  1. Thanks mate. Could you put up some more pics of the suspension setup ? (Particularly the rear end) The earlier pics don't work for me now. Cheers, Dougal
  2. Looks shmick mate ! I'm soooooo jealous, I really want to get mine in topcoat before the weather turns colder here in Melbourne.
  3. That makes sense. Cheers
  4. And if you have enough money you can make anything fast.... Sometimes we must ask ourselves; why bother ?
  5. Lol something with the right stud pattern is probabaly a good first step...
  6. Cheers, nice to know.
  7. Hey Taz, what T series diff are you running? (sorry I couldn't be bothered trawling through all 46 pages lol). How have you found it strength wise ? Had any issues? Also, what tyre specs are you running on the rear currently ? Cheers, Dougal
  8. Nice starting point mate, if I were you I would do all that I could to convert it to manual and get a manual license. Surely you know a friend/uncle or someone over 21 who can drive manual and help you learn. You will thank yourself in the long run :) I think you should choose the colour that you like the most. We are not going to be driving the car, you are ! As Taz explained above, when you rub the car back you will most likely encounter a few high and low spots in the panels that need dealing with. The car will most likely need a bit of beating and some filler before primer. A good way to find these spots is the method Taz described called "guidecoating". This is done by spraying a light "mist" coat of acrylic paint (from a pressure pack or similar), and then rubbing the paint off the panel with a flat block and sandpaper. Small amounts of paint will be left in the low spots and the paint will be removed in the higher spots. Sometimes you will rub through to bare steel in the really high spots. An example of guidecoat; Hope this helps, Dougal
  9. Nice job mate, paint looks great. :) What do you do for a job ? You have access to some useful facilities ! Spray booth, powdercoating, man that would be awesome....
  10. Lol good stuff. Nothing beats a set of sidedraughts :)
  11. For larger panels like that rear 1/4 give some paintstripper and a scraper a go. I have found that if you apply the paintstripper and then a layer of glad wrap it traps the fumes and strips the paint off more effectively. Once the paint has bubbled up take the glad wrap off and use a paint scraper/putty knife to scrape off the paint. You might need to give it two goes with the paint stripper (depending on how think the paint is). I then use a wire brush on an angle grinder or one of those "stripit" wheels to remove the remainder of the paint. Hope this helps. Good progress mate, Dougal
  12. Seen them on a fair few rollas and no I don't think anyone will flame you for it. Your car and your choice mate so don't let other people's opinions worry you.
  13. Looks great mate, a credit to you. :)
  14. Good stuff Cameron, looks great. How much did the Nolathane bushes set you back ? Cheers, Dougal
  15. I bet the induction noise is awesome ! :P Man I need to see/hear this in person...
  16. Agree with JP, keen to see where you are at with this.
  17. I noticed this for sale a little while back when there was the old eBay thread. Clearly a lot of time and effort was spent building this, it's not my thing though (nor is it in my pricerange lol). Agreed.
  18. Lol, that would be an ummm.....interesting choice. I think I will let others keep those ones.
  19. Cheers. Yeah, it looks to be a pretty good off the gun finish.
  20. Looks great Tally. Interested to know what ratio of thinners you have been using for the later coats. Cheers, Dougal
  21. Great work mate, keen to see the pics. :)
  22. Hey Guys, Thought I would share this LINK a mate sent me to an A-Z of Jap wheels. It's a really good format compared to threads I have seen on other sites. Great if you are trying to find the maker/name of a rim you have seen. Cheers, Dougal
  23. Good stuff. Is that a Pneumatic Speedfile ? That would be a very useful tool, bit easier than hand sanding !
  24. Lol that's pretty good. My grandpa had one of these for a while in his last few years to get around the retirement village. My brother and I had great fun driving round the village and putting it on two wheels, his neighbours complained a bit but he was not fussed and told us to continue. One year he went to the xmas party with a dusty old bottle of red to share and none of the other old folks would drink any. He took it as an insult and drank the lot before driving back home on the cart. Somehow on the way home he managed to roll it over! lol He told us the story with a few laughs afterwards and apparantley he had managed it another two times while sober. Funny old bloke! :laff: Nice.
  25. Hilltop at Festival Hall, Funkoars at the Espy early last year and Bliss and Eso at Sound Releif. Lol Funkoars was nuts ! Everyone just dropped their pot glasses at their feet when finished, and by the end of the night there was a layer of "gravel" formed by the broken glass ! My mate got hit in the head by a jug that was thrown backwards by someone, good show though. Also forgot to mention I'm really into Matty B he is great, really underrated.
