What Stenzel said regarding GVW. The owners manual is the booklet that Toyota give you telling you how the car works. I suspect Toyota know how heavy it is. As said, the weight of the car is 730 or 745kg depending on which transmission is fitted. And since the booklet was printed in about 1968, I suspect it wasn't weighed with a KE70 transmission in it.

Ae86 With 48 Km On The Odometer.
parrot replied to B.L.Z.BUB's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
A friend of mine has a TA23 I think, with delivery kilometres on it. I haven't seen it personally as it is stored away, but it occasionally gets displayed in dealerships with whom he is connected. -
He he, I believe you. I hope to get the AE86 into the odd hillclimb/autocross. Be just like the old days. Just swap the springs/shocks and go for it.

Per the owners manual: Wagon with manual Trans - 730kg (1606lbs) Wagon with Toyoglide - 745kg (1639lbs) Gross vehicle weight Wagon: 1200kg (2640lbs)

The SL (Sport & Luxury) was available as a 1200SL (3K-B), 1400SL (T-B) or 1600SL (2T-B) version And timgte, yours isn't a Sprinter, rather a Corolla. If it still has the original engine in it, it would have 10:1 compression if untouched. Edit: For completeness I should add; Sprinters also had an SL version, but I recall yours had the Corolla front on it.

Spotted a VERY hot KE50 in the carpark at Centre Rd wreckers No sign of owner inside though.

That KE25 looks like it was being driven to Woolies by my mum (says me from behind the wheel of my computer :D ). Love the old Lancer, what a weapon they were, & never seen a 2 door Stanza! Events thread sounds great.

The 4AGE extractors were gone today. There is an untouched MA61 there now. The electric windows are a direct bolt in for any AE86 owners out there (although you will have to wire it in).

A few older dealer stickers I have located. Very keen to get a good photo of Coupe74s LeMans Toyota sticker at some point. And if anyone has a good early AMI, would love that too. I also have a good Goulds one somewhere I'll post when I find it. Anyone with photoshop skills who feels keen, go for it.

Thanks guys. I have acquired a bare shell which I need to keep off the ground. Front suspension I have spare thanks to Dfunkt from ages ago, and I have a diff setup to go in, so just need the springs. Not to fussed about height. Looking in the parts book, the helper spring is larger as RA28GT says. I have found a donor so will simply remove the whole lot from it. Now just have to hope TE278U is happy for me to park the shell briefly at his place whilst I get it to a rolling stage, and time arrival for when the wife is away....

Hi guys. Looked in the wiki and searched without luck. Does anyone know if KE26 rear leaf springs are the same length as Ke25's?

Had 5 windscreens sent from Brisbane to Melbourne via E-go. This is the only time I have had experience with them. They rang ahead to arrange a delivery time and then two massive polynesian guys just picked them up out of the back of the truck like it was nothing, and popped them on the verandah. The price was pretty good too. Had heard mixed reports, but this one experience was very good. Generally I have found all courier companies are crap - whether it's a small or big item. Unless you use Marken or World Courier who are excellent always, but also hella expensive.
-
They're $17 posted. I reckon they are worth a go. And if they are bigger, as said just drill them out.

That's really awful Dean. Very sorry to hear this. In my line of work I unfortunately see things like this regularly. All I can say is that it is so important to have something in your life outside of work, and hopefully your love of cars will help you get through this as best you can. You will always have friends here.

I'm loving this thread. Most of us (me included) would just look for a replacement part. I'm hugely impressed not just with your effort, but the results. Can't wait to see the end result.

The cusco one is almost certainly designed specifically for a 2TG engine. Before buying one, you may want to look into whether it will fit your engine/carb configuration.

Have spoken to a mate who plans to bring along a very nice AE86 along with some amazing Honda Cub motorcycles. And these are a long way from postie bikes. -
Blue Slip 10 July, Help Needed Seatbelts
parrot replied to Addicted's topic in AExx Corolla Discussion
Wash the belts, you may find they will improve substantially -
There's really nothing to gain from these motors unless you are prepared to upgrade the cam duration, clean up the head and increase compression. Then you really need adjustable cam gears. If you try and go with more cam lift, it gets expensive. If you go big on duration, you need to abandon the factory ECU. And so on, and so on. It's a bottomless pit. In my opinion extractors are a waste of time, as the factory team managed to get plenty of kilowatts using a factory manifold. If the clutch is fine now, leave it alone. It should rev pretty well now, a lighter flywheel just means you hit the limiter faster. I would make sure your suspension is optimal and tyres as mentioned. It is probably a lot of fun as it is, A lot of often recommended changes will just turn it into a pig.

Awesome effort! Is that Chrome trim around the top of the bootlid? And who remakes their own bonnet trim!! And that console would be worth heaps over here.
-
I reckon it's aftermarket

Ke25 - Ae86/rx7 Front Brake Upgrade - Master Cylinder Change ?
parrot replied to boost's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Well AE86 is 13/16 as is TE27, and I am sure KE25. Not sure what engine you are going with, but there is a bees dick clearance if using a boosted TE27 master and a carbed 2TG. There will be other MC options but in other words you should be able to stick with 13/16 I should think. I suppose you need to find out the MC bore of whatever MC is fitted to the RX7 donor.
