in my ~7yrs of retail work i discovered one important fact, The customer is always WRONG!

hmmm 2 teeth eh. you do a compression test before you pulled it appart? being 2 teeth out surely compression would have been very low?

hey mate, nice photos. re: starter motor. there is a auto electrician in wynnum that can rebuild your starter motor for a very reasonable price, brand new everything. i got an alternator done there last week and it was $165, i think a starter is a tad cheaper (no electronics on a starter) i got my 4k and 4age starter done there as well, but i can't recall the price, was yrs ago! something to think about as opposed to finding a 2nd hand one.

geez that is cool http://www.rallysportmag.com.au/home/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=6533&Itemid=2 a nice photo from here i generally hate the look of ra40's, but anything in rally spec and toyota livery is damn cool in my books.

note:The majority of australian drivers are complete and utter selfish ignorant idiots who are not at all interested (or have the understanding) on how to keep traffic flowing by allowing others to merge in, by slowing down slightly or monouvering their cars to create gaps in traffic. I've had that happen to me many times, they carry on like a moron, hit the gas, over take, and procede to do the exact same thing at the next merge. i thought the letter of the law stated that whoever was infront had right of way, in reality it is everyones responsibility to be aware of their surroundings and make merging smooth....i can't see that happening any time soon though.

how many people can you fit in one van? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Z0oTnHKE7g

hey mate, best bet to go to repco and grab one, might even be cheaper than that. then you can take it back if it isnt right. that ebay add does look right though. but yeah i don't recall them being 30bucks from repco. maybe $18 or $19. here is a photo of where it is: the best photo i could find on google images. but the head is running to the right. that thing that is corroded is held on by 2 bolts (you can see one, one is just out o fhte photo) the thermostat is located under this. make sure you get a new gasket too, and give both gasketing surfaces a VERY good clean. i have found it best to get to both surfaces with a flat file, so you can make the surfaces nice and flat. and clean off all the scale while your at it.

wowzer, i didnt know it was that close. great... both sides are split down the centre...4 teams should make for a healthy country running.

hmmmm 71-31 to gillard. ~40% of the ministers not in favour of gillard is still a bit concerning.
-
you could carefully braize/solder it back together. your resistance might be slightly out now, but i reckon it would be close. also companies like VDO sell gineric fuel senders, pending the resistance range you might need to use an aftermarket guage though.

Putting A Turbo System On A 4Age 16V Small Port
ke70dave replied to chrisfindlay's topic in General Mechanical
when the intercooler is described as the following: "Hight performance turbo racing designe" (yes that is how its spelt) i start to worry:P turbo smallport, good idea, but make sure you tune is on the conservative side, ~10:1 compression isn't nice to poorly tuned turbo engines. it will explode....fast. but 10:1 compression with a turbo would sure be fun. a quick run down on what you will need: -aftermarket computer -sort out your ignition for this (individual coil packs, or somehow get stock system to work) -larger injectors (plenty of OEM options) -oil feed, oil return for your turbo -water feed, water return for your turbo -intercooler piping and enough bits and bobs to enable all this to bolt to your engine. you do not need a turbo timer, waste of money. -
WGMG: people who blame their phone for their spelling mistakes. :P sounds like that bloke needs to get a new hobby.

just put in a proper muffler! conversion looks good, 4age is certainly an improvement over the 4k thats for sure.

when you guys say toyota starlet, you talking about one of these? http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/toyota-starlet-1998-11862538?cr=5&distance=25&vertical=Car&eapi=2&page=1&sort=Price&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294962861%204294962784%20900&silo=Stock&Range=Price:Min,Max~1 i wonder how that car compares to say this: http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/mazda-323-1999-12140573?vertical=Car&cr=9&eapi=2&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294965340%204294964064%20900&distance=25&silo=Stock&Range=Price:Min,5000~1&sort=default i know the 1.6L mazda engine is a bit of a slug.....i bet the 4efe is a bit more fun to drive, but you do get mroe car for your dollars on the mazda. ----- Another Contender.. Mitsubishi lancer 1.8L VRX. the 1.8's go alright. 4 door too. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/mitsubishi-lancer-2000-12076247?cr=0&vertical=Car&Range=Price:Min,5000~1|Mileage:Min,Max|Year:Min,Max|Seats:Min,Max|Power:Min,Max|TowingBrakes:Min,Max|EngineSize:Min,Max&silo=Stock&sort=default&eapi=2&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294964597%204294966896&distance=25&find=vrx|CarAll

ive got nothin, very difficult to diagnose with text. got RACQ? or equivelent to your state? park it on the street and call them if you do.

i really dislike old classic cars, that get a nice modern turbo engine in them, and then slap on a HUUUUGGEEE intercooler. someone stepped back from this and thought to themselves..."yeah that looks good!"

Coilovers Or New Struts And Lowered Springs?
ke70dave replied to 89sedan's topic in AExx Corolla Discussion
drift in an ae92 FWD? how much cash you want to spend? spend up big on shocks, ignore "coilovers" most are garbage. -
yeah i know that trick, ive had it fail a few times though. just spun even with the weight of the car.

hmmmm thanks for the replies folks. i also considered the pulsar of the same vintage, which would probably fine, i just don't like the look:P http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/nissan-pulsar-2002-12026340?vertical=Car&cr=6&eapi=2&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294963846%204294963786%20900&distance=25&silo=Stock&Range=Price:5000,7500~1&sort=default N16 1.8L, not a bad looking interiour, bit of a bubble on the outside though! corolla of the same vintage might be alright, i find the build quality on the toyota interiours isnt up to scratch compared to the mazdas though. 2008 corolla interiour is so plastic and horrible. whole thing creeks and clunks with normal driving! New 86, hmmmmm $40k is close to $6k. 4wd would be cool, but probably a bit too big really... i considered a little 4wd, suzuki jimni, 2 door pajero....

Morning folks. a bit of a interesting topic here. girlfriend currently has a toyota lexcen (VR commondore wannabe) and although it will go forever (after i replace the alternator that died yesty...), its a bit of a heap of junk. so we think its time for an upgrade. so i thought i would open it to suggestions from rollaclub! requirements are as follows: -around $6000 -4 doors -4clr -fuel economical (80mins of driving each day to her work) -easy to fix, and available parts. -smallish, but enough space for 4 people on occasion. -all the mod cons (powersteering, aircon, airbags) -a little quicker than most in its class, i don't want a 1.5L econobox. -a little sporty, but not over the top. -fun for me to drive so i can leave the WRX at home on boring trips. i am thinking something along the lines of a mazda 323 SP20. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/mazda-323-2002-11992106?cr=1&vertical=Car&Range=Price:Min,Max~1&silo=Stock&sort=default&eapi=2&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294965340%204294964064%20900&distance=25&find=sp20|CarAll 2L BP engine has a fair amount of grunt, nice cars too, plenty of mod cons. ok go!

the hardest part in this job is removing the nut on top that holds the top hat to the shock shaft. ive had success with clamping the shock tube and using a socket....but only limited success. best bet is a rattle gun and an aircompressor.

hmmmmm i don't think so. :hmm:
