  1. there are two phrases i love to use when people ask this question, -you wouldnt kick her out of bed if she farted! -you'd use her sh*t for toothpaste! lol! Sorry for being off topic guys! :)
  2. I know this car terry, its a local one, i have sold a few parts to her old man in the past, top bloke he is!
  3. I think you may have some dramas with the extractors cameron, ke1x extractors have totally different bends compared to ke3x ones, ke1x extractors have more bends in them obviously to miss the engine mount, idler arm, steering arm and firewall and also you would have noticed your exhaust goes over the gearbox crossmember. as opposed to ke3x extractors the are more "straight" so to speak, i know someone that has a set of ke1x extractors that may get rid of for the right price! ;)
  4. Spotted last night, white ke70 sedan drive past aspley maccas around 8pm? car looks familiar for some reason? ;)
  5. ^^^^^^^^Anyone here from rollaclub buy it???????? ;)
  6. ^^^^^^^thats very true, looks like I'm the only one keen so far! ;)
  7. hey jip. you could buy the car, take every thing you want off it, except the diff, ill buy the diff off ya, and just get the rest dumped, can be done easily in one day!?
  8. Yellow is a good colour, i painted one of my ke30's yellow many years ago, i used the factory corolla sunflower yellow, turned out great! the finish you want depends on the preperation you do!
  9. thats ok old corolla bloke, i wasnt putting you down, its better to be older anyway, you have more knowledge  :no2: And back to your reply 3tg rolla, i have here a weber book which is over 100 pages long and gives you an idea on what sorts of jets you should run, and how to do the mixtures, floats......etc.......etc. when i get a spare hour ill look through it and see what sort of numbers i can rustle up for you!
  10. the other thing to check is the secondary venturi????????????????? sorry old corolla bloke, i don't understand? i must have miss interpreted you wrong? side draft webbers don't have secondary throats? sorry to hijack your thread 3tg rolla!
  11. That is so true chrisandliz, they could have made them a stronger head, i guess we will have to wait and see!
  12. when i first bought my old 55 with the engine in it, it too was popping through the carbs and out the exhaust, so i gave it a major service, still doing it? off to the carby place to get the twins tuned, and the told me it was low on compression, so off to the mechanics and found out i had bent valves, thats what was causing it to "pop", when it tried to fire on the compression stroke, since it had bent valves it didnt have a good seal and when it fired it escaped back through the carbs and out the exhaust, this was caused through the camshafts not beiong timed properly and the valves had been hitting on the top of the pistons, i really hope this isnt the problem with your motor, you checked to see if the carbs might have picked up a bit of crap from the fuel tank?
  13. We need the rain though, don't worry jon, next time you take holidays , the same thing will more than likely happen again, its always the way! lol! ^^^^^id hate to get my car hit with that hail? (we havnt had hail up here).
  14. Hey there, this doesnt sound good at all, your symptoms are the same as what i had with my 3t-g when i first got it, you done a compression test yet?
  15. lol! you need to listen to these people cameron! love ke70 and felix are both on the ball! you wont get it out easily any other way, i too have had this problem, if the puller can't grip on the outer casing, use a die grinder, i used an air operated one on mine with a stone end and carefully took a chunk out of the outer casing, worked a treat!
  16. Good luck finding a bearing puller, it took me a week to find a place that sells them, if its only a once off, i agree with the grease option, works well! :bash:
  17. realistically -dangerous? yes! -unreliable? yes! -illegal? yes! -flogges out tyres and suspension components? yes! -costs you money? yes! don't get me wrong, they are a whole lot of fun but driving in every day traffic with one in is dangerous, for arguement sake your driving when its raining, take a corner normally, rear end slides out unexpectedly, up a kerb, cleans up a person, stuck with the situation for the rest of your life. it may not happen to most people but it has happened! but its entirely up to ke70_sa if he wants to do it! :y:
  18. I really REALLY like the idea of converting it to a 4x4!
  19. I don't know of any difference between the two, so i would say that no there isnt any difference, body shape is the same and one would think there isnt a difference in the rubbers? oh sorry i forgot, the ke3x front windscreen rubber is different, it has an extra rubber flap that runs along the top of the rubber on the inside for the hood lining to tuck under! if I'm wrong people please correct me, hope this helps jon?
  20. ^^^^^^^^i know what you mean jon! i get people all the time come up to me and say "i love your datsun!" It shits me to tears! i feel like sometimes just giving them a flying headbut and say "can't you read!" and point to the badges on the car. Violence isnt the answer though!
  21. Okey doke! by the sounds of things i would get a couple of opinions of why the box is jumping out of gear, I'm not very clued up on the specific workings of them, i just change them if something goes wrong with them lol! and the oil issue it says in the workshop manual to change the diff oil and manual transmission oil every 40,000 kms. Same goes for automatic transmissions as well. I change mine every 20,000kms because i think the oil would break down if it was left in for 40k kms. manual transmission quantity-1.7 litres automatic transmission-4.7 litres, service refill 2.3 litres diff-1 litre hope this helps?

  23. ^^^^^^^^^I'm with you there, it does the same to me!
  24. Let us know how you go, and if you noticed anything out of the ordinary whilst under there!
  25. Ive had this problem before,(not saying this is the problem with your car) i also checked every thing like wheel balancing etc etc, believe it or not it was as simple as a perished gearbox cross member mount, when i drove the car over 80km an hour, the whole car would vibrate, hope this helps! ;)
