Haha, in WA you've only got to have your L's for three months before you can sit for your P's, however you've gotta be 17 to get your P's (moped P's at 16 though). I think that we're currently going from 25 hours to 50 hours though. As soon as you hit 16 in WA, you can start driving on the road (stage 1 L's) which is bloody awesome. There was also talk of a curfew (midnight-6am) which I think passed legislation. I think we also brought in a no V8 or forced induction motor rule. They can bring in the two years; if they make it so you can start driving at 15 :y: that'd rock... Anyway... still a while to go yet...

So, basically, if you walked up to a car that has a siren with a shitty immobiliser, i could walk up, unscrew the siren, chop the wires, ditch the siren, disconnect/reconnect the battery... it would be demobilised? f@$king hell, if a 15 year old could pick that up, anyone would. Thats sad... Anyway, I find the best immobiliser is to simply pull the dizzy rotor out. Takes about 15 seconds under the bonnet of the car, good for when you park your car on the street. Only a smart theif would be able to work that out, someone with a fair bit of mechanical knowledge... once they do there shit and realise it won't start, they'll open the bonnet, be like wtf, then leave. Car theifs don't tend to hang around long. Sucks to hear it anyway mate. Like you said, best $1k you've ever spent. Dan.

Got a neon, originally to put behind the grille, but couldn't be f@$ked putting it behind there, so for the moment its an interior neon. Sorry about the shitty pictures fellas, but you get the picture.. sort of. Also heres a picture with the boot fascia back on, looks trick I reckon, better than it did to start with anyway. What next? Going to paint my dash surrounds silver, respray some of the other bits in the interior as well. Lined up some pursuites for it off a bloke at school, which should be good. 205 r15 rather than 185 r14's (which are on the car atm). Going to get some paint matched up so I can spray my boot and bonnet (which are faded atm) and the rear RH door once I find a replacement :) f@$k I'm lazy. Haha, and lappy, I'm a Ford man, but I'm hoping that the next car that I get will be a VN/VP.. or a NA/NC Fairlane. Good times. Dan

Try rubbing steel wool on your mates car.. I hope you like hospital food. Steel wool is a no go for paint mate, just give the car a good clean before you do it.

My bad. Wrong on two accounts ;) didn't know that they released the supercharged V6 in the VS either. There was something different between the VN/s1 VP and the later model Buick engines.. don't remember exactly what though.

Yep, still a year away from my L's. This is my.. fourth car that I've actually had at my own house. Btw, I live in a 728m block in the suburbs ;) but I've grown up around cars, got supportive parents :D. That was the second shot at painting the boot fascia (badges are only sitting in their spots). Not too happy with the quality, there are some blemishes when you look closely, so its off again to be painted. Planning on buying a neon to put behind the grill tomorrow :P You guys are gunna hate me.

Just to add fuel to the fire, I might remind you I just bought an EA ;) How about a Gemini? I know alot of the members here hate them, but they're not too bad of a car

I have a EB 4L head that I am looking at putting on the car, with the stock EA injection.. however the motor that I'll be taking it off, I'm unsure of the condition of the engine, i'm pretty sure that it needs a rering. Maybe the rebuilt 4L could be a better option... Yeah, it is registered until the end of October, which I am pretty happy with. I'm taking the plates in to the transport authorities all bent up, they'll give me new plates. Hurricane - would you be selling the LSD?\ Oh, and I painted up the boot fascia, twice now. STILL not happy with the way it came out, going to prepare it a little bit better and paint it again. Will post pictures...

The W58 is probably a better option over the T50, although I've never heard of many blokes frying their gearboxes in stocko commodores (alot of mates have VN/VP's and let me say.. they like to drive around in circles ;)). But, if you've got the W58 gearbox, and the T50's gunna cost that bloody much... take the W58.. thats what I reckon anyway. What about the flywheel though?
