I'm doing another mod today. Ive been thinking for a while how to get air to the quads without modifying the radiator support by cutting holes and ducting. Ive also been wanting to make my radiator less efficient to keep a bit more heat in the motor, especially on the highway. I think Ive come up with a good idea. Ive made some radiator relocation brackets, I'm not moving it far, just about 3 inches to the exhaust side. This will help in a number of ways. 1. Some of the core will be partly obscured and therefore drop radiator efficiency a bit. 2. Will reveal a large slot that I can duct towards the inlets. 3. Will keep more of the heat from the radiators air to the exhaust side where its already hot. Will report back with how I go.

Yes well done, you used the correct procedure for testing a thermostat, unfortunately you did it after previously installing it. They are known to be often faulty even from new so I reccomend testing them before they go in each time, even if it is new.

Heat = Expansion of metal components. So one would think yes. Perhaps the author should fix this, please link to the info and we will have a look.

Yeah I can tune yours the same way, if you let me daily the car for several months and tune it when and where I feel like it with no O2 sensor on a strictly experimental basis. Thats what I did, its not the smartest idea, but along the way I had a power run done on the dyno and discovered a happy sounding motor to me was a half a point lean, since discovering this I am doing much better, Ive even got good afrs through the warmup before the closed loop kicks in.

don't mean to brag but my arse dyno tuning has been pretty amazing. I was a little out at low throttle high rpm, and high throttle low rpm, but the whole driveable areas of the map are near perfect afrs. Ive only tuned about 6 points in the map with it and am struggling to find more to tune at this time, looking at just leaving it on open loop and watching how it behaves for a while.

Most reports seem to indicate that the car became airborne after it hit the gaurd rail and then the ground behind the rail dropped away as well, they sort of got shredded in the trees. The place where the majority of the car and its occupants was found was a fair way after the initial crash site, and not too far from the road he was initially travelling on, just a few feet into the woods, but a fair way after the rail he hit. Cause of death could not be determined between the fire or blunt force trauma in the early reports. Perhaps later studies or results will show more. Of course there's a long line of money grubbing people gathering there picking up shrapnell from the site and selling it on ebay.

For the record, the speed he hit the barrier at was as fast as my AE71 is geared to go in 5th gear. Ive never driven that fast, he was probably doing Close to 260klm/hr before he locked the brakes. i did see one angle that showed the skid marks crossing a bad bit of bitumen, a bit of a poorly filled pothole, something like that could upset a car thats trying to turn in with a lot of sideways G forces. Just bad judgement I guess. I found a clip on youtube where Bam is talking about how Ryan Dunn drives. It was made in April this year, and Bam says Ryan has wrecked 9 cars in major accidents, 6 belonging to other people and 3 of his own. Bam even predicts that if Ryan was to die young, in a car would be 'his thing'. Ryan was known to drive like an asshole, but Bam specifically mentions that Ryan is a terrible driver aswell. I guess you can only cheat death for so long, it was a reckless move, one of many in the life of a person who made reckless moves a career. I guess this is retirement. So long random hero.

Its just a good quality denso one. I have a pretty unique cooling system, so its probably more to do with that, particularly where my temp probe is, as its not at the thermostat. Just got the innovate LC 1 in the mail. Its pretty easy to configure, connect three wires, hit ignition for 20 seconds to calibrate it automatically, then plug it in more or less. Will have to get the bung welded in asap. My fuel map is almost all guesswork right now, so I want to see how I went tuning it by feel first and just keep logging and refining as time goes by. Car goes great, but I just want to learn the exercise.

Bit harsh mate, he died foolishly but I must say he had a lot going for him. World recognition, money, good friends. An interesting and fun life really. He died in a car that's worth more than most of us earn in 10 years. Unfortunately we may always remember him for his worst day. We all are capable of epic mistakes. I think if he got the braking earlier and got to the uphill bit of the corner he could have potentially saved it. Perhaps it was a bit dewy, nature is hard to comprehend at 130MPH and water is rather slippery, even in the top Porsche. Its such a sad day in too many ways to too many people.

At 100MPH+? Asleep? With another young male passenger in the car? Unlikely. Its a f@$ked up situation no matter how it went down exactly, the corner was probably good for 120-130klm/hr. Its a 90 degree uphill right hander about an even 35m radius. It was his usual way home from the bar to his home. He never even got turned in properly, he didn't get anywhere near an apex, the rail he went through was still on the straight bit of road he was turning from, he just left four black marks leading straight into the forest. The speed he came into the corner with was massive, he needed to attain 90 degrees of turning he probably got 5 degrees done. Factor number one was excessive speed to talent ratio. Secondary causes I guess we have to speculate about until the lab results are in. I am not expecting any surprises. Who is Ebert? It looks pretty obvious that he was drunk at the time, alcohol takes a while to leave your system, and being pictured on his own twitter drinking just hours before doesn't help his case. I'm happy to be proven wrong, but to me its not a long bow to draw.

That looks great on that colour. Good job. Welcome to the kamei family. Wait till you drive it in a strong cross wind, or pass trucks head on on the highway, the car is a lot more stable.

2azfte? It'd be the lightest way to get 2.4 litres boosted in a ke70. I think its good for up to 400hp fairly reliably. In hp per litre its not super amazing, but in hp/kg of motor its astounding. I'm having a bh made anyhow, could always have 2 made. Its no longer or heavier than a 4age, 75mm taller overall and with a small front sump. Needs lots of custom work (sump, inlet and exhaust manifolds) but the cooling and electrical systems would rwd fine. Only has vvti on the inlet cam, so not too difficult to tune, has good aftermarket support and cheap performance parts, good rods around $500 US dollars, its a bit cheaper than a 4age to buy internals for. BC Stroker kits available to go to 2.7 litres if you want heaps of grunt. Its a big task but I'm doing it just to see if its as nice as I hope. I figure it wont upset the car as I'm used to driving it, but will make the same power as a stock 4agze at a bare minimum, with no boost required. With boost it would be a monster. You can buy built race motors from the US for around $4500US. Dubrolle has a version of this motor doesnt he? Looks pretty cool.

Doesnt Dubrolles ke70 have a 5 cylinder Volvo turbo engine setup?

Very clean, complete with mid life crisis coloured interior. I love it. Needs 15x8.5 charcoal watanabes to finish the chairoscurro look of the car off. Also some dark tint.
