  1. ive always had mine done the old fashioned way. heat gun and rubber mallet never had any problems with cracking paint, even with the old paint on one of my past cars. edit: IMO top 1/3 is all thats needed, as said it helps keep the guards shape
  2. i don't agree with dash mats. I think they trap the heat in once they get hot and make the dash more prone to cracking
  3. have fun, stay safe and take lots of photos! hope to join you guys next year
  4. theres your answer! didnt even think of that
  5. the amount of wannabe cyclists in Adelaide atm and the amount of idiot cyclists riding at 530am (still dark) without bike lights! i feel like hitting them to teach them a lesson.
  6. haha famous last words....
  7. yeah mate, but id rather get it all done right and in one hit.
  8. i usually just hold onto it until i take a car to scrap or the wreckers and leave it in the car
  9. nice work!
  10. I'm pretty happy with the date change as well, my car should be making some pretty decent power by then :)
  11. asap, its almost been a months since ive driven it! probably another month off being ready tho, by time i do all the suspension, front brakes, gearbox xmember, exhaust, stereo and guages
  12. saab's???
  13. your on the money scott, had been shortened to suit a S1/2 RX7. So ive just cut the mounts off and will be sending both diffs (hilux and stock) down to get the KE20 mounts welded on. Piss easy and means i can retain the same stud pattern and finally use those wheels i bought off you AGES ago :P
  14. haha yeah i got sick of snapping axles/tailshaft yokes plus I'm impatient and on uni holidays
  15. definitely wont have the KE20 ready in time so ill probably just come to the meetpoint, don't want to tag alone in a non rolla/toyota
  16. good work on with the diff, ive just finished cut/grinding off the old mounts on my hilux. My diff is 1415 wide, almost 100mm wider than stock but the wheels i bought for the rear AGES ago have a very positive offset. Ended up working out perfectly, diff width and wheel offfset makes perfect fitment for the 7inch wide rims. sometimes your just lucky.
  17. finished cutting/grinding the old mounts off the hilux today ready for my mounts to be welded on, a pic for good measure :P
  18. check my other spare door, its got a overrated brown door trim on it. PM me if your still interested in it

original paint to my knowledge yes hes had some pretty nice cars over the years.
  21. C.D.S Engineering were recommended to me, but I'm open for other suggestions. C.D.S Quoted $200-250
  22. got a bit more time to post on here now so... had the day off work so spent the day cleaning up the shed and driveway. Then worked on the car for a while. Fitted a fire extinguisher Removed the front brake backing plates off the spare struts i have ready to bolt on the bigger brakes Order some new pedders rear shocks, which should be here by tomorow. Shocks are "comfort gas" but are in fact 15% stiffer than monroe GT's AND THE HILUX ARRIVED! only had enough time to degrease it today but tomorow ill start grinding off the old mounts and hopefully take it down to get the new mounts by the end of the week.

that would of been Duj, who i believe just signed up on the forums today! username JUD Tis a very nice car, only 74000K's, hes planning on putting a 2J in it : )
  24. haha yeah I'm sick of breaking the rear end, not gonna happen for much longer though......... shorten hilux just arrived on a truck!!! ;)
  25. i had a H/D one in one of my cars, for the way it engaged you might as well go a cushioned button clutch. Plus the fact it slipped. Goodluck getting a replacement from them if your clutch is faulty as well........ But then as previously mentioned for a low-medium HP car i suppose they are the best option. I suppose i didnt really take that into account when posting, sorry. IMO a cushioned button clutch is a better option and allows for engine upgrades without the need to upgrade the clutch again. I would rather do things right the first time. So it really depends what plans you have for the car in the future.
