  3. Howdy, A friend needs window tinting done, can anyone recommend a reputable company??? Thank you Lesley :D PS I searched for window tinting but came up with nix for companies
  4. The MR2 Club does an annual Great Ocean Road cruise, people from NSW, ACT and SA go. Info here: www.mr2club.com.au Lesley :D
  5. I'd start of being nice first ( you catch more bees with honey) and then if you don't get the result you're after, get nasty. BUT REMEMBER a letter will always get a response. Lesley :D
  6. One, I'm a chick, so looking at buff guys (not doing each other) in my mind is ok :D Two: It was in SPANISH so I couldn't understand anything!!!! LMAO I just thought it was laugh out loud funny! Lesley ;)
  7. you want a decent hills road where the speed limit isn't 60?? Try the road through ASHBOURNE to almost Victor Harbour.... :D it's FUN! Speed limit is 100!! and it's got twisties!!! 10pm on the Kersbrook road? Hmm maybe the pub closes around that time and that's why the cop was there? I was leaving work on Saturday night at about midnight. I did a moderate U-turn no tyre squealing, from the front of our shop and then put the boot in (this was all in a 50 zone by the way) there was a car on the other side of the road up a bit and wasn't sure what it was (my long range eyesight isn't fabbo) so I lifted my foot and probably was hovering at about 55klms dropping to 50 as I approached I realised it was a cop with a laser gun!! I thought "oh crap I'm stuffed" and kept to the speed limit, he didn't take chase so I was ok. I wondered why he was there, then the penny dropped, the pubs close around midnight, he's probably out catching speeding drunks! But people who habitually speed, will always speed, then when they lose their licence they might think about it and review their driving... Although getting a photo of you speeding isn't as much of a deterrent as actually getting pulled over by a cop with his lights flashing....... Lesley ;)
  8. OK, here's my take on the situation from what you've told us: Everything else in the test was sweet, however when *someone else* broke the law by tailgating you, you kept your head and remained at the posted speed limit (or close there to... 2klm is nothing they don't bust you for going 2klm over so why would they bother busting you for doing 2klm under). Although, are you sure you were in a 50 zone and not a 60??! Now when you approached the school zone you reduced your speed to acocmmodate school children. The only thing I can think of that the driving instructor has done is perhaps mis-worded your fail. Is it possible that there were no school children present, thus making the 25klm limit moot? However, if you took your test when the 25klm limit WAS being applied, then I would wholeheartedly write a letter (think non offensive I might put something together) asking for clarification of what exactly you did wrong, so you can better prepare for your next test, or if the tester was at fault, a credit towards your next driving test. Lesley :D Here's some thoughts on a possible letter for you, feel free to completely ignore it ;) or use parts or all of it: Dear Sir/Madam, Re: Final Assessment taken at 3.10pm on Monday 16th October I attended the XXXXXXX to undertake my final assessment with an instructor by the name of XXXXXX. I felt that I performed well, although possibly doing 48klm's in a 50 zone may be classed as too slow by some people, however I believe that being a little nervous and this being my final assessment 2klm's under the speed limit was negligible. ****Recount the tailgater and the school zone here**** However, I was shocked that my instructor told me retrospectively that when I was tailgated by the gentelman in the commodore I should have sped up. I believe if I had done so, I would have broken the speed limit and what if the tailgater kept on tailgating me? Should I speed up some more (perhaps to warp speed!!)? I know most people when they fail a test try and blame some one else for their failings, but I assuure you I take full responsibility for doing 48 in a 50 zone, but that I truly believe that I was failed for a reason that isn't based on the road laws. Would it be at all possible for you to review my test results and advise me if there is any possibility of me being correct in this matter? Should you find that I was within the road laws would if be at all possible for you to credit me with the cost of the driving test so I can re-do it? I look forward to your response. Yours sincerely, Chet
  9. sorry your car got stolen, hope you get it back in once piece. Lesley
  10. 83,105 signatures, I'm sure we could let more people know......
  11. I don't think it's the amount I've drank tonight, I think it's the Notebook's keyboard, but when I typed the address for the rolla club, I typed in: www.rolaclub.com missed an L lol spansh gay porn site!!! LOL :y: Lesley :)
  12. itsy bitsy gitch with the standard HD Sportivo clutch.... IT COSTS $5,000 YES, FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!!!!! I just about fell over, well actually, i collapsed into a chair with my head in my hands 5 grand! OMG So Toyota recommended an after market clutch for a measly $400 I mean really, who'd spend $5K on a clutch???!!!! But I did get to check out my new engine, its all shiny and the cross hatching is in the ports and everything is so new and well, shiny!! It's about 3 weeks to go till I get broomdie back!!!! Lesley :)
  13. WOW that's a fantastic album, thank you for taking the time to put it together and sharing it. It's great to see so many show-class cars in one place, it makes me want to wash and polish my cars!!!! ** I like the purple rolla - nice paint job ** 100-126 And I drooled over the red supra! *so want one* Lesley :y:
  14. Thank you, HD Sportivo Clutch it is :y: I should have my new and improved broomdie back in 2 1/2 weeks!!!! CAN"T WAIT!!!!!! Lesley :P
  15. OK, well as you may (or not) know, my broomdie is getting a new engine, exhaust manifold, water pump and turbo (under warranty thank the big guys upstairs) and I got to thinking, since she's in bits I may as well get a new clutch. Now I do a lot of driving (I've done about 30,000 klms in the last 6 months) I do a variety, hills, freeway, city, peak hour etc,. normally I'd go performance rather than cost so I made some enquiries about brass button (I'm pretty sure that's what they're called) clutches, or whether to stick with the HD ones that came in the AE112R Sportivo Turbos. My mechanic knows the way I drive and says I'd enjoy the brass button clutch, but it would be a bitch in peak hour. Has anyone upgraded to this type of clutch and if so, how do they find it?? Also, if any one has an opinion on clutches that they'd lke to share, I'd be interested to hear it. Oh, time is of the essence, I have to decide by Thursday (and I'm leaning towards the HD sportivo clutch) Thank you Lesley
  16. but SOOOO worth it. If I had'nt have been so in love with my current car and impatient, I would have had an RAA check done on it and I wouldn't have bought the car. The report would have shown up the cracked exhaust manifold, they may even have been able to tell me about all the other things that went wrong with it (luckily I'm covered under warranty but if I wasn't I'd be looking at over $7000 in repair work....). You may think it's expensive, but it's good so you know you're not buying a lemon. Lesley :y:
  17. did you know that if the lights are changing and someone is on your tail you can go through as it'd be more dangerous to hit the brakes and possibly cause an accident. As for locking up, my dad always told me, if you're braking hard, lift your heel. Try it, the weight transfer by lifting your heel stops the slide/locking up etc., Lesley :y:
  18. thank you :2thumbs: I usually check new threads every day, and it wasn't there, I tried searching for things I remembered (the corolla cake, the supra that I posted etc., ) but couldn't find it :n: Lesley
  19. AND I CAN"T FIND IT!!!! :2thumbs: so before I forget they're going here *temporarily* D'oh, it didn't work, I know it's technically more than three, and you need super eyesight to see it.... ok, it's as this here link.... http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/modul...hp?StockID=4108 it's a pimped out van with a radical body kit *lol*
  20. oh, I do THAT all the time :2thumbs: (well to 4500-5000K) very rarely get to the dark side.... I did it once, accidentally, and the inhibitor kicked in, engine stopped revving (until I changed up a gear) and I almost had a heart attack thinking I'd blown up yet ANOTHER engine (looooonnngggg story).
  21. this is the car he has:
  22. I'm also getting a new clutch, and a water pump, and my bumpers in getting repaired, they said that my car had a VERY hard life before I owned it. I'm just lucky the Toyota guy likes me, have to think of a fabbo christmas present for him... any suggestions?? He races an RX7, he has a subaru thing you know the coupes with the funny windows - all the ones I've seen are burgundy and I think he has a couple of other cars...... Lesley :2thumbs:
  23. it's been relisted! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=190037657950 Lesley :2thumbs:
  24. I'm afraid to take it over 5500, at 5500 in 5th trees are whizzing past me, I'm whizzing past other cars and the car's whining her head off!!! hmmm maybe after the new engine goes in I'll see how far she'll go....
  25. OMG I hope your wife and sons are ok, as for the speeding ticket, I got one when my daughter broke her arm and I was speeding to the hospital with her NO empathy from the cop, but then I was speaking to the sargeant my local police station and he said I should have written a letter explaining and they would have waived it. So if it comes in the mail, write a letter!!! Lesley :2thumbs:
