i just used this to wire my fuel pump: http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?title=Circuit_Opening_Relay_Wiring
-
i don't exactly remember, but it certainly didnt cross across the front of the engine. Doesnt all the wires sit between the fuel rail and the head? A few wires go across the front of the engine, dizzy and a few random plugs over that side. but couldnt be mroe than 8 or 10.

hmmm on firefox here atm no dramas. i heard a rumour that chrome always updates itself in the background, and you can't stop it, the benifit being that all users are always on the latest version. I jumped on my fiances mums laptop yesterday, firefox 3.1 i think it had and she was wondering why it didnt run so good.......bleh.

I work in eagle farm, so chermside isnt that far away. I dunno how much use i can be though, especially since the K masters Teddy and medicine man has already looked at it yeah? A compression test will tell all on this one i think. Thats where i would start anyway.

in case of flooding, foot flat to the floor, and keep on craking. keep in mind its an old engine, from `1975. On a cold winters morning, it is going to struggle. if you need to drive for 2mins with the choke on, so be it, thats what it is there for.

here is another good thread: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/52240-4age-20v-into-ke70-confustion-parts-list/ you do realise, that to pay someone to do this, you are looking at something like $10k+ ? kaizen garage in brisbane are known to work alot with toyotas and RWD. good luck!
-
greetings, its not easy, but with the right bits becomes bolt up. i suggest a good few hours on the google machine. after you have read everything on sam Q's website. http://s-86.com/articles.html sam Q manufactures some bits he talks about there.
-
it will work its just a bit short. i have wired one in successfully on a smallport 4age, just not alot of wire to play with, and from memory we had to mount the ECU behind the glove box, not in the passenger kick panel.

yeah id have one of those porshes. depends what we are talking about here. If it is a dream daily driver where i still pay daily expensese (ie i "win" the car), id have to go something like a E46 BMW M3. proper H pattern manual gearbox with a few modern electronics. If more of a no expensese spared 2nd car type thing, ie non daily. caterham 7 R500. and becuause it is a all expensese paid, i would pay whatever TO GET A DAMN WINDSCREEN ON IT! or more of a nostalgic car taken out on special occasions, but still a cool car, id have something like a mk1 escort with a BDA....in full rally trim of course.

briliant. my WGMG... Cops sitting at the end of overtaking lanes on the cunningham highway between brisbane and warwhick. I saw at least 4 or 5 of them doing it there and back. I didnt get done, but damn i must have been close the first time.

Is there a "view my content" somewhere on the mobile site too?

The bonnets are different and not interchangeable, the rest is bolt up bar the lights which take a bit if thinking.

altezza has answered most. the strategy that has worked for me with carby cleaning, spray some in the top of carby, get it as clean as you can, leave it for 10mins, start engine, it will be a struggle. then once the engine is running, spray more in, but also put your hand over most of the carby throat so you get some EPIC vacuum in the carby, helps pull all the crap through into the engine. thats my theory anyway. Becareful not to get your hand sucked in....no I'm not joking! you will have to keep up the throttle to keep the engine going, the carby cleaner tends to kill it. and like carbonboy sais...its nasty stuff, be careful. but yeah follow that video, thats the best way. my way is cheap and dodgy, but has worked in the past. condensor is a funny thing, i had one die once, took me days to dianose, and it cost less than 8 bucks to replace. damn condensor.

50mins until a 5 day weekend.

i would start with diagnostic codes http://www.club4ag.com/faq_and_tech_pages/ECU%20Diagnostic%20Codes.htm

A master that is too big can and will degrade braking performance.

Ke70/ae71/te72/ae86 Similarities & Differences
ke70dave replied to ancullen's topic in KE70 Technical Articles
it will bolt in, but getting an oem tailshaft to work with the K engine and an S or T will prove difficult unless you go custom. -
mmm not sure. i think it woudl be best to give the whole engine a once over. clean the jets, check the needle and seat, there is an adjustment you can do on the needle float (look in that manual you have). carburettas are simple amazing contrtaptions, but one bit of dirt can stop the show. Attack the entire carby with carburetta cleaner, don't be shy, go nuts, its awesome stuff (buy it in a can from repco). give it a few good sqirts while the engine is running too (air filter out). you might have to keep the engine running while spraying that cleaner in, but it cleans good. oh yeah and it wont start easily if you just spray it in with the engine off, but it will eventually. I don't like the sound of filing points, they are only $10 to replace.

fair bit of misinformation there SLW... The CA18 calipers (which are a 250x20mm disc), are about the same size as the ae86 calipers, there is no change in brake pedal feeling. i ran around wiht CA18 calipers for a few yrs in my ke70, and the braking was brilliant. 250mmx20mm on the front of the car was great. yes you need to drill a few holes to fit the s13 stuff into ke70, but meh easily done with a decent drill and drill bits. i did the whole conversion in a few hrs once i had everything together. you need to drill the LCA from 12mm out to 14mm (i think...it was yrs ago), and drill 1 x ~10mm into the LCA. thats it. bled up the brakes nicely and never had a problem with any brake pedal issues. here is a thread where ae86 vs s13 has been discussed before, and i have a few massive posts in there on my experiences: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/49714-ae86-or-s13/

experience is gained directly after it is needed! Going on your last few threads....i think you had better buy a manual for the engine, and study it from one end to the other. Follow all diagnostic procedures, and learn a massive amount on your travels. something like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-COROLLA-1300-WORKSHOP-MANUAL-1978-1981-/190662832244?pt=AU_Clothing_Merchandise_Media&hash=item2c6463f074 $30 delivered to your house. buy it right now. If i don't see that disapear off ebay soon....well i wont actually do anything. but... BUY IT!

sounds like a good project. but how is it a little different to the norm? arent all ~35yr old corollas full of rust? :P

ke70dave replied to nerfbat's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)

And most are into corollas as a cheap fun car, and DIY everything, which makes for an healthy active forum. I'm yet to find a forum with simliar enjoyable environment, thats why i still hang around here! -
