  1. Nah, its my daily, i need to keep it drivable at all times or find a gap to do it. Its just a tidy up of some loose ends. Things ive done but now changed mind etc. i even got started on a few things this morning after fitting my new fuel pump to replace the 35 year old one that was in it. so don't stress. she is keeping her daily driving duties. Cheers
  2. well I'm hoping that i can save up enough for rego due end of july so that i can use my tax money for the 5k and installation. And if theres enough left over... the 4age might get some work done to it for the race car. thanks for the kind words, stay tuned as I'm planning a bit of a revamp on the old girl
  3. Also be careful buying from hong cong. It may all be in another language. Hate to buy it and have all the words on the buttons unreadable, let alone the programming
  4. id put a 5k in it then. I'm going to be going 5k when i can get the spare cash to buy it off the guy. But it would just be put in if any part of the motor was defected. But yeah I'm getting alot of mixed response whether or not to fight the fine though. and ill hopefully be going flares. they Look the toughest with them on, even without fender mirrors.
  5. Not happy! Got pulled up for an rbt, yeah no worries, i knew it was there as i drove past it once then was coming back to town, So i got pulled in with a group of other cars so they can test them all. I get my license out ready, but to avail, he didnt rbt me. Instead he asked to look under my bonnet. Its a KE25 stock as a rock, Not much to see here. So i pop it, he has a quick look, then puts it down and tells me to move down past the rbt station when the cars in front move away. So i do as instucted, he came down with his book in hand, and gets me to pop the bonnet so he can have a look again. So i lift the bonnet and he says now look at all that oil, it must have a blown gasket or something. I replyed, Nah officer, The o-ring on the dizzy was gone, so we replaced it but the generic brands don't seal and i have to get a genuine one from toyota which i havent had time to do. He replyed "well look at the oil it must be leaving trails everywhere" i looked back where i drove through their rbt station...guess what..no trail. I said to that no officer, its only leaking a little bit of oil onto the motor, a little bit of oil goes a long way. but by this stage he had already started writing up the fine. So there was no way that he was going to stop anyway. I told him i bought it off a granny and I'm trying to fix it all up. Still writing. So i asked him "is this a defect?" he said No, its just a fine, no points yada yada yada. I asked how much for..$132. f@$k!!!!! (excuse my language) i replyed (soft enough to not get in trouble but loud enough for him to hear) And he also said i need new number plates, and he looked at my not retracting seatbelts to see if they needed replacing too due to fraying. Asshole. I have P-Plates so I'm instantly a target, i don't even have an exhaust system on it, so its not loud or anything, my music was down, etc etc. they just saw a nice looking old car to see whats up with it. Waste of my time and money, And to fight it wastes more time and money. Sorry for the rant.
  6. dislikes the $132 fine for having oil on the block, wasnt dripping on the ground. (sorry if there are coppers on this site) I am F&%^$ng Annoyed with coppers victimising. I was pulled in for an rbt with other cars, i didnt even get tested. all that happened was i got asked to open the bonnet and get my license out /Rant Jake
  7. Pros - I'm the second owner and the car is in quite good condition (there are always little imperfections so not too worried) - The car is fun to drive and fuel efficient Cons - I'm going to have to spend a few $$$ on replacing the old (more than likely original) parts. - As earlier stated, Little power - Only a 4 speed not good for highway cruising Overall, love my car Cheers Jake
  8. If i can get the day off work/everything else and have one of my mates willing to come along for a run, i might come out, Will have to check and see and get back to you. Would be a good run i think. Cheers Jake
  9. When my parents were channel surfing, he was having a sook In the diary room. HARDEN THE F*#$ UP!!!
  10. Changing number 4 spark plug may prove difficult. or is it actually still easily reachable? Your putting quite a lot of quality work into this car. Keep it up
  11. Guitar Hero count???? Even if it does, i only played it once. in my younger days (<10) i played many instuments, trumpet, clarinet, etc. But now. i don't play anything
  12. why not do a bathurst cruise for the v8's? they are in October so timing is about right. and you would have plenty of time to organise. would be a good trip from sa to bathurst.
  13. Ah well put some driving lights on it. I don't have low beams in my ke25. Well i do but i have to hold the lever back for them to stay off. Tis a quite odd problem. Should fix it one day.
  14. Hmm don't know. it sounds a little like the leak mine has. But mine is from the dizzy hole (needs a new o-ring which we don't seem to have in the right size) and it leaves a puddle about the same size after you stop until the oil gets back to the sump. but yours seems to be going through alot more oil. Does the head have oil on it aswell? or just the block?
  15. look on the motor see if you can see any oil seeping out. if its all covered, clean it then look after you go for a drive. see if you can locate it then. you say small pool of oil. how big is it? like a dinner plate? smaller bigger? more info may be required
  16. Needs a different colour. white car, white rims...doesnt suit IMO. Like your stash of rolla's too. ETA of next one?
  17. the rolla...its RED oh and the rolla coz its registered. (i guess the hummer would be too but for the purpose of my reason.....)
  18. Love it Great way to spend 8 mins of what once was boredom.
  19. hmm...i definately feel up for a cruise. Depends on where we go as its a bit of a journey to syd then where ever it ends up and back to bathurst again. Will definately keep an eye out for the next cruise destination.
  20. The points + the condensor cost me about $16 total from super dodgy, but that was with staff discount. So it would be around the $20 mark RRP.
  21. Both, and the lead going from the distributor to the coil.
  22. I replaced my points and condensor in my ke25 and it cost like $20. If your going to replace the points you should do the condensor while your at it.
  23. I did my engine bay the other day, Just a can or two of export degreaser and then i hit it with the pressure washer. After that hit all the lead connections with some wd-40 so she would start again. not the shinyest but its clean.
  24. Please tell me this car will be sporting a rollaclub sticker. This car is Looking the sex now that it is sooo close to completion.
  25. Ah ok i understand now. Thanks for the clear up.
