The 3.8 V6 in the VS commodore is called the ecotec it makes more power it is a lot different to the old VN/VR 3.8 you have

The right hand strut got taken out today and cleaned and going to be painted tomorrow. we bought a parts washer they are the best things since sliced bread once you have them set up. Pics up tomorrow

The gearbok off a 4A motor most likely a T50 so it wont bolt up to a 4K you will need a K50 (5-speed) or K40 (4-speed)

I love the corollas because cheap parts motors are pretty much bullet proof your allowed to race them as a junior sedan and they have good fuel economy for the road and like gavclassic said you can put a motor out of a car made in the year 2000 in them.

if you got a 3.9 banjo diff out of a KE70 wagon/panelvan that would bolt in

as dan said they are a Jap housing and with a 4.5 you will get worse feul economy and rev the hell out of the car if you were to change centres go for somthing like a 3.9 it will rev less causing betta fuel economy
