Just do some work to the 5k mate. You'd be suprised how well you can get them going with a little work..... I'm talking NA btw. IMHO thats a much better option than say converting to a starfire :) .....and a V6.... well thats just a retard on viagra! :)

I can never remember which one is which, so I'll edit the thread and title. Thanks Tor. :) I took a couple of phone pics last night, just gotta bluetooth them to my lappie and I'll post them up.

I used to use a 32/32 DTMR-A from a Fiat 128 which loved the boost from the get go. I did get some fine tuning of the jets (on a dyno) but was still pretty good to start with, just got a bit too rich when it first boosted up. Only other thing I did to it was fit a bigger needle and seat from a Falcon weber. You don't HAVE to encase the whole carby. Make sure the gasket and all other seals are good and you can just get away with a top hat. I probably wouldn't use a CT9 as frankly it would be too small. Yes I know it came from a 1300cc motor but just trust me on it. :) I would reccomend using some sort of WRX turbo (like my old TD04-L) as they have a food compromise of bottm end, and top end power. You can then late upgrade to an STi ballbearing turbo if you want. Alternatively, use a T2 (T2, T25, T25G T28 etc) flanged turbo like my current setup. I would reccoment these over the WRX one for several reason: They're readily available and cheap from guys doing upgrades on there CA/SR's They're well matched in size for a 4/5k. And there is HEAPS of possible upgrades in the same flanges, ie GT28, GT2560R, GT2871R etc etc etc. Oil line are easy. Feed comes from the bottom of the oil filter housing where the low pressure switch is. Just T-piece it to keep the switch also. Return just goes back into the sump, so you'll have to weld on a fitting. Fuel system info can be found here.... http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=17418 I'd highly reccomend spending the extra coin to do the surge tank setup (rather than the Carter black) as the carter can cavitate after a while and drop all pressure. Click "Tar" in my sig below to see my project thread. :)

I knew you could use them, I was just encouranging Jono to find it himself. From memory the TA22 flywheel has a 190mm clutch diametre whereas the 3tc (T18) flywheel is 200mm. Both motors use T series boxes so the input splines are the same, and the both have T series cranks so the flywheel bolt pattern is also the same. So like you said SLW, swap the whole lot - Flywheel and clutch and away you go. :)

PM Camerondownunder. He had some drums/wheel cylinder for sale a couple of weeks ago cause I remember asking him about the twin cylinders they use. Just had a look in his thread and the pics have been deleted so ask if he's still got it on his PC. :)

Forget the carcoal canister, but you would want to connect the vac advance. I think others have had the same issue and just drilled/tapped a small fitting into one of the runners.

Some pretty cool parts on there, thanks for sharing! :) Yes some of them are a bit expensive, but they look like top quality stuff. Cam did you notice they also sell hydro K-T bells?

And how are you going to control said injectors? What I'm getting at is you really need an aftermarket ECU if you want to start playing with things like that. Otherwise your ECU is just going to open the bigger injectors for the same time as the old ones and hence just give you a mega rich tune.

Thread contents and title changes as I had Zenki's mixed up with Kouki's. :lolcry: Something I discovered on the weekend and mentioned in my projects thread, thought I might chuck it up here so more people see it. I've had a Zenki T series from a T18 laying around for ages which is planned to go into my turbo car. Finally got around the stripping it down on the weekend for a reco and leaf conversion. As soon as I pulled the axles out I though to myself - "They don't look much bigger at all than a stock KE55 axle". So I thought I'd investigate it further....... So I sat the (Zenki and ke55) axles next to each other. And to be honest if I had to pick one as being bigger I would have said the 55 one. "That couldn't be right" I though. So I tried to put the 55 axle in the Zenki centre..... and it wouldn't fit, but this could of just been because of a different number of splines. So, I then put a Zenki axle in a 55 centre I had...... and it went in...... but what really amazed me was the fact that when I tried to turn the axle it spun freely inside the spider gear spline!!!!!! So, A KE55* stock axle is actually bigger than a Zenki one!!!! :) :laff: :lolcry: I'm now a bit unsure as to what I should do about a diff upgrade. I've busted a few 55 axles already and I really don't know wheather its worth downsizing the size of my axles just for the sake of an LSD. Does anybody know how much bigger Kouki axles are over a Zenki one? And does anybody know if you can put a Kouki centre and axles into a Zenki housing? *AFAIA KE30 axles (Borg warner) are the same size. And if people say you can put KE30 axles in a KE20 diff with 5mm trimmed off the ends (for 4x114 conversion) then KE20 are the same size as well. So, what might be an even more suprising way of saying it is - A KE20 has bigger axles than a T18!!! :)

2871R? I know somebody who just blew the shit out of there 4A with one!! :)

Forgot to mention..... recognise the drag strip in both vids! :) Personally I think even just a well sorted NA 5k would be better than dropping a heavy old v6 in it.

You're getting good at selling Jip's parts for him hey Rod!!! :)

Yeah the sticks are handy. I sent mine to Madrolla68 in perth to originally get a map on mine, made life a bit easier base mapping it. You can also store a second tune on them, then you just go into the ECU setting and click "Run ECU from cartridge" and it'll run that second map. It look like the Carter is a 4594 which is 72GHP at around 6-8PSI. Hence its no good for a pressure pump (like how I used to run the Carter black (4601)). So its only good for a lift pump. If you want to use the facet, I'll buy the carter as my new lift pump!!! Surely used have an old VL main pump laying around somewhere?

You seem more interesting it what it sounds like at idle than what it'll go like so just remove 1x spark plug lead. :lolcry: Seriously, there's several fresh thread about K cams lately. Go look in one of them. :)

So you have a KE1X or KE2X with 4x110 right? If so you'd be crazy to want to re-drill simmons...... considering you could just find a set from an early Mazda RX (and it seems 50% of early RX's have simmons :) ) in 4x110. Spacers (slip on or bolt on) are illegal in all states AFAIA.

Welcome to rollaclub :laff: :) KE30, Buick V6..... http://www.youtube.com/user/etpulsar#p/u/4/I1b4fbRZ3o4 14.6 KE55, 5k Turbo.... 14.5

Just the little hole in the back side of the actuator? If thats what you mean it just a breather port otherwise the back of the actuator would pressureise. Whats the part number on the Carter? Should be four numbers.

I think you missed uncle shadey's point. :laff: Nah they just work there! :)

Go for a drive around guagebrook...... serious! :)

Is that the 15 pin (VGA) to 10 pin (serial) lead to connect your laptop to the ECU? I tried to find mine on the weekend as I was going to have a play with the tune but I seem to have lost it and the serial>USB too...... $180 worth of cables! :) If I paid for postage both ways, any chance I could borrow it off you? And if you've got one of these.... http://wolfems.cart.net.au/details/106560.html You could sent it to me too and I'd load you my map onto it to get you started.

Yeah Teddy'd "Blue Car" project has over 1/4 of a million views. Probably one of the biggest in this section...... Hell I've got 20,000 more views than OKE020!! But really....who cares. :laff: Phil - Yeah Endevours add had that pic of my engine bay for over a year or so. They used to have a youtube link to my vid in the add aswell. Now just says "can be seen on youtube". I'm keeping that fact up my sleeve should I ever need a favour or discount from them. If not a comment on said youtube vid could somewhat prevent future sales. :lolcry: Drive Tar to work this morning. 5*C inlet temps..... gotta love tassie winters with boosted cars. :)

Posting them isn't a prob. You get yourself a quote for freight though. My post cose is 7250. $250 without tyres for cheaper postage if you want.

Using a 5k as a compromise between torque and top end. Yes I could probably get a bit more bottom end with the 7k, but I'd also loose the "rev happy'ness" of the 5k. Rev limiters currently set to 7500rpm. Yes the Gilmours are K specific. They were made as part of a group buy nearly a couple of years ago through Endevour engineering in NZ. After the group buy they actually put them into normal production though and they can be had off trademe. Little bit more than what we paid...... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-294405701.htm Pulled my Kouki T series diff apart yesterday to clean it up ready to have the coil mounts ground off. I was very suprised at something I found when doing it........ Did anybody know that a Kouki T diff has smaller axles than a stock KE55 diff!!!??? I sat them side by side and the K one did look slightly bigger. So I tried to put the K axle in the Kouki centre..... and it wouldn't fit. Then tried to put the kouki axle in a K centre....... and it did fit..... and then turned inside the spline! :) Might try and take a pic of each side by side.

Small update: I've had some Pedders Gas shocks laying around for about 18 months now with the intention of putting them in Dirt (as I'd like som koni's for Tar), but now that I've basically decided to "wreck" Dirt there's no point..... so I put them in Tar on the weekend.... well tried to anyway. :D When I bought the shocks I didn't realise that I should have got the propper pedders gland nuts for them as you can't use the wet legs ones. Managed to sort that issue and got the propper ones. Big thanks to Mark (ke20rolla) at pedders for sorting this for me. So now they're in I took it for a drive last night and :abuse: .....I had no idea just how rooted my wet legs were!!! :P Its soooo much smoother in the front end now. Handles even more like a gokart too. I think the only reason it handled as well as it did before was the advans.
