Years ago when i used to spectate, the police rarely booked the people racing (basically because they saw the lights and were in a prime position to bail). They always blocked of the exits and defected most cars that left. I was one of the few cluey ones that parked a few hundred metres away in a back street.
Its only the silly posers that park their cars close and show off their pride and joy there that get booked.
Admittably no one should be there in the first place, but it was years ago when it wasnt so out of control. These days Calder Park has Friday night meetings to combat it.
The one time i parked close, the cops came over and made a note of my license number and warned me not to come back. It worked for a few weeks till the whole hoon scene calmed down and changed locatons.
VIC has strict hoon laws already. Fines, court appearances, confiscation of your car etc
I'm surprised other states hadn't caught on until now.
