You don't have to tell me, I'm a cabinetmaker, we couldnt get by without removalist blankets. Heres some shots of the rear end nowadays. I couldnt resist pressure washing the inside again while its near stripped. The roof lining came out as sand.

You really nailed that. Now do the motor! That shell is basically what I want mine to look like when done. Clean, tidy and very cool. :jamie:

Good tip, Ill be doing that today.

The red spirit was $700. It was in worse condition than this one that I found for similar money. They both needed work, and were basically tired cars in need of a lot of love. Similar ks. Around 400 thousand. Not quite overrated but it certainly doesnt owe me 3500 dollars yet.

We can accept your apology too. Its good you realise it was incredibly racist, and that we don't discriminate here. Just keep that kind of thing to yourself, we are here cause we love cars. Lets all build a bridge.

I just went and pressure washed the taillights and fitted them. Fresh silicon looks nice. That is all.

Just aerosol cans mate, did a nice job. The key is matching the paint code and with white it can't fade too bad. Its not the best way to do it, but its a 500 dollar car that will be driven alot so I'm not getting too heavily into the body. Just tidy and waterproof is the goal.

All the paint is done, just need to wait till tomorrow to start with the interior. This will be the first rolla Ive had with carpet in it. I might put some squishy stuff under it so its quiet and comfy. I threw the original underlay bits out as they were old and rooted.

Ok, more calls were made, and I can have the rear screen I have fitted for $85 and the front replaced with a new screen for $225. Thats more like it!

I jusy priced windscreen replacement front and rear and from O'Briens it was $900 and from Novus it was $545. Talk about a massive rip job. Does anyone know a more economical way to get the screens changed? Anyone want to do it for cash?

Beige got sold. I was offered theis car for cheap so I decided to switch to this, being an AE71 and all. The white will blend fine, I'm just using huge cans of touchup in the matching paint code. It wasnt that close to the correct colour on the red car, and it still looked ok. I don't care too much about the body, so 100% perfect paint isnt a concern, as long as its all straight and clean looking, and the boot and roof don't leak I'm happy. Taillights look awesome in a ke70 when theres no rust to make the rear look sad and they have a proper clean bead of silicon. The ones I put in Phils old red CA18rolla looked awesome with translucent silicon all round in a nice even bead. I did some more filling last night. I'm confident that once I sand it this arvo I will be able to just paint it and move on to more mechanical things.

No sd reader. The phone has inbuilt memory not an sd card anyhow. If there was an easier way I'd have done it. Cheers for the comments.

Oh, hell why not shome shitty camera photos. Fixed focal length ftl. The damn camera and computer never want to talk to each other. Had 5 gos at connecting it before it worked. grrrrrrrrrr.

Oh btw, I got the paint I needed to tidy it up so this weekend Ill probably have it back to rwc conditon. Stoked shes now rust free (if thats possible). :) I'm gonna have to do a wreckers run to get a new boot seal for it. The last one I used was from a Magna I think. Ill try and get some pictures done once its a bit tidier. The interior will take a while, the roof lining is falling out, its raining velour in there. Its like a pimp was a suicide bomber. I'll probably pay a professional to redo it at some stage if I can't work something out myself. Its a bit of a bitch the way a corolla roof linign is done, with the wire rods and loops and so forth. I'm gonna use the carpet from it too. I cleaned it with an engine cleaning gun full of degreaser and then terrys pressure washer. It took ages but it came clean as new almost, and has no rips or tears. It just had tonnes of oil in it so its come up awesome. I chucked an ssr mk2r on the white car to see what it looked like. On the rear it was great under stock gaurds. Had maybe 15-20mm of gaurd overhanging it, so it should just clear the inner lip and fit straight on with zero flarage. Not bad for 7s. I did notice that the inner edge on one wheel is a bit damaged. Its had a hit on something, but I'll just get it re-rolled, its just one and its only a couple of mm out. Woot!

Theres not much chance of running with a turbo Skyline. I beat a lot of cars with it however. What I'm not responsible for is whether the other person can drive. I beat a v8 statesman, an accord Euro, acouple of Audis. I beat a boxster one day but I dunno what their effort level was like. I also went against a 5 litre vs ute with a bit of work done, I was one and a half car lengths behind at 130klm/hr when I gave up. That was with a 3.9 diff and a shoddy tune, too. The funnest, fairest race I had was against a Sportivo Corolla with a 2zzge. It was dead even, but I pipped him by about a half a car length. Its not a super fast car in a straight line. Its quick, but not fast. Its all about the corners.

Well done. Thats all I got to say. :)

Apology accepted. Lets start fresh. I closed the thread, hopefully before any more people were offended. Ill trash it so you can go again. Perhaps add some background on whats going on like the others have suggested.

The aussie tacho cluster is almost the same as your type in shape (assuming yours is a japanese style instruments). It will physically fit in the spot and screw in, but the shape of the cover is different. It will leave a hollow bit around the screen. I think the plugs fit too but I never got to the stage of powering it up when playing in my car. Ive heard a pin or three needs to be swapped, but the swap is well do-able.

Id just like to take this moment to remind everyone that i don't have a camera at the moment.

My AE86 diff was $700 in need of rotors, rekit for the calipers, crownwheel and pinion, and seals. I bought all new stuff for it, so it cost me in the end over 2 grand. Thats what a nice diff costs. Theres no point spending f@$k all on something shitty. The good things I got were axles, 2 way lsd and the housing and bearings. Everything else I redid. Jap spares come from Japan. ;) Hard to get but there are ways.

Its going ok. Terry came and fixed a small bit of extra rust for me the other day. Its been a bit too rainy to do much else. Once I get a couple of cans of touchup i will put the lights back in and do the rwc. Just gotta pull the roof lining out, fit the good interior, and touch up the paint. Once its got a roady the 4ac will be straight out and the 20v, ae86 diff and good suspension in. ;)

16v Conversion For Ae82
LittleRedSpirit replied to Silver_Seca_AE82's topic in AExx Corolla Discussion
Use the gearbox and driveshafts from the twinky. You may want the brakes too. -
You need a manual tailshaft. The diff ratio is different but most people just cop the better acceleration from the 4.1 auto diff compared to the 3.9 manual diff.

Dude, someone stole your springs! lolz :P
