  1. Yeah i kinda expected it to have top of the range street tyres. Goodyear Eagle GA's don't really cut it in the performance scene. BTW, their the tyres my mum used to have on her XF Falcon. She always wondered why i wanted to borrow her car when it was raining - hehe.
  2. I know its not a Toyota - But this 9.0sec street registered RX7 (on street tyres) sure got my attention. http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=StillwayFD3S Its about 10meg - but well worth it. 13B + KE30 = Brown jocks
  3. Toymods still seems to work. http://www.toymods.org.au/ Rollaboyz doesnt seem to work http://www.rollaboyz.org.au
  4. In my experience $1500 should get you the complete motor fully machined, balanced and assembled. (depending upon how much your initial outlay for the 5K block is). Although you would expect to pay another $800 on top of the $1500 for the head to get some pretty serious work done to it. As for the side drafts - Last time i checked, the manifolds were around $250 brand new. Not to mention the cost two side drafts on top of that. Here's my engine - Just one of the paths you could take. Engine Specs are as follows: - 3K Large port, big valve head. Double valve springs. - Gemini Pistons 82mm Bore. Hypertec Pistons machined to reduce compression to 9.5:1 - Datsun 1200 pushrods - Fully Balanced - Double row timing chain - Crow solid cam and lifters (Lifters are Chev) - King Bearings - Hastings Rings - Standard conrods and crank. - 12" high powered thermo fan. Davies Craig brand. - 3 Row radiator - Single DVG Weber (Still trying to get twins organised) BTW - you can mail me the $10 for reading your post - hehe :D
  5. thank god for under cover parking hey! That hail is HUGE. I'm down in melbourne and the biggest stuff we get is maybe 1/10th the size of those suckers. I kinda feel sorry for those poor horses. So from what i have read, none of your rolla's where damaged in the storm?
  6. There are 3 Kiwis in a bar, the 1st one walks up to an Aussie and says, "John Eales is gay." The Aussie says, "yeah thats nice." The 2nd one walks up to him and says, "John Eales roots sheep." The Aussie replies, "yeah thats nice." At last the 3rd one walks up to him and says, "John Eales is a kiwi." The Aussie turns around and says, "yeah I think that's what your friends were trying to tell me." ----------------- Q. What do you call 15 guys sitting around the T.V watching the Rugby World Cup final? A. The All Blacks -------------------------- There's a Kiwi rugby fan, an Australian rugby fan and a beautiful woman sitting next to each other on a train. The train enters a tunnel and everything gets dark. Suddenly there is a kissing sound and then a slap! The woman and the Kiwi are sitting there looking perplexed. The Kiwi is bent over holding his face which is red from an apparent slap. The Kiwi is thinking, "That Australian must have tried to kiss this lady, she thought it was me and slapped me." The lady was thinking, "That Kiwi must have moved to kiss me and kissed the Australian instead and got slapped." The Australian was thinking to himself.... "If this train goes through another tunnel, I could make another kissing sound and slap that f@$king Kiwi in the head again."
  7. OK - So we have heard all the sheep jokes at least twice over. So here are a few that insult Kiwi's. Q: If Tarzan and Jane were Kiwi's what does that make Cheeta? A: Smarter than the pair of them. An Aussie, a Kiwi, and a South African are at a bar one night having a beer. All of a sudden the South African drinks his beer, takes off his diamond encrusted watch, pulls out a gun shoots the watch to pieces. He says "In Seth Efrika we have so many diamonds that we don't need to wear the same diamond twice". The Kiwi (obviously impressed by this) drinks his beer throw his glass into the air, pulls out his gun and shoots the glass to pieces. He says "Wull mate, in Niw Zulland we have so much sand to make the glass that we don't need to drink out of the same cup twice". The Australian then pulls out his gun and shoots the Kiwi. -------------------- An Australian was walking down a country road in New Zealand, when he happened to glance over the fence and see a farmer goin' at it with a sheep. The Aussie is quite taken aback by this, so he climbs the fence and walks over to the farmer. He taps him on the shoulder and says, "You know mate, back home, we shear those!" The New Zealander looks frantically around and says, "I'm not bloody SHEARING this with no one!"
  8. Q Why do NZ farmers like to make love to sheep on the top of a cliff? A Because if you were faced with certain death, wouldn't you want to push back? Q How did the NZ farmer find his sheep in the long grass? A Very satisfying Q Why do NZ racehorses run so fast? A Because they have seen what gets done to the sheep Q What is the biggest lie in New Zealand? A I was just helping the sheep over the fence Q What is the smallest organ in a sheep? A A NZ farmers penis
  9. http://www.donaldsensing.com/2003/07/what-...failure-to.html This is where the joke originated from.
  10. Yeah i remember that add. Its was a US naval ship and a lighthouse. Well heres one for you in retaliation. :D An Aussie bloke is having a quiet drink in a bar and leans over to the big guy next to him and says, 'Do you wanna hear a Kiwi joke? The big guy replies, 'Well mate, before you tell that joke, you should know something. I'm 1.90 m tall, 125 kg and I played as a forward for the All Blacks." "The guy next to me is 1.85 m, weighs 115 kg and he's an ex-All Black lock." "Next to him is a bloke who's 2 m tall, weighs 120 kg and he's a current All Black second rower. Now do you still want to tell that Kiwi joke?" The first bloke says, "Nah, not if I'm going to have to explain it three times."
  11. Looked like me today at the avalon airshow. Tip for beginners - don't stand behind an F-16 jet when the pilot throttles it up.
  12. Q. When is a pixie, not a pixie? A. When the pixie has his head up a Fairies dress - because then he's a Goblin.
  13. The two wires coming out of the dizzy are positive and negative. The black with a stripe is the positive and goes to the positive terminal on your coil. The black wire is the negative, and that wire connects to the negative terminal on your coil. Nice and simple. I have the exact same dizzy on my 5K. The coil i use is a scorcher brand which cost me $70. Its designed specifically for use with electronic ignitions. If your in Melbourne, i can give you the address of the ignition specialist i bought it from. The bushes on the shaft were worn (which is common considering the age of the dizzy) and so i had my dizzy reconditioned and recurved to suit my motor which cost me $150.
  14. Check this little bloke out. Apparently its a perfect run in GT4. http://www.sexnfun.net/2005/03/gt4child.html
  15. Ahh big-boys.com - A favourite site of mine If you want to see a kid that is in the running for the "dumb as a turd" award - then check this out. http://www.big-boys.com/articles/bumperhit.html
  16. CART TOP SPEEDS According to the Omega Timing site (omegatiming.com), the fastest : trap speed during the Fontana race was 245.528 mph (395.14 km/h) : by Jimmy Vasser. : Last year at Michigan, Paul Tracy recorded a trap speed of : 256.948 mph (413.52 km/h). The same site gives Adrian : Fernandez a trap speed of 333 mph, but that *has* to be an error. : The top trap speed at this year's Michigam 500 was 249.018 mph : (400.76 km/h) recorded by Richie Hearn. With a Ford motor :D F1 TOP SPEEDS The new (1999) record for F1 is 361.8 km/h = 100.5 m/s by David Coulthard at Monza. The highest lap average speed was 251.990 km/h by Mika Hakkinen during qualifying. This is still slower than the old Rosberg record (Silverstone, 1985: 258.983 km/h). BTW, the modern F1 cars are faster than the +1300HP turbo cars of the 1986 qualifying sessions, which reached about 343 km/h at Monza LE-MANS TOP SPEEDS The highest speed recorded in an European race was at Le Mans: The record for top speed in a closed circuit used to be hold by a WM at Le Mans (when Les Hunaudieres was still a 5 km long straight). at about 405-407 Km/h
  17. This is the latest that i know of. http://www.smh.com.au/news/Sport/Minardi-g...l?oneclick=true Not meeting Safety Regulations - Pffft They would have to be the safest race car ever (for the speeds they do).
  18. I work in South Melbourne (about 10mins from the albert park track) and could hear every gear change. Awsome sound!! Considering i'm 10 mins from the track and have heaps of high rise buildings in between, i can only only imagine what they are like up close. Not to mention the 2 FA-18's flying over, now that is noisy. Those things shook the factory.
  19. The coil that i run is a "Scorcher" brand. Its made especially for electronic ignitions. I suppose there is a standard toyota coil to suit your electronic dizzy. Or you could enquire about prices for an aftermarket coil - mine is aftermarket and cost me $70 from the bloke who re-curved my dizzy. I think an aftermarket coil would be your best bet. Most performance shops would be able to help you, or you could try ignition specialists. By the way, my dizzy is Nippon Denso too.
  20. I have a 5k electronic dizzy and would have to agree with Nick. On my dizzy the positive wire is Black with an orange stripe. The Negative wire is just black. I assume you have a coil suited to your electronic dizzy?
  21. I have a similar product to the phantom grip (same theory though) installed in my RWD ke30 corolla. Whilst on the road it works fine off the line and through corners. When i say that it works fine - i mean that the car steps sideways under power. On the gravel its even better - hehe. The bloke that made mine explained that they are basically used in rally cars and last about 2 years of regular weekend rally abuse. The setup that i have is basically a few springs sandwiched between 2 thick steel plates that exert pressure on the spider gears. So i guess its basically the same product with the flashy looks. It had a $250 AUS price tag too. Here it is. http://www.rollaclub.com/gallery/public_up...iff%20small.JPG
  22. I had a similar problem with a water leak inside the cabin years ago. It turned out to be one of the copper pipes (the one with the tap on it). It was leaking from the tap and so i replaced it with a genuine toyota one. $100 and something bucks later, it was fixed.
  23. i didnt actually know that. You learn something new every day.
  24. My fav way - Stage the car and apply just enough handbrake to stop it rolling (basically i mean, don't rip the handbrake on full). Grab 1st gear and then press the release button on handbrake so all you then have to do is release the tension when you want to leave the lights. (nothing worse than missing a start because your fumbling with the release button). I personally don't hold full revs on the line - i prefer to give it 2 quick revs and release the clutch on the third rev. (this takes a bit of practice...but it works for me). I usually don't leave the line with a heap of wheelspin either. I choose to simply slip the clutch a little. As for revving it to redline in each gear....well you know your car best. I find that if the car begins to flatten off at 6000rpm, well then theres not point revving it any further as it not making any more power. You would probably be best grabbing another gear instead of revving the engine just for the sake of it. This is just my preferred method - Its also not so hard on the engine and driveline.
  25. I too couldnt resist, so heres what i had to say. Modded Corolla Owner ([email protected]) Saturday, February 12 2005 5:39pm These corolla's are doing better burnouts than some of the holdens that i've seen at the easternats. Keep it up boys. These holden fans are just cracking the shits because their cars wont do that. As for toyota's being unreliable - well my 1.5litre has not seen a day when the tacho hasnt hit 6000rpm, and it has been doing this for 4 years. Unreliable - Pfft. As for the VL driver, well my '74 corolla has killed many a Commodore on the street. How embarrassing is that for you?
