  1. the S3 auto diff is a 3.6 :lolcry:
  2. sumed it up very nicely there Taz Just thought id add that S1/2 are 24 spline axles and S3 are 26 spline axles. Therefore S3 diff/axles are a fair bit stronger. If you plan on running wide rubber/slick you may find the S2 to be a bit weak. you may find your twisting/snapping axles. Bit your not running a great deal of power so a S1/2 way hold up.
  3. nah they do torque steer a fair bit even with traction control on. Nowhere near as much as some other FWD cars ive driven tho. For example the CooperS would be right up there with the worst IMO The XR5 is a fast/fun little car. And definitely one you could live with everyday as a daily. p.s. if your in Adelaide and serious about buying one shoot me a PM
  4. YOU ARE MY NEW BEST FRIEND!!!
  5. you might find a 3.7 to be a bit long......... I ran a 3.6 in my old S2 RX7 for a while (before changing back to 3.9), but it was waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy to long. I'm talking 80 in first, 120 in second, 3rd was............... i think a 3.9 would be better if your looking for a taller ratio, altho i don't know why you really want to change it. I loved the 4.1 in my RX7. IMO 4.1 is perfect for an NA car
  6. there a bargain, snap them up!
  7. i think you'll be surprised to find the small weight difference between the two. And for added strength of the diff you couldnt complain. Plus if you have the power to smash KE diff then the added weight wouldnt be a problem. For example, the hilux in my S3 RX7 only weight in at an extra 35kgs heavier than the stock diff. It should also been noted that the hilux has an LSD and larger rear brakes, the stock diff only had a open wheeler. But your looking for a cheap/easy bolt in option anyway.
  8. id be keen for a cruise as well. add another white 20 with whitewalls and venetians, mine might be a bit faster tho :)
