driving to work today, i spot a bunch of flashing yellow lights up ahead on wynnum road...great....car accident. everyone merges into one lane, crawling along...i get to the crash, a later model camry (maybe 2000) crash rear ended something, looks like the other vehicle had moved on. so there is one damaged vehicle left, the camry, no less than THREE tow trucks all in a row, hoping to get the job, with the camry in the middle, blocking 1/2 lanes, one tow truck guy and the camry driver standing next to the camry SIGNING PAPERS on the bonnet of the camry. now the camry was a bit beat up, but i reckon it would drive (no major leaking fluids from what i could see), or at least you could push it OFF THE ROAD into a side street perhaps...to clear traffic. yet they were all just standing around looking at it. whilst the traffic crawled along. is it unreasonable to expect that the highest priority for everyone involved would be to clear the road, given it is a main road at peak hour? evidently not!!! and this isnt the first time i have noticed this either....they seem to like taking their time.

that yellow ute looks odd. i found this quite amusing, for some unknown reason...
-
depends on tyre mostly. 15x7 +13 with a 195/50 fit pretty good on rear of my ke70, needed to roll the guards a bit though.

whast the advantage anyway? besides more room for side draft carbs? people seem to put side draft carbs on slanted 4k's successfully. (a tad pressed for room pending size and filter choice...)

its one thing talkin about this, its another doing it! these bike contraption sound like a crazy awesome fun way of getting a fine or potentially losing your life. not that the bikes would be that dangerous on their own, its trying to ride them along side cars/motorbikes/trucks/buses that i would be worried about!

My brother came to me asking if i had any spare oil for his hilux, as he didn't have enough to fill up his car after an oil change, he kept saying the oil guage sais its not full yet. he was looking at the oil pressure gauge. So after and draining a substantial amount OUT of his sump, he had completed the oil change.

sounds like its running pig rich because some sensor is faulty or missing. have you done a diagnostic test yet? that will tell you everything. you will need to hook up a check engine light. -
if its coming through the bolt hole...then that suggests a crack between the bolt hole and the water gallery in the head. potentially new head time....or at least welding up and repairing that crack. or since it has been working well for a while, put the bolt back in with some plumbers tape, and see how long it lasts

The thing about shock valving, is its based on maths, not necessarily your experience or track time. so sort of those 'get it set once, and forget about it' type issues. admittedly its being a bit pedantic for a street car, they will probably be pretty good out of the box....but i dunno i guess if your spending $600 on shocks, best to get them set properly? also if you buy the shocks through a decent suspension shop, they might do you a good deal on valving them before they they give them to you. maybe give these guys a ring? http://www.extrememotorsports.com.au/extreme-race-suspension/shock-absorber-services-4.html there are a few rally guys on here, maybe they will have some 1st hand experience on costs.

yah i found there was 2 different types of water pump. one to suit a solid fan, and one to suit the fluid coupling fan. there was also 2 different fan pulleys, as the two different pumps had different offsets? which made the belt not line up? also i suggest against adapter plate, unless your quite good on a lathe. As if you get it slightly off centre it will destroy your new water pump's bearings pretty quick. better off just getting the right pump.

if it was an ae71 passenger side mirror, they are quite rare.... ive been quoted $80 before.

the most expensive part about any efi engine modification is the ECU. good exhaust and good intake, and probably bit of extra compression (headgasket or shaving the head a bit) you can get away with the factory computer. but start talking about uprated camshafts and porting the head, and you really do need a good aftermarket ecu to run it. people will say "ooh i had X camshafts running on stock ecu and it was fine", maybe it did run fine, but if you are only getting 65% of the benifit you could have if you tuned it properly, whats the point? i had this predicament with the 4age in my ke70. after doing exhaust and intake, if i bought camshafts - camshafts - ~700 cam gears - ~250 instalation (i didnt want play with shims on expensive cam shafts) - ~300 (large guess, but probably about right) might as well get a bit of porting, i was going to have a go at this myself, but if you paid someone, potentially $300-500 Then an aftermarket ecu, sprint 500 haltech looked good - ~1200 (installation DIY, but if you paid someone, potentially another $500) getting somneone else to tune it, potentially $500 put a thin headgasket while i was at it and get the head checked, might as well get a 3 angle valve grind jobby (whatever its called) ~500+ add all that up, and not much change from about 3000... now one could argue that the ECU doesnt really count, as that is a supporting mod for any future mods, but still, its a shite load of cash to outlay. you may pick up bargains, but i like brand new parts. for $3000, a 4agte is on the cards....and you will get alot more power out of one of those. but somewill say, that 3k is worth it, to get a screaming N/A engine. which is fine, but i personally couldnt justify that kind of cash!!

i will probably head along to this. missed out on the winternats this year, never been to a jamboree before, looks good from the website though.

whatever springs you chose, i suggest you take the shocks to a suspension place and get them valved for your car and spring rate. bilsteins are completely rebuildable. i would start with 5kg if i did it again, i had 6kg, and it was verging on being too stiff, though i can't really compare as i didnt have bilstein shocks, bilstiens are renound for being the most comfortable shock, no harsh impacts. i would love to try a set one day!

110mm isnt a standard boss kit. thats an extra long one. a standard boss kit puts the wheel in the same place as it was before, in relation to the indicator stalk. sounds like this is what you have: http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u166/ke70dave/pooke705.jpg super extra long, thats what i used to have, it was awesome! but if you think its too long, you just need a normal short one.
-
yeah could be. can't be much in it though.
-
it all depends on wheel width as well. i had 14x8 zero with 186/60 on back of my ke70, was reasonably low (just above legal), still scrubbed with (what i consider) a fairly good go at rolling the guards. (limited damage to paint) going the other way, there is plenty of room on the back, on the front though, 15x6.5+23 hit the struts on my ke70, was fine on ae86 struts though.

they should fit nicely.

i think on tiger, instead of a seat, they give you an excercise bike which is connected to the propellers. haha wynnum manly leagues club.....nah I'm a little more sophisticated than that, manly west tavern:P
-
very excellent information 86coupe. to the OP, id throw those 8kg in the bin, get some 4-5. you may find its much better even without the bilsteins.
-
haha yeah teeth are all fixed, eating like normal now. yep had many steaks. they aren't a fan of cold things, but its getting better each day. went to Adelaide on the weekend, nice place! thus my gripe at virgin blue:P
-
Virgin blue airline don't serve pre mix bunndy and coke for $8 anymore....you have to buy the 50ml of rum for $7 and a can of Pepsi for $3........can't even buy coke....and it costs $10.....lame!!!!!!

fuel spark air and getting it to work all together well. is what you need to make an engine run. by the sound of it you have ruled out spark. fuel, if it runs, thats a good sign. air, make sure air filter is clean. now the complicated one, making it all run together. ignition timing, and camshaft timing. sort out all those, and it will run (assuming you arent missing any sensors)
