Here's the pics of Des's dirty engine: (The clean side, well cleaner) (Well umm i think you know what side this is)

If you can get a fully reconditioned T50 for $440 then grab it, A rebuild cost on average 1400-1600 bucks.

One final pic of the engine bay before the wiring gets fully done, Chopped out the K engine alternator and external reg harness, Pulled the coil wires out from the drivers side harness so i can extend them over to the passenger side, Removed excess wiring. To do list: 1. Hook up tacho and guages. 2. Tidy up and reloom wiring. 3. Wire in fuel pump wiring to the back so its all good to go when i get the pump. 4. Make up earth sraps and power wire to the starter. 5. Install a distributor controller or buy a AE82 4A-C dizzy.

Looks tuff as, I bet the 2TG goes well in it.
-
Ha well would you beleive its also a key turner, I'm still cleaning up the unused wiring but she winds over very happily.

No worries.

If you want i will take a pic of it on monday, I still can't believe there was a 4age that was covered in more oil than mine, LOL.
-
That means i gotta take the bloody rear wheel off, Ha.
-
Well it will be worked on once the layer of power steer fluid is removed :abuse: This thing should hammer nicely with the bottom end and head combo.

My car was built from a brand new shell by TOM's Japan for Tom's Toyota Racing GB (England). its first race was Spa 24 hour(Belguim) in 1987. After winning its class in the British Touring Car Championship in 1988 & 89, it came to Australia as part of the Bob Holden team. The car raced in the Aust touring Car Championship from 1990-93. When GpA racing finished it had no class to race in so it was safely put away till I got it going again in 2007. It is still in the same format & livery as it last raced at bathurst 1993 Engine 4AG "small port" . Motec computer and quad throttles. extensive internal development transaxle C52 with TRD close ratio gear kit and LSD. short shifter brakes front AP racing 4 piston alloy calipers and full floating slotted vented rotors rear FX-GT rear discs with front calipers. Mazda 6's and i think a few others have factory soft/loud mufflers that open up more when you get higher in the rev range.

Well I'm not quite finished, Still needa buy a fuel pump and extractors, All the other stuff i need hopefully i will be able to mod or make custom. Engine is finally in but i forgot that the KE70 has a different gearbox mount point to the AE71 so the gearbox x-member i have is useless, Some pics:

Thanks, Got the helicoil kit today but was too flat out to do anything with it, Going into work in the morning to fix it up and bring it home, I will be very pissed off if i can't bring it home, It wont be running straight away as i still gotta rebuild the carbs, Get extractors and organise a dizzy controller, I have also blown my budget out so its now over the 2k mark but shit happens.

Thats a big difference, Pity bout the brackets but I'm sure you can sort something out.

I took this the other day at work, I had a drain tray under a car so what you see is a mix of degreaser, oil, grease and water.

Bah engine is still at work, List of things to still do: 1. Lighten flywheel. 2. Install spigot bearing (should be arriving tomorrow). 3. Clean cams up. 4. Install flywheel and clutch assembly. 5. Fill injector holes. 6. Install helicoil into head. 7. Braze up cooling pipes so they are flared, Have been cut up into required lenght already. 8. Fit new timing belt and front cam cover assembley aswell as harmonic balancer. HOPEFULLY this should be done tomorrow as I'm hanging to get it in the car, I only get 30-40 mins in a lunch hour to do anything to it and then from when i finish at 5 till whenever so i don't get much time to do shit.

Slim was here earlier today, I said i was going to paint the chassis rails and radiator support black, Well he pursuaded me to do this: It don't look as good in the pic. There is no engine going in tonight, Only the top of the FWD sandwich plate fits (I was told that may be the case) so I'm going to littleredspirits tonight to get his 4a - t50 sandwich plate and hopefully i will finish the engine tomorrow then, Today wasnt the best as i only had 3 hrs on the engine and i couldnt use the compressor as we arent in an industrial area so here is what i got done: Before you ask what is up with the engine paint: The paint on the engine is still wet.
