I'm working on RA60 Celica struts with a coilover sleeve kit fitted. Disc size is 258mm and its vented.

Changed my mind on the brake upgrade on the front. RA60 Celica brakes are now on the menu which means my RA40 one's are for sale.

RA60 Celica has a disc rotor size of 258mm. Remember that.....

I'd say it would be the same strut and thats just an identifying mark from the factory it was made. If you shorten down these struts by 40mm and slap an adjustable coilover sleeve kit on it, they'd be great for racing/street use. I worked out with my brake upgrade i'm doing, i will have bigger brakes than a KH Laser, front and rear and my friends KH laser is sooooooo touchy on the brakes. :D

Just purchased some RA60 struts complete with LCA's castor rods, calipers and discs today, so I'm going the vented route :D

Yep, RA60 have 258mm Vented Front Discs.

Chemiweld wont fix that. Throw it away and get another block. If the pistons etc are good, strip it down completely and then throw it away.

I'm getting som RA60 celica struts, calipers, LCA's, and castor rod's in a couple of hours. I'll take pics when I get them back here and see if it matches what your mate has Ancullen.

Shorten your struts to reduce the positive camber. I'm now wondering if RA60 Celica struts will fit on KE30 LCA's because if they do, I'm going vented discs in my KE25.

12.7mm for an RA40 vs 20mm for an RA60 for example.

Apparently they also have the same bolt spacing at the bottom of the strut as RA40. Only difference between the two struts are the diameter of the centre hole of the disc and the fact that its vented.

He who hesitates, loses out. I've learnt that from past experience's. Thats why I snapped up the KE25 as soon as I knew it was for sale.

Yep, I went to ABS on Commercial Rd. BIll, i thnk his name is, is hooking me up with the parts I need. Just doing some more research on the size of my rotors and drums and this is how it goes: KE2x Corolla Rotor - 200mm KE2x Corolla Drum - 200mm RA40 Celica Disc - 254mm RA40 Celica Drum - 228.6mm So its definately a nice little brake upgrade that should see me stopping better and prepare me for my 4AGZE in the future.

Is it possible to get vented discs for the RA40 celica struts? I've checked the DBA catalogue online and it only lists them as solid discs....

That'll bolt back together and buff out :P
