  1. Dude, this thread is two years old. *click*
  2. I still run TA22 brakes all round on the car, however when I find more than two seconds to scratch myself, they will be upgraded further. Demuire in here did a really god front upgrade, and I'm looking at something like Pintara rear disks for mine. I don't know what master cylinder is in mine, I think possibly TA22, however it's not that big, and not remotely mounted, however it is a squeeze. FWIW, My car.
  3. 1) Yes. 2) Possibly not. I know the intake is certainaly different, but I can't remember what gasket I used for the exhaust. It's because the head is totally different; much wider. 3) Because it was early generation EFI and generally regarded as not much good.
  4. Thank you, I couldn't remember that, however I do know the theory behind a cross flow, I just couldn't tell from the piccie.
  5. If you're in Brisbane you're more than welcome to have a look at mine, and discuss the job. You might want to think about a diff upgrade, too.
  6. Agricultural. Not sure I like it. Pinto's have been done to death. The factory cars had twins and thats good enough for me. A bit re inventing the wheel for me. to me it just doesn't look right. Cn nyne remind me if pinto's are crossflow? I can't remember. I don't like his strut brace design either.
  7. How much money do you have? I have Bilsteins and they rock.
  8. My understanding is they had a link back end with leaves, like the Escorts.
  9. You have far too much time on your hands...... ....... Looks good but!
  10. PRC, erm.... no. Classic, possibly. UK, definitely. I'm going to have a look at my homologation papers for mine and see what they say. :lmao:
  11. Rear towers for the shocks to sit in like the front. I'll take a piccie next week of the Group 4 Escort we're doing at the moment.
  12. No, but it does have a Gemini gear knob! Let's see the Poms get one of those! :) Yes Trev, that's why I posted it. We should be able to fit a couple of Corollas in the box...... I must admit I don't have a link back end in mine...... although..... :lmao:
  13. I'm freighting EVO2 to the UK for that price...... http://www.irish-rallying.com/classified.p...d=060424_230652
  14. I refuse to read the top post until more punctuation is inserted.
  15. Very nice. Who's your old man?
  16. Why bother with the adjustable height kit? Get the correct spring to start with and you'll not have a problem. Unless you're going to be raising and lowering on a regular basis, or going really hard core, I can't see the point. Gabriel shock should stay where they are, in the boot. Don't look at doing a swaybar until you've sorted springs and shocks, or you'll end up chasing your tail if thing don't work properly. I wrote up a blurb last night on another threa about how I consider suspension should be tackled if you can be bothered reading it. :) http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...ndpost&p=111888 Cheers R
  17. Ermmmmm, people, OT! Teach Matt how to use PM's. :)
  18. Aahhh, Chris! :) I'm not arguing the fact that leaves are better than the 70 back end, far from it. I just can't see the point in changing an older car to a link back end, when with a bit of energy and thought, a good set-up can be achieved with what it already has. People seem to think that leaves are something evil, when all it really is is a lack of understanding and knowledge. Chris, you know I'd run coils in the back if I could! :D (Insert gratuitous rally car photo here!)
  19. *Caution: Personal opinion coming up* I believe that a complete suspension rebuild shouldn't be done in one big hit. You can change a whole heap of bits, and find that it handles, well.... not how you want it to, and you don't have any idea which bit caused it to do what it is doing. You can ask people what set up they run, which is all good, however, they are not you. You need to set the car up for what YOU want. It needs a number of things to happen and to be considered. What are you doing with the car? How do you want the car to handle? What is you driving style? do you have a driving style yet? What do you want it to be? What settings are you comfortable with? Do you like soft springs, hard shocks? Or the other way around? Or another combo? The list goes on. Two people can set up essencially the same car to do the same things in two very different ways. For example, Demuires car and my Evo1 Corolla in Tarmac spec. Two different suspension philosophies achieving the same end, due to the individuals preferences. I'm not going to say who's right, as set up is a very personal thing. Some people drive my cars and say "this rocks", however others get in and crap themselves as the car doesn't suit the way they drive. Start with springs and shocks. Get them right before even thinking about touching swaybars. Alot of people change swaybars, and all it ends up doing is covering other evils in the car. Get each step right before moving onto the next one. I very rarely alter swaybars, FWIW. Hope this helps. R
  20. That must mean yours also has a wireless! AFAIK electric aerials weren't an option until 1990 something... :)
  21. WTF is it with people being scared of leaves???? I believe it to be a waste of time and money and effort. Any half competent numb nut should be able to set up your leaf pack so it will do anything you want it to. If you really want coils, by a KE70. I believe your money would be a lot better spent on some really decent (Koni, Bilstein etc) set of shock adsorbers. No, not Munroes, Gabriels or cheap Pedders, real shockies. If you want proof of what leaves can do, come and drive either of my Corollas. :)
  22. Stick some decent shocks in the front and start off with about 200 lb springs and see how they feel. Get your rear springs reset by someone who knows what they're doing, and that will improve the back end somewhat. I doubt that a 1gg will fit in a 20, and if it does, it will trash any semblance of balance that the car had. I've always thought a 2TG was a bit big for a 20, FWIW. Fitting a 1GG to do motorkhanas and other club sport is overkill, and will upset the balance of a good little car. My 2c. R
  23. Yes, a technique handed down from father to son. Been fine on new road cars that I've had, never had any issues. (one of them is now 10 years old, 280K on the clock, and mechanically as good as the day we got it.) My first Dwarf motor rebuild was installed in the car, driven cross town to Calder, and had 25 reasonable laps put onto it before we got serious. My only hard and fast rule is to avoid constant revs. Current motor was run in at Willowbank autocross, with a self imposed 6.5K rev limit. The ute was a different story, but that car only has one purpose in life, and I was being paid to drive it as such. Meh, it works for me. :)
  24. My rule of thum is run it in likes it's going to be used. Having said that, I don't immediately cane the proverbials out of a race motor, but I don't baby them either. When I first drove my show ute, it had 131kms on the clock, and then I proceded to find the rev limiter in reverse... :)
  25. Needs flares. :y:
