How come you weren't in the "family shot"? Camera shy?

PM Trev. He makes manifolds for a living. :jamie:

Top work mate! :jamie: If only every teenage girl had a dad who would mod them a rolla!!!
-
Have a look for a projects thread by ke20rolla. He did an auto to manual conversion in a 55 (but same as 30) and has talked about the issues he had in that thread. Look for his 55 projects thread, not the ke20 one. :jamie:

Note that Razzacaine hasn't responded! :jamie: Do you think maybe somebody ate a little too much humble pie!?
-
Has the clutch been taken off it since it was removed from the last car it was in? I can lend you a "K series clutch aligning tool" if you want!?

Looking good Evan. :jamie: .....however did you heat-wrap the stock cast ex manifold? :jamie:

Raven's Ke25 Corolla Memorial Rebuild - Now Parting Out
Taz_Rx replied to Raven's topic in Rollaclub Rides
I'm going to dissagree with the above 5k vs 12a comment. You know I like my K's and I will always stand up for them, but hey..... The RX in my username has nothing to do with rollas. Hopefully you can see I have the credentials to be taken seriously. Anyway, a stock 12a with a Nikki and a stock exhaust is deffinately no powerhouse. Hence why the first thing most people do is fit an IDA and some extractors/exhaust. As soon as you do these mods it'll open it up a heap!!!!! A worked 5k wouldn't beat the stock 12a, but it would keep up with it a hell of a lot better than most would expect. If you had a race between something like the TRD brothers old 5k powered ke70 rally car and a stocko 12a gen 1 RX7, I would lean toward the KE70 if I had to pick something as quicker. -
The tunability is all in the ECU. You will need some appropiate sensor for the given ECU too but thats no major drama. Most aftermarket ECU's use MAP sensors, not AFM's, but this may be built into the ECU anyway. You'll probably need a new water and air temps sensors at the least.

Once she starts realising SHE can actually control her hands she'll hate having those gloves on cause she won't be able to pick stuff up. :jamie: Then once she's live 7-8 months old it become near impossible to try and clip their nails. Would be soooo much easier if you could just put their finger in a bench vice!!! :jamie:

I think you're really starting to make mountains out of molehills here cam. It's really pretty simple. Exedy do sell clutch plate/pressure plates etc etc seperately, so just tell them you want: 1, Normall KE3X-7X full kit, but with a KE1X clutch plate. You can get a heavy duty 3X-7X option which sould have higher clamping force. The clutch plate will just be a stock organic one though. 2, Get a full KE3X-7X heavy duty kit as above, but tell them instead of a 21.6/19T centre you want them to put a 18/16T centre in the 3X-7X heavy duty plate. It'll cost just slightly more as it'll be a custom clutch plate, but everything will be heavy duty. FYI - When you star looking at the upper end of Exedy clutches the price can go up a lot quicker. My K-T HDCB kit was like nearly $400, and I paid cost plus freight!!!!

Yeah AFM is about the only thing tunable. Definately worth going aftermarket ECU. Try and find something cheap that also has ignition control like this maybe... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Wolf-3D-ECU-hand-co...=item35aa2ee16e You can then also upgrade your injectors as they'd be near maxxed out already on a worked 5k. If you've already got the EFI on and running you'd be absolutely INSANE to remove it for any form of carbies. :jamie:

:jamie: Its fun how they'll rip the shit out of there own face first though hey!!! Is she off the tube feeding yet? Oh and congrat man. :jamie: Should have finished those projects first. they'l take you years now.

Was up in the middle of the night with Byron Friday night so didn't get up till lunch time! ;) Didn't think there was much point going out then. How did the excel go? Keen to see some vids if you got some.

Oh lucky you replied actually - If I do out to Symmons I'll chuck that fuel pump in the letter box for you!!

I've been keeping pretty quiet on weekends lately cause of the kid, hence I didn't even know it was on. :D Don't have coin for it this weekend either cause my S2 and club membership has expired. Might come out for a look at this excel in action though!! :( Would be great to see some other rollas out there. Cone......... bashing

Bottom line. NO you can't use a T series dizzy in a K.

Befor we answer any question I think we need to clarify with engine the Xe7X has in it. You've said 1600 HICAM!! Well no K motors came in a 1600cc, but K's were badged as "HiCam" in KE70's. On the other hand there is no "HiCam" 4AC (AE71 motor), but 4AC's are 1600cc. Get back to us as to which you've got an we can carry on.

Yeah damaged again, not sure how much yet. Still better than not getting it back at all. Its locked up in my parents shed, but in the last months they've had kids snooping around trying to break in, as mum and dad both have bikes in the shed too. Dad chased them off one night then they came back the following night and tried to break into a kitchen window. I would never live in the greater city of glenorchy ever again.
-
Got it back again. One of his mates saw it being ridden around bridgewater and rang him to tell him. He went out and chased the guy, who dumped the bike and fled on foot. Aparently my bro then got chased on the bike by some bridgewater bogens so he just rode it straight to the cop shop.

You picked up the S15 BB T28 for $150????? If its too big I'd swap you for something smaller, like a T25G! Yeah thats a WRX TD04-L. The turbo thats some wanker was trying to tell me last week would be too big for a 4k......
-
Did you replace the points when you did the leads and plugs? If so maybe they're slipped and closed up a bit. They don't normally just go "out of timing".
-
Nah not iridium, just normal NGK. The centre electrode is much lower (you'll see what I mean when you get some) and is supposed to reduce the spark getting blown out under boost. I run the 7's and I know a guy with an R32 skyline who does too, as well as another guy (who told me about them) who uses them in a supercharged 202. So yeah, they're a pretty versatile plug. I actually want an S15 BB T28 for my car. Would be fine on the 5k, only slightly laggier on a 4k. Would still have better response than a bush bearing T28 casue of the ball bearings though. Here's a good pic of my J-pipe.... Length doesn't really matter that much. Just put it somewhere were its easy to work with.
