  3. Hi all , I'm currently seeking a new daily ride, my thoughts are 03 Caldina or 04 Stegea . I have two small kids , Stagea has the advantage of space - Caldina has the advantage of being a better city car. I have read nearly every forum & post on the subject of comparisons just looking for some Rollaclub Feedback as most Rollaclubbers keep it real ! Both have pros and cons, I just can't decide....
  4. New gaskets fitted with old fashioned non hardening gasket cement such as Permatex. Try to avoid silastics/silicones in this instance.
  5. All the good tapes are clear in colour and are VHB (very high bond) . I have people using this tape for mounting gps sensors on the outside of earthmoving equipment etc. This shows that the tape will perform well exposed to the elements. 12mm & 18mm sizes are the most popular.
  6. I have used a special tape for this previously without a drama. In the event you wanted to remove them , simply apply prepsall or glue removers and off the come with no paint issues. You must make sure the surface is well cleaned before though. Pm me if you want either the tape or a fast dry MSP Urathane adhesive .
  7. Vaccum leak, check the Carby base gasket & inlet manifold gasket.
  8. It's the in cabin nitrous feed to the supercharger !
  9. Be sure to grease all pivot points and slides too.
  10. Nice ride, such a shame you spoiled it with those Wurth stickers!
  11. The existing heater stays, you'll see its not difficult.
  12. Quite a simple job , we used to fit these units new in about 1.5 hours, then complete a PD whilst we evacuated and gassed it up. Just take your time, I will all fall into place.
  13. I have spent he last few hours slowly reading this, great work guys. Well done.
  14. Decaying of rubber lines is also a common cause of a hard pedal
  15. You could have used some Liquid Metal (epoxy), used correctly it would have worked a lot better.
  16. This was on some time back, bloody awesome. Its un-imaginable in comparison to todays standards.
  17. I have seen a Holden 6 conversion done to this many years ago , anything can be achieved!
  18. Pretty normal wear by looking at the pics, clean the casings up, use a quality RTV Silicone to re-assemble and Bob's your Uncle !
  19. If you are a complete novice....Some simple things to check are. Metal in the oil, or metalic residue is always expected, it depends on what degree/percentage. Lift the gear set out, check all roller bearings for noise. Look at each gears dog teeth (the little teeth on top of the gear and under the Gold colored Syncro Rings). The Dog gears should be shaped like this ^ (allow for wear of course) some rounding is to be expected. You should also inspect the sleeve (the round thing that slides over the gold things that slides over the dog gear) , it will also have teeth that should look like this ^. Wear of the Sleeve,Syncro & Dog Teeth will typically be the main reason a gearbox is hard to select gears. Bear in mind this is a very basic visual check only. Good Luck !
