump inlet. Now the red fitting in the new oil pick filter housing if this is oil in Id say TRD blocked the oil in hole in the block so oil will be pumped in then go into filter then around motor. Now question is.... In the K motor when the oil pump is removed would of TRD just used a flat plate to cover the hole where the oil pump bolts in or did they do something different? Does some one have a pic of this part of the system. Also note the 2 pumps in the pic are the 2 different styles TRD released a V belt drive and a cogged belt drive but in normal kit there is just one pump. Cheers Cameron

They are like celica or tarago rims. AE86 ones are SIMILAR but have a different center cap etc and are slightly different. Look in my for sale thread about same rims I have a complete set of AE86 rims and there are pics in there. Just cantfind same pic to post here that is all if you want a reference. Cameron
