  1. In a KE1x, the heater tap is situated at the front of the motor sort of where the green vacuum take of thingy is on yours. Presumably yours has been adapted to use a tap elsewhere? You can see how a K motor is plumbed in this shot. If you click on the photo it will enlarge
  2. The tierods are 555 brand just in US distributor boxes. He usually adds stuff. This time I got a few packs of old glass fuses, a set of points and condensor which I don't need, and a distributor cap of some other Toyota! Oh, and the religious booklets. But yes, a really good guy.
  3. This guy is very good http://www.ebay.com....lla ke&_sacat=0 I recently picked up a pair of inner and outer tie rods from him, and have bought from him often in the past. Feel free to make him offers. He accepted my offer of $USD25 pair on the outers and $USD30 pair on the inners. With post it was $93USD which is cheap. He also has balljoints at the moment. But you need to check whether you have fine or coarse thread tierods.
  4. Well make sure you let us know how you get on with it. And put up some photos of the car!
  5. Yes you need them, but unless you go coilover, there isn't enough room in the strut tower to pull them across.
  6. You will need to go coilovers anyway so you can adjust out some of the positive camber the struts will give you.
  7. I presume you mean AE86 front struts? I followed this route. When I did it there wasn't the option of a medium or tall size, so it might be best to talk to Gabe about it. Works well as it puts the insert at the bottom of the casing so you don't bottom out the insert. Edit: Sorry I should add that these are fitted to my AE86 and keep my shortened springs (not coilover) nicely captive. Gabe is well aware of the AE86 into TE27 route so should be able to advise you.
  8. Best bet is to take a couple of photos of the car and engine bay, plus a close up of the rectangular aluminium plate in the engine bay, usually on the firewall. At bottom right, click on "more reply options" and you should be able to add photos to your post.
  9. You guys just need to move to Melbourne!
  10. I knew there was a reason why you wrap the head in bubble wrap, take it to the machinist, come back a couple of weeks later, hand over lots of money and put said head back on engine......
  11. I know it's painful and delaying, but might be a good idea to source a virgin loom and save your modified one for the resurrection?
  12. As you do. I'd kill for that garage.....
  13. Hi Rolladudes/Dudettes I'm looking at a crowd in the US (goliners on ebay)that make headlinings supposedly to factory patterns, for every car that you can imagine. Having said that, it comes out at $300 US posted which aint cheap. The guy was kind enough to send me a sample of material. It has a different pattern from the factory headliner which is a queer dimpled pattern on a 73 KE25. Anyone have any experience of this seller, or a GOOD option locally? I'm not confident mine will survive removal and reinstallation and it needs to be changed to black anyway. Also flagging that there is a KE36 headlining currently cheap and not well identified on a certain auction site at present. Have checked the part number in the parts book. Was going to put it in the ebay thread but don't want you wagon types missing out. Not mine! http://www.ebay.com....=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
  14. I got some off the shelf about 2 years ago from Bayswater Vic. They still appear on their catalogue. http://www.rarespares.net.au/rarespares/SearchPage.aspx?type=partsfinder&pno=0&productgroup=PANELS+%26+RUST+PANELS&brand=TOYOTA&model=COROLLA&car=35A
  15. Rare spares make a small repair section for that area
  16. You didn't fail! You learned heaps. Amused and filled us with wonder! And seemingly had a hell of a lot of fun along the way. Do a Juddy, go away and think about it for a while with a return to standard EFI, then amaze us some more with No.3.
  17. There's a guy wrecking one in the US. See the For Sales thread.
  18. Having said that, I plugged the part numbers into a part buying website in japan that I use a lot, and the Calif version came up (others don't) Toyota 2562026050 $USD147.87 weight 0.42kg Parcel from Japan Doesn't guarantee availability, but you can lodge a formal query without committing to buying. They will then confirm actual availability. Would be worth checking the gasket etc too. Worth a try. Postage is usually very reasonable also. http://www.amayama.com/search?region=315&q=25620-26050
  19. I wouldn't get too excited. I would be fairly surprised if they were still available new. Main point is that knowing the part number allows you to check cross applicability across other models, and unfortunately you are limited to old uncommon models. But then that's what makes them interesting......!
  20. Part number comes up as common across KE/TE 3x to 5x but nothing else. But you could look at other cars from the period if you find one 25620 VALVE ASSY, EGR 25620-26020 (08/1976 - 07/1977) 1 $289.77 25620-26021 (08/1977 - 07/1978) 1 $289.77 25620-26050 CAL.& H.A. 1 $286.33 25627 GASKET, EGR VALVE 25627-26010 2 $1.11 25690 MODULATOR ASSY, EGR VACUUM 25690-26020 1 $95.96 25690A HOSE(FOR EGR VACUUM MODULATOR) 90445-11013 1 $9.96 25691 BRACKET, EGR VACUUM MODULATOR 25691-26010 1 91611-40820 *** STD. PART $1.11
  21. I think you are making a huge mistake here. Have a close look at the structure of the front strut tower, then have a look at the rear shock mount and surrounding sheet metal and think very carefully. No rear strut brace or anything like that will provide any strength whatsoever. You will end up pulling the rear of the car apart.
  22. The top of the shock absorber towers can't be expected to cope with this amount of load. It isn't feasible without extensive strengthening & modification.
  23. Well they are the only choice you have and I believe the door seals aren't supposed to be too bad. I have a complete set of the thai rubbers for mine but I am of a mind to try KE25 door seals which can still occasionally be found genuine. The thai boot seal is absolute rubbish. The Qld rear quarter repro seals need to be cut and mitred to fit or you get a kink at the sharp bend.
  24. Yes, definitely all black. Hopefully you won't need too much. The only things that are really impossible things are the seals.
