  1. The wreckers?
  2. suprafreak...brmm brmm?
  3. my sentiments exactly.... I'm dissapointed in myself for even going to 1. I WANT MY $20 back [cabin]!!!!
  4. lol. GO TEDDY!
  5. YAY DAVID!! I'm glad youve decided to keep working on it :D LOL sounds like a super dodgy TA22 diff conversion. So the AE86 is a wider track eh? I might have to find an AE86 T series...not likely. I refuse to pay through the arse for one.
  6. no doubt its in factory condition too... :D
  7. [cabin] are criminals.... and autosalon is crap. The first and only one I went to, I walked around, looked at show ponys that didnt interest me. Then went and watched the dyno for 4hrs. I imagine the magazine is much the same (just minus the dyno). Kuzuhiko Nagata (top secret president) got done for 310kmph in britan...but atleast hes a talented driver.
  8. Morgan Park is at Warwick Is that straight like...1km long? Hidden Valley looks like a great place to race...except for the heat I guess. But Qld raceways bad like that too.
  9. As far as I remember the carbys were the same size. The manifolds looked the same from the top. Youd be better off with a weber anyway :jamie:
  10. If you change the height of the pedistals you change the way the rocker applys its load to the valve. Thats why roller rockers have ajustable height so you can minimise the side load on the valve. I can't remember how theyre supposed to be setup but it might be worth finding out.
  11. Which doesnt change anything. Control fuji and you control subaru. It also means we could possibly see Toyota aircraft... lmfao
  12. Ive got a video of this from Teddy. I'll post it if he OKs it. There really isnt much you can do about controlling snap oversteer from a FWD...Maybe reef on the handbrake to get it to spin out. Other than that....just sit there and see where the car wants to go.
  13. Jamie to the pwnage!
  14. Seriously try windscreens obrien. I had to get the windscreen in the TA22 replaced and they had the windscreen AND rubbers in stock. Replaced it the next day if I remember correctly.
  15. thats what I get for skim reading...
  16. Did you keep it?
  17. Ive already seen the 06 WRX (privately owned, a couple of times, same car). The front is downright hideous. Looks like some sort of retarded alpha romeo...
  18. I have heard of people making double pumper Aisan carbys. don't know how to do it but. The flow of air will be away from the vac booster.
  19. Gigi Galli... I don't think his WRC career has been as good as expected (compared to that video) thus far...not from the parts ive seen anyway. More videos at... http://www.gigigalli.com/video.htm
  20. damn straight....
  21. Just for anyone thats interested... heres a comparison between bigport and small port intake manifolds.
  22. *cheers* Better late then never eh David :) I propose the "rollaclub trip to the snow" next year :(
  23. Original fuel pump was ditched about 4 months ago and the new electronic pump knows nothing but 98RON. Fuel filters and rubber lines etc etc have been replaced as well. Silvia wont be touching the stuff...simply because I don't trust it THAT much. $2000 worth of virgin SR20DET isnt something I'm willing to risk. HOWEVER! Ive seen huge improvements in power from a WRX they tested with heaps of different fuels (including fuels like ELF turbomax) and E10 98RON won out over other 98RON fuels like Optimax, Ultimate etc. Not only did it beat them in OUTRIGHT power (by about 10hp) it also won area under the curve. The runs were done in closed loop mode so the ECU tuned itself roughly for the fuel. I'll dig up dyno comparisons if anyones interested... I dunno if I'll stick with it or not...I'll wait till the end of the week and see if I feel like rejetting the carb to suit...
  24. "phat torana bro!!"
  25. Mileage is on track for the week. I usually get 35L/400km I still believe K engines run better on low octane fuel unless they have internal modifications i.e. higher compression ratio. Ultimate doesnt have any ethanol... Sooo many different myths going around. I think most of its just scare mungering. Few of the ones Ive heard Ethanol attracts water (hygroscopic). (I believe you can't have it both ways. Petroleum is a dispersant and doesnt mix with water well so what the ethanol trys to soak up is dispersed by the petroleum. I could be very wrong but) Ethanol attacks plastics. (This is true for certain plastics...fortunatly there arnt any plastics in my fuel system...) Ethanol corrodes engines. (Its the first time ive heard this but its probably tied in with the hygroscopic characteristics. I don't think it does corrode engines.) Ethanol has poor fuel economy. (Yes...sad but true "For every 1.5 mpg gas gives you, ethanol gives you 1 mpg" BUT! thats for 100% ethanol. Our fuels are limited to 10% ethanol. So your not gonna see a huge reduction (I havent)) Some good characteristics are that its a great decarboniser. But! It removes it in big chunks so make sure you run a good 98RON fuel before you convert to ethanol...or run it in your engine from new. Also this may help some people Now...while my car is pre 1987 I know it well enough and I am changing the fuel setup to suit the ethanol (theyd better not take it away from me!).
