  1. Any progress on the rust repairs??
  2. Are you painting white again or going something different?
  3. Some of us can remember when jip picked her up, damn i'm getting old!
  4. The carby you just purchased, looks to me.................not to be an aussie delivered model (maybe off an import 5k or something), Now the hose you have labelled number "2", Where exactly does the other end run to? Under Where your fuel feed bolts into the top hat of the carby..........................is the an outlet for a vacuum hose underneath it? Outlet "1" looks like to be a bowl breather, Outlet "3" and "4" are constand vacuum lines, these are the two causing your car to run "rough" as to causing a vacuum leak. Outlet number "5", i need a better pic as to where exactly on the carby is positioned as to determine What its likely purpose is. By looking in the pictures you have provided, your running a late ke55, ke70 exhaust/inlet manifolds. If possible, could you provide more pics of the overall hoses associated with the carby?
  5. Just my 2 cents, Leave the cooling stock! Thats what it was designed for, cheers!
  6. Any price like yours and its certainly a bargain!
  7. mmmmmm :hmm: , yeah reed is right, that is a little too high, all the aftermarket ones i buy usually start to open at 82 deg C, sounds like you were supplied with the wrong part.
  8. 82 deg C or 180 deg F, sounds like something is causing your engine to run hot, check your thermostat and radiator, cheers!
  9. Spotted the other night on oakey flat road, a white 55 rolla with the plates oke55???
  10. Words of encouragement, DO IT!!!!!!!
  11. Trust me, i so wish i could, just the work on the house is never ending at the moment...........................................
  12. the racq motor fest is pretty good, wide variety of cars, quite a large event, even had one of my rollas on display there last year...........
  13. Sounds like your auto box needs attention, i'd say check the vacuum kick down pipe for leaks and make sure for connections, and more than likely you need to replace the kick down vacuum diaphram unit on the gearbox, this regulates the flow of fluid inside the valve body with throttle response. If the vacuum circut is failing, your box wont operate properly.
  14. you didnt muck around did you dave?
  15. certainly the brown sedan looks fairly tidy, And the 55 hardtop looks like a great/solid basis for a project, Why arnt there any more rolla's left up here in queensland?
  16. +1 for the old school look, i like!
  17. cylender head finish has come up pretty good, like your work!
  18. Heya dave, We need an UPDATE!
  19. If its the same guy i'm thinking of, yes, quite a good guy.

  21. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^WHAT THE FUDGE????????????????????????^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  22. sorry to be a pain in the arse, don't suppose you could take a pic or two from inside the engine bay at the affected area? from the photos you have provided, it looks like you have caught it before any damage has occured. My opinion would be to replace the lower radiator support panel while your at it, you already have the panels off and i think (by memory) there are only about 30ish spot welds you have to drill out, I've had to unpick the welds around the headlight supports aswell to make it a proper job, cheers.
  23. Extremely easy fix, well for me anyways, just looks like it needs to be moved back into place with a floor jack then welded, although a couple of pics of the lower radiator support side would be good, cheers!
  24. Check your pm's!
