How soon you looking at getting the MSD stuff Tom? Coil seems to be coping so far. Hopefully it keeps going long enough. Took it for a 3 1/2hr drive yesterday and didnt have a single issue. Ordered a Tridon Thermo switch today also, will get rid of the adjustable Davies Craig switch and the Tridon one will screw directly into the thermostat housing. I seem to have 2 temp senders for some reason, maybe old emmisions gear. The 2nd one on the passenger side will be replaced with the new one.

K40-50 Exedy Hd Kit Opinions?
Button part number was for Ev dogga. Remembered the 5k is a 200mm clutch. Dunno if they do a 200mm kit with a K series friction plate? Unless your running a 4k flywheel?

K40-50 Exedy Hd Kit Opinions?
Exedy in reply to both Posts. I used a Exedy Sports Tuff in my 30, I recommend it! TYK-6036HD for the HD and TYK-6036HDB for the button variant.

I had my MSD 6A installed and running in under 2hrs. Installation is easy. PM me if you need help. But being the programmable version, i'd say more time would go into getting it running/programming.

Got the diode installed today, works just like it should! Also got an SV21 thermo installed too, controlled by a Davies Craig thermo switch. Still a bit of adjusting but the fan's working awesome!

Lookin' good mate. Sounds good! I agree, 225ml into a 45lt fill up works out at 200:1 40-50ml into a 45lt fill up works out from 1125:1 to 900:1 :o

Yea, i do realise its a balast resistor model. I spoke to a local mechanic and he said i shouldnt have any issues with it. Either way, I'll be getting an MSD blaster 2 coil when funds permit.

Bought it 12 months ago off toymods. Brand new in box, uncut looms, stickers etc. $130 to my door.

Spotted a KE38 wagon in Morphett vale today. Never seen it around. Creamy coloured and on 15/16" in wheels. Looked to be in great condition too.

Its due to the MSD itself needing so little power to trigger it, current travels thru the charge light/ignition circuit. This keeps the ignition module thinking the key's still in the ignition, and hence keep suppying pulses to the coil.

And what's thad SLW? The Diode?

Well. After scoping around JNC, i had been convinced to install the MSD finally. Started on it tonight about 8:30- 9pm and had it up and running well by 10:30 :o Got the mounting taken care of straight away. Against the left hand side of the bay. Between the coil and headlight. Quite happy. Routed and connected the coil output wiring. Dummy connected the MSD coil and power input, then fired it up to make sure it was gonna run. And it did! So i then terminalled the factory wiring and pluged it all in. Ran the Power cables. Loom tube'd and tidied everything up. (Space saved for pics) Fired it up again and took it for a bit of a drive up the road. It was a fair whack smoother in the lower rpm than before. Went to shut it off and the sucker kept running  Googled my exact problem and found it to be the charge light wire now requires a diode in it to prevent current running thru that and keeping it running. Very happy chappy tonight!

Anybody Work With Cardboard?
Might be better off running the intake thru the inner guard as per factory?. Albeit thru a larger hole. Still getting air that hasnt been heated in the engine bay and is fairly well protected from the ram effect and differences in wind direction.

Just a good scenic drive, few twisties etc. keeps everyone happy  Did the whole day on under $30 fuel. Even that was with it running rich as all hell.
