The front didn't scrub once I bent the corner out a bit. The rear barely scrubbed. Needs some metal welded in to fill it up in the rear gaurd lips, but it wont take much work to cover. Also i did my sums, the wheels are 15x8 front and rear and the G3 centre pair are -8 offset, they were on the front. The G2 pair are -6 offset and are on the rear. I should point out that the car has xt130 lcas in it that widen the front track 10mm a side. You could fit 15x8 -20 without them dead easy.

A glossy painted red would look good, that shade in the photo looks like anodising and on rims red anodaising looks ricey to me. What about silver centres?

I think your mate has you a bit hysterical. Who cares if the car was rolled, the motor will be fine, its not like a big bump will ruin it, I mean the thing can contain up to 8000 powerful explosions a minute. If the car was rolled then yay for the halfcut, less klms on it that one that was taken off the road due to being driven long in the tooth. Ive heard of people welding up the water jacket on a block that had a chunk knocked out and using the motor, went fine. don't stress, who cares what happened to the body of the car that the halfcut came from. if it was cut in half 9/10 times it was pranged or at least shit enough that someone wanted a new car. Also you can usually hear a halfcut run, not able to do that with just a loose motor as easy. Bear in mind once the car is gas axed in half it surely is ruined, I don't think it matters whether the bits of the car you arent getting or ever going to see were dinged. Uncle chop chop says...

Don't get too excited. There is no test and tune on their calendar until Saturday the 5th of June, it doesn't say anything about tonight. We may not be able to go. I don't think its even on.

So I'm going to the drags this week weather permitting. Whos in?

Talking about rare or unique albums, I have a copy of Dr Octagon here on cd, thats been autographed for me by dj qbert. I also have an un played re-issue of freestyle fellowship on double vinyl with all the missing tracks that were only ever on the original cd. I'm a huge Aceyalone fan. But thats not aussie hip hop now is it. I went out to see Urthboy, and Horrowshow a while back. I preferred urthboy but I like a looser style anyhow. Horrowshow was well produced and tightly performed, but it just didn't have soul.

mr laneous. Check him out on youtube. Probably one of the most free sprited and talented musicians I have ever witnessed live. open mic champ, and for those people who care whether they get paid or not he aint. Hes usually popping on stage with yuinhuzami. Mad skills, he can sing, rap, scratch, hit the reggae notes and smack a guitar around pretty off tap too. Makes me laugh when people go on about selling out. Who are you to judge, you sweep floors for 6 bucks an hour, you'd make money making music if you could. Compared to most american emcees, the aussie crews keep it so real and if you ask me the only thing thats changed about hilltops from ten years ago when i saw them at the moon bar has been production values and an awareness that if you wanna get paid you have to make a radio single or 2 on each album. Every hip hop album is the same. At least all the ones where the artists are paid. I used to carry on the same way but you just have to open your mind to different things. How hardcore do you want it? Music is music. I respect almost all hip hop that represents the musical talent of the creator.

You said it. We don't react to anything except peoples' posting habits. Your comments are not warranted in the sales section. I don't care how you try and justify it (helping? lol). Point is, you are way up there in warn %. Ask yourself why. Then stop having a go at all of us in general. If you have a specific complaint, take it by PM to irokin. He calls the shots. Moderators are people too, we have emotions and although we try to not react to the things we sift out of the forum daily we sometimes do and we are capable of owning up to it when we do, if approached in a civil and calm manner. If you consider yourself hard done by, put it into perspective. You have required several bouts of moderation already, which just eats precious minutes out of our lives away for no good reason. Now you start a thread to complain about moderators. While you are annoyed at us now, the things we do that you perceive selfishly as victimization, are done to keep things running smoothly for the majority of the forum members (everybody except you, perhaps?). Most people, once having placed a for sale add, would only like a post if it is a genuinely sincere inquiry about a possible sale, not to see they have a response and be disappointed by some idle banter that someone such as your self sees as 'helpful' to them selling their vehicle. Before you go too nuts crying about how hard done by you are, i will remind us all how much you contibute with a few of your greatest hits. Surely these are all the kinds of comments we need here and should tolerate on a daily basis... "reason for sale?" "reason for sale mate?" "you might already know this joluf and big jace so this is more for prospective buyers.... this car would be an absolute riot with the ecotec motor in it, but if its still not enough for you, you rip out the ecotec and bolt in an l67 motor (supercharged ecotec found mainly in vt calais and statesman), as it uses the same mounts etc. l67s can be had cheap and put out practically the same power as the holden 308 motors and similar torque. and theyre cheap to modify as well. just some food for thought. free bump for a wicked car. if i had the 6500 youre asking for id snap it up" "if had the money for this id be all over it! nice car mate, good luck with the sale" "wow i am so sick of you keyboard warriors. do you seriously have nothing better to do with your time than pick on other people behind the safety of your computer? why don't you get a life and leave my thread alone. only bother posting if you are interested. i have had pm offers from a few different members on here, one was a timewaster who several times didnt reply to my messages unless i emailed him as well, and the other main offer i got i would be interested in if there wasnt quite so much rust on the shell (in over a dozen spots). i don't go crapping all over your threads so don't do the same to mine. especially taz rx, youre a moderator, i would expect a better example from someone like you than the example you are setting. no wonder there are so many w@*kers on forums like this when the moderators are such d*@ckheads" "pm sent" "don't you just hate it when people do that?" "if only this were in sa, or i was in qld!!!!" "pm sent" "so how much would it cost to get it resprayed black all over then? pm sent." "you might want to change your signature message then haha, free bump." "email received, pm sent" "no problem mate, good luck with the sale. suprised you haven't sold it already though...." "no need to be like that. I'm not one of those boostcruising people who offer to do a swap and then you never hear from them again. currently i don't have cash but i have my daily i want to swap. i ask if people will swap with me so i don't waste their time asking them questions about their car, or spending time inspecting their car if they don't want to swap. jeez so many people on this forum are @*#@s" "swaps for a daily??" "guessing thats a no to my last post?" "are you interested in any swaps?" "yeah i have no idea whats going on" "how come youre selling it already? didnt you only buy it last month?" "id be interested but that colour is soooo off putting. any idea how much it would cost to get it resprayed black entirely?" "would you be interested in a swap for a VS commodore?" "why pink? haha" "interested in a swap for my VS as a daily, plus $500 cash your way??" "wicked, well again, if you them still in 2 to 3 weeks time, ill get back in touch, or if i sell my VS before then ill get back in touch" "this sounds like an absolute bargain. if you still have it in a couple of weeks (which i highly doubt!) ill get in touch with the money" "is it a no then?" "if these were in sa...." "any chance you would swap for a VS commodore?" "would you consider a swap for a VS commodore Equipe??" "wana buy my VS so i can buy this? haha" "if i can get rid of my VS by then ill snap it up" "fair enough mate. well if i sell the commodore before you sell the 'rolla, ill be in touch. good luck with the sale" "would you consider a swap for a overrated vs commodore equipe??" "how come youre no longer selling it?" "heya mate how is the car mechanically? when you say it needs tlc, do you just mean in terms of bodywork and trim? i have $1k cash which i have waiting to be spent on the right car." "heya would you be interested in a swap for a daily? its a vs commdore in really good condition? when you say its making a weird noise from the drivers wheel, do you know what the issue is? thanks" Now that we have had a good look through your posts we can work out a few things. 1.. You are desperately trying to get rid of a vs commonwhore. 2. You make inappropriate comments in for sale more regularly than anyone should have to tolerate. 3. You think most people here are idiots. 4. You expect to come here, contribute next to nothing in any technical, social or constructive fashion at all, and still get away with abusing the privilege that is the for sale section. 5. You make posts when PM is more appropriate. If i was in charge you'd be banned already. Looking at all the above crap posts I'd suggest that plenty of people have been banned for less. Interestingly all this rubbish posting has been done since march. Despite a few warnings you haven't changed your habits at all. I vote that you be banned. Simple as that. Pull your head in. You are lucky to still be a member. Take it anyway you like. Its not intended to disrespect you in any specific way, but just to make you aware that you are part of something greater than an individuals needs and that you should respect it.

Yeah I don't want the honeycomb. i want that old fashioned plaid flavour. I have got a couple of cassete surrounds here, which colour are you after. I have brown, grey and navy. and SamQ, I didnt use staples. Just contact the face then trim the edges to overlap an inch or so and respray glue around them from the rear, making sure to get some glue on the vinyl and the substrate, then give it 15 minutes to tack off and fold the edges around and stick it on. Gotta love contact adhesive, as a cabinetmaker I use it for a lot of different things. The thinner for it is magic stuff too. 50% TOLUENE. Will most likely kill me someday but until then I have to work with it each day.

I honestly do not care much for car sound. Thats why I just have the same crappy 6x9s that came in the little red spirit installed in the shelf. I'm just doing it because my original faded carpet looks pov and most other things are brown inside now, except the dash under body, rear seat and shelf. It will match the new pillar trims, I should do the rear ones too methinks. I don't usually put in the middle pillar trims. I think they look better painted out white like the rest of the car. Plus I'm on a lifelong mission to remove rattles and undue noise from old cars. I just like my cars to feel civilized, no dodgy things hanging loose or poorly fitted trim. Id really like to find a overrated rear seat in a brown or cream/check pattern...

I just traced an old shelf I had lying around here, cit some vinyl and used spray contact to attach it. I did some upholstery with $1100 per sheet black armani leather once so cutting up 15 dollar a metre vinyl is no stress.

Made Vinyl shelf for some old 6x9s. Its just 8mm ply with vinyl contacted over it. Looks pretty pro.

3a-u... What Parts Are Worth Keeping?
LittleRedSpirit replied to white_sandshoe's topic in AExx Corolla Discussion
I don't know if the engine mounts are usable but someone will want the box. -
Now featuring vinyl A Pillar trims to match the door cards and dash.

Drinks sound good, Ill try and make it over there. I have now fitted Timmys recaro and Beerhead has been for a ride in it and gives it the thumbs up. I just re drilled the rails and it bolted directly into the car, it was even easier than the other side. Next thing to do is wash it and vacuum out the interior, then maybe look at doing the parcel shelf so its a bit tidier. I have an old mdf one here thats already cut out for 6x9s but I don't have any foam sheet to upholster under the vinyl. I must find some today. Problem being the nearest clark rubber is miles away. If I can be f@$ked I'm going to have a go with the stock rear swaybar in it. Id like to raise the rear a bit but I don't have the technology. That technology being taller springs or a spacer type thing to weld in... Terry wanted me to come to munchies last night and grab a southernways but I couldn't make it, people dropped in and I couldn't really leave. So I will have to find the time to scoot over and see Terry soon.
-
Yeah but you didn't lend the bloke who works there an engine crane a couple of times. Gotta love mates rates. It pays to share. Must thank Terry as its his crane anyhow and he set it up. Makes me realize what a good deal I got from you Simon. Cheers, mate! On another note, I have a few small projects for this car on the horizon. A new parcel shelf just finished in the same colour vinyl as the dash. That will hold my 2 old shitty 6x9s. I have a very good nick oil cooler from an ae92 that, if I add a couple of holes to the car will bolt in and let me keep my oil a bit cooler. It will more or less be in the stock location as it would be in the ae92, hidden under the grill. I will keep it black also. Not sure how I will tap the sump yet but I will work something out. Needs a wash, too, it still has rubber stuck underneath it from the drags 2 weeks ago. Axle seal is leaking a little, which gives me the shits. Ive already changed it twice, I believe its the axle itself thats worn where the seal contacts it.

The seats look great. I was wondering... do you do anything special with the steering rack. You use a quaife rack and pinion or powersteering arms or anything for more lock?
-
Lip suits the car. Perfect choice. ;)

Had a fiddle with the laptop today. I trimmed fuel by 2 percent and ignition by 2 degrees, its much crisper now. Very happy with it. I also bought 08ftws recaro since its a match for my drivers seat. Now rocking 2 recaros up front.

Yes well i want to set a date so that we can all go there together and not miss state of origin. I dare say it will be better attended if I don't ask everyone to come on a state of origin night. Therefore I propose we all go down and have a run on Wednesday the Second of June. It would be un-Queenslander of me to ask people to miss the origin.

You would need to mount the clutch pedal mount, which will most likely require re-drilling or flaring a hole, then bracing it as it will be a bit floppy. Then you would use the pedal assembly from an auto ae71 with the pedal installed from a manual ke70 brake pedal, so its not double width. It can be done, its not super hard, but if you've never fabricated anything don't attempt it.
