  1. bahahahahahahahahahaha
  2. this car looks beautiful. how much did the trd wheels cost you if you don't mind me asking?
  3. that was ok but you didn't get the sense of urgency of the original. on the plus side it does's better than most VL's. haha :P
  4. tally is correct. stud pattern is 4X110. same as KE1X, KE2X, series 1,2 and 3 rx7. (the wedgie ones) rx2, rx3 and the 808 versions. shouldn't be hard to find some 13's as a lot of people use them on there KE1Xs and KE2Xs.
  5. please let it be the V12 out of the new crown. *crosses fingers*
  6. this is what the site needs. can we change the rules to "EOI's must be at a set price" or something to that extent? good job of bringing this up gav.
  7. ok, looks like i'm free for this cruise. put me down as a definite, as long as i don't break the 20 in the mean time.
  8. i was down there last thursday, got talking about the car. he made it sound like he wanted to keep it for his private collection. car is very very tidy, not overrated but an original car that can be put to good user as a cruiser or daily. good luck to whoever picks it up. (if anyone)
  9. i know i wouldn't. my dad has one and it really doesn't need all this crap. it's already got leather, air-con, electric everything and even a 6.75l engine that will easily blow away 90% of cars on the road. this just makes me sad.
  10. yeh i am. might keep him for a bit longer. :P
  11. ah ok thanks. i'm thinking 17's will be better for my car. your car looks awesome with those wheels tho. :P
  12. my ke20 got 38.2 rwkw with 98 octane and no filter but still the air box. 4k + no emissions FTW! my car also wen't lean in the top end. the stock carb is very limmiting for making any power.
  13. nice. :P
  14. um, is that a small fire?
  15. today just keeps getting better. this afternoon in the post my owners manual arrived from SA. there are ware marks but nothing major, sort of what you'd expect after 40 years of bouncing round a glove box. not a bad score for $13. will get pics up later.
  16. oh forgot to add my ever tolerant father was in a book shop last week and got me a present. the master parts catalog and the toyota repair manuals for my crown. uber win! it starts at september 1967. and has all the supplements until april 1975!. this is making finding re-pro parts so much easier.
  17. looking good! this will be awesome when you chuck on the guard mirrors. what kind of fender mirrors will you be running? kp61 style or more chrome like the ones on the te72 gt on the first page?
  18. yeh, hadn't thought about that. i was just planing to take the 20. :P
  19. thanks, this stuff keep me going. i spent yesterday rebuilding my drivers seat and found 2 stripped bolts. so i swapped all the bolts in the reclining mechanism for HT ones. now it feels brand new. i don't remember seeing a early crown at center road, there was an early cressida but i'm unsure as to what parts i can get of it. there is a ms65 at pick-a-part in kilsyth but that looks to be no help.
  20. too easy, took 5 min on ebay. clicky or for something a little different.
  21. it's still there. but it's been stripped within an inch of it's life. from memory the only good bits left where the steering wheels and all hanging panels. it's sitting along the far side wall, up the back near the toyotas. it's right up against the wall of crushed cars about 3 deep behind some hillmans and maybe an austin i think.
  22. they gave them to the yanks.
  23. i reckon the look cool. very hot rod style. if i had them on my car i'd have just the plain 1/2 eyelid. but thats cos i'm boring.
  24. bugger, i was out at pick-a-part today and forgot to look. there are 3 ke30's out at center road but i don't know the condition of the rear quarters.
  25. well, the penny has dropped. my $400 crown might not be the bargain of the century. the list. (there is more to do other than this but this is what it needs for rwc) 1. windscreen cracked 2. front seat belts frayed 3. all door seals cracked. 4. drivers seat has too much free play. (not sure how i'm going to sort this one) 5. brake globe blown (fixed thisarvo) 6. idler arm, pitman arm and tie rod ends worn. 7. all wheel bearings worn out. 8. all shocks leaking. 9. center muffler cracked. (might do whole system at same time) 10. all tyres worn and cracked due to age. 11. RHF indicator lens cracked. (going to be impossible to find another, going to have a go at a repair) 12. free play in steering box. 13. an stabilizer bushes cracked. 14. rust around pro valve. (this was the thing that they where most worried about. it's a valve that equalizes pressure between front and rear brakes. it is leaking break fluid and has surface rust all over. does anybody know if any other car these where fitted too?) 15. pan hard bushes cracking 16. engine oil leaks. (just going to give it a clean and hope they have a look over it before it leaks again) 17. needs new front discs 18. rust in rear quarters (shown in pic) 19. hand brake adjustment 20. recommend full service (plugs, leads, oil, all filters, gearbox oil, ect) surprisingly i didn't need to get the damage fixed because the metal hadn't rusted yet. going to just give them a quick coat of primer and white so they don't rust before the next inspection. i haven't given up on the car because the list of stuff for the ke20 was much bigger and that turned out fine. i've estimated parts are going to be about $1500 so i might still get this baby on the road for less than $2000.
