  1. Its still a defect... Unfortunate Trav
  2. Not really interested in drag. Skidpan and track day is the way to go :D. I would LOVE to get into lakeside. Unfortunatly the track surface isnt much chop these days. QLD raceway is fine for me...what are you all winging about... oh...
  3. Maybe try a space saver out of an S13 of some description?? If youve got even bigger then your really stuck for options unless its 5 stud. Alternatively, just don't get flat tyres...
  4. The oil feed isnt nessicarily near the oil pump. On the SR20s and CA18s at least it its on the opposite side of the block to the oil filter. It will be as close as possible to the turbos to minimise the risk of line breakage, spraying hot oil onto the turbos causing a fire (it happens often in the mining industry).
  5. It was super expensive anyway or so Ive been told by a formula ford driver. Try Morgan Park. Ive heard the owners are a bit of a pain but its worth a shot. Otherwise we could all get together and go to a sprints afternoon at the giant paperclip (aka QLD raceway)
  6. take a hint guys....
  7. I imagine theyd be oil drain. AFAIK the 1G or 1JZ turbos use small lines for the water that go into the turbo next to eachother. The other fitting could be a drain to oil from the head...not sure. I doubt its a breather because its located towards the bottom of the cover. Sticking with standard twins or going for a bigger single??
  8. but unfortunatly for Xany, with johnny howard running the country, $100,000,000 in 20 years time will only be equivalent to what $1 is today...
  9. Shit like this loses valuable members like that one ^^
  10. then just change the crown wheel and pinion to suit your application...
  11. don't worry...I don't think he does either... Ive seen an SR20DE turboed SSS pulsar versus a 180sx with an SR20DET. Pulsar was limited to 10psi boost and this was pretty much his boost limit. The 180SX was running 12psi but was no where near its limit (Ive seen them take 20psi+). They were very evenly matched (the 180SX was probably slightly faster in the top end), but the 180SX had heaps more power potential.
  12. yea only when theyre left on the car. Theyd be ok in racks but you never know if theyve been on a car sitting for a few months. Its a gamble I guess.
  13. here here!!!
  14. I can vouch for this. Ive had heat wrap on my extractors for over a year now and love the stuff. You can feel a difference after giving it some stick. The extractors heat up and the next time you punch the accelerator theres magically more power... Its nice for highway cruising too.
  15. one thing you really need to watch with this is steel belt flat spots. If a cars been sitting for ages the steel belts will deform and develop a flat spot and you'll forever have a shudder in the car. My silvia came with near new Bridgestone GIIIs on it...but theyre worthless because theyre flat spotted. All theyre good for is skid tyres.
  16. quick google Base Curb Weight Is the weight of the vehicle including a full tank of fuel and all standard equipment. It does not include passengers, cargo or any optional equipment. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) Is the maximum recommended weight for a vehicle, including: the weight of the vehicle itself, fuel and other fluids, passengers, and all cargo.
  17. Loctite sell a few sealants that are solvent (fuel) resistant. You can even choose if you want it to set or stay as a gel/goop.
  18. Might be worth measuring up a TA22 gearbox crossmember. Theyre knotched so the exhaust can go under it without being too low.
  19. a picture (or many hundreds of them) is worth a thousand words. Theres so much that could be in the video that you havent explained that these guys recognise.
  20. lol I think I saw this accual car (the crashed one) at autobarn maroochydore yesterday. Looks like they tidied it up enough for it to be a rolling shell. Real mess but....
  21. That really wont get the expected/desired result. If you look at the Supra 6spd for instance (and most of the easy to find boxes are like this) the ratio for 5th is 1:1 and 6th is 0.793:1 (or 0.818 depending on which box you look at) compared to the 5spd with a 4th ratio of 1:1 and a 5th of 0.783:1. You can see theres two parts bugger all difference. I still wouldnt knock back a good 6spd conversion :) On the fuel economy front my 2T (1.6L) powered celica got 8.3L/100km (has been as low as 7.3/100 and thats not pussy footing) on the last fill with 60% highway driving. Its got a 32DGV weber, 4-1 extractors (heat wrapped...it makes a difference) and a 4.1 diff and its in need of a plug/lead/points change. Usually sits about 3200rpm @ 100kmph.
  22. giggle gas and spare motors for the win! What about a CA18DET. You can pickup an engine package for under $1000 if your lucky. I guarantee** instant 15 second, diff snapping action! Probably involves more DIY labour but it'll do what your asking. **Conditions apply...
  23. I'll be there....might even try to get the silvia finished (haha fat chance). Crazy clarks springwood is OK but its rather hard to get out of there and onto the highway cleanly. Most of the cruises Ive been on that have met up there, end up being split up on the highway which kinda sucks. I'll have a think about some alternatives.
  24. OMG ITS RUTS...no...wait...its just robbie williams...my mistake
  25. LOL I was just looking at this again today....and realised he hasnt got the water lines hooked up to the turbo. I doubt it will last long...but T25s are cheap disposable items...
