  1. A great tragedy, the reverberations of which are being felt around the country. Rob
  2. Very nice. Quite partial to the 20 series. I also like Gypsum as a colour, too, for some reason. A mate of mine had a club car that colour. ... but I digress. :y: Personally I prefer it with the 14's, and I know how tough it can be to find a set in 110 PCD, too. I fully endorse this product or event.... ;)
  3. I can assure you that leaf springs CAN cut it in the carpark of death. I've motorkhana'd for years with a 25, and was Qld Champion in class with a 55, all with leaf springs.
  4. Two topics merged. A sad waste. RIP
  5. I miss daylight savings. Queensland needs it SO BADLY it's not funny. Lets face it, who needs daylight at 4 in the morning in Summer??? Make it stay lighter later !!!
  6. What type of car is it in, with which engine??
  7. .... they also weigh 50% of what a Corolla does. Hell, I've driven a 2.4 litre L20 powered Bluebird, ex-works rally car that could suck in shrubs and small children as it drove past, and I still think there are better engines about.
  8. Sorry, yes it is. I didn't realise you had posted, as I'd have been typing at the time. I'm not real fast at it! R
  9. I'm not saying L motors are no good. On th contrary. I drove one on the weekend that impressed me a great deal. I'm just saying that there are better and easier conversions out there. An L motor is an old technology engine. Just like a K motor.
  10. I once paid $300 for a KE10 in better condition than that. IMHO keep looking. For some reason 10's aren't as prone to red cancer as 20's and later. There'll be a better one come along for a better price. R
  11. Gday Tiges, I'll answer this one tomorrow when I'm awake properly and not half p!ssed!
  12. Back in the good ol days, two types of fuel were available, Standard and Super. Standard had a lower octane rating than super. This adjuster allowed you to back of or advance the timing easily depending upon which fuel was used. There was a big enough difference that my mother's Mk1 Cortina used to run like a pig ad back fre on Standard, but was fine on super.
  13. Piece of cake. I started in a bog stock KE25 ..... errrr... a number of years ago. I can't see you hurting it, I've literally done over a hundred of these things, and if you're sensible about things, all will be good. While you're there, drop into the autocross track and say gday, I'll be there tomorrow with my red 55. Dude, you won't look like a fool, everyone has to start somewhere, and the people at Holden Club are really helpful and friendly. Don't worry, you'll have a fat time. R
  14. Moved. :)
  15. A standard T-50 I doubt whether It'd take 200Kw ATW. However, it depends on how you treat then. I'm having mine rebuilt at the moment because I chewed all the dogs of the selector hubs.
  16. Ring Queensland transport. That's what they're there for, and why we pay tax.
  17. This thread is now just annoying me. *click*
  18. There's actually about three or four heads for them. Appartently the one to get is the one thats part number ends in 88260. Put it in for now, and see what you think. Personally I would change the extractors to a long set of 4-2-1's (which I've done on mine, I lost some top end, but mid range is ALOT better.). The only other thing I ould put on the "to Do" list would be to find some Webers or Dellortos. Solexs aren't really the shit at all, and can create problems. I will also admit I'm also on a learning curve with mine too. Good Luck! R
  19. *cough* OT A rear main is the seal around the aft end of the crankshaft. If they are leaking, the underside of the engine will have a lot of oil on it. Have had no troubles with ours FWIW. Like any good Corolla owner, timing belts should be changed at every 100K, or bad things may occur. If you buy one and don't know the history, change it anyway. If you don't know what you're doing when you want to change it, give it to someone who does. As a friendly hint, can you start using some punctuation, as reading your posts are making my elderly brain hurt. :) Cheers R
  20. Mmmm, 2TG. Make great boat anchors , too. Have one my self. Can tell you through first hand experience that those extractors are going to give you lots of top end and a frustrating lack of torque down low. Which head does it have on it?
  21. 4.5 in a KE36 wagon.
  22. Had one since new. Rolled it at 11 months, now has 280000 on it. Bullet proof. Couldn't kill it with a big stick. Worth as much as you want to pay for it. :)
  23. I understand it to be down to three. Story I've also heard is that the track may be being used sooner rather than later. Stay tuned. R
  24. http://page.site.net.au/crash18.mpg How not to do Canberra's infamous "Mineshaft". That's going to hurt come wintertime.
  25. Yep, I seem to get two a week. Nothing new here. Usual email scam.
