  1. Flies. Is it just Melbourne that has been hit with plagues of flies? I spend most of my day swatting and swearing at bloody persistant flies that feel the need to land on my face when there is a whole planet at their disposal.
  2. The Black Spur One of the best stretches of road this side of town. Also a prick of a place to be when a Motorcyclist comes unstuck and the road gets shutdown.
  3. Drivers that can't pull up to an immediate stop at red lights. They seem to just crawl up to the car infront of them at 2km/h. FFS....just pull up to the car in front and sit there.
  4. Just to add to my previous post....I have since changed back to the Wade 240 grind and personally i think its the best suited cam i have had so far. The 140-6 was waaay to big, and i had to rev the guts out of it, to make it move. Just something to think about when you get the 5K up and running.
  5. My KE30/55 triple core set me back about $220. I was also quoted over $300 for the same job from a well known radiator place in Sth Melbourne. So it pays to shop around and if possible don't shop around in posh suburbs. I run a 10" Davies Craig Thermo fan as a backup for the std fan on my worked 5K. The Thermo rarely kicks in. A new Thermostat and coolant system flush can never hurt either.
  6. The trans tunnel/firewall looks all munted. Has it been hammered to make the gearbox fit?
  7. Any news from an engineer on this project? I talked to one a few months back about putting a N/A 13B into my KE30. I was knocked back due to new Vic Roads laws that are more restrictive on powerful engine upgrades. But, i got the approval on a 12A (which will be happening early next year).
  8. I've heard good things about Air Road Direct. Especially for larger items and wheels. Air Road Direct
  9. PM this bloke - Rolla___Boy
  10. It seems all the accomodation in Shep is booked out and have hundreds of people in waiting lists incase of a no-show. Just a heads up for those thinking they will grab some accomodation when they get there.
  11. I got back from 3 days work in Ballarat yesterday. It was 12 months to the day that i was there last, fitting out another shop. Damn....Ballarat Cup day brings out all the crazies. I'll be back there Monday arvo and Tuesday. Joel, tell your mates to stop doing laps and pumping doof doof around the roundabout near the Black Rhino. I like my sleep. :D
  12. Vic has fixed speed cameras on most of the major Freeways/Highways. I think the most effective type are the ones on the Hume Freeway. Theres a series of them that time how long it takes you to travel between each camera. Thus estimating your average speed and detecting whether you have been speeding. Its not fool proof as someone can speed up to 180kmh for a quick squirt, and then drop back to 70 or 80km/h to get the average speed down. But in general you don't see too many people far over the limit along that stretch. The cameras on Citylink are on every overhead boom where they detect your plates for tolling. Also throughout both of the tunnels.....so you'd have to be a bit of a wally to get done speeding along there.
  13. I have one in my KE30. I have never done a single wheel burnout since i've had it. No its not a true LSD, but it does its best to replicate one. Its much more enjoyable than a Locker, and just a fraction of the price of a true LSD which would require a complete housing change $$. So its a happy median for someone on a budget. Its already sold though (once it gets pulled out), when my R31 diff goes in.
  14. I was ready to tear shreds off you then. Then i scrolled down........so its all good. :)
  15. People making last minute bids in ebay auctions. I was set to pick up a cheap R31 LSD diff until some tool out bid me in the last 2sec. :)
  16. However for your car, you may want to read the FAQ or even do a little searching. FAQ
  17. Its all on the first page. I assume he's stll using the same mounts anyway.
  18. Looks similar to the ones on my rx7. I have different types actually (spare door was different). They just screw into the door anyway.
  19. Just to give you an idea of what the workshop quoted me for them to do all the work...... Fit engine and gearbox (make custom mounts etc) A few hundred dollars....$300-400 Custom Tailshaft $300-400 Custom Extractors / Modify the existing ones $not discussed Theres a heap of other things i will get them to do whilst they have the car. I have neither the welding skills, hours in the day nor mechanical patience for this kind of fabrication work. Hence i would rather shell out a few grand for the peace of mind that its done correctly. (not saying you wont do it properly - its purely aimed at me) Other works include: Triangulated Strut brace to the firewall Possible plating of the chassis Hilux/R31 Diff Upgrade Brake upgrade to be done by me (currently underway) Obviously the more work that i give them, the cheaper the whole project will be. Rather than them slugging me full price for 1 or 2 mods, they have done me a good deal on the whole scope of works. The final engineers certificate was quoted at around $600-$700 on completion. GV Automotive The workshop that will be doing the work.^
  20. ORSM Break.COM Liveleak That should kill a few hours.
  21. I should add that we mainly machine Timber (MDF/Particle Board), Acrylic and the occassional sheet of Aluminuim checker plate. So forget any ideas of solid lumps of steel if thats what your thinking Teddy. Any new business is always welcome though. Helps to pay off the $300,000 machine 8|
  22. Damn, I'd hate to be the bloke that wrote that program. I run a 3 axis CNC at work, and i know how detailed some programs can get......but a 5-axis, thats just a whole new level of brain power.
  23. That seems the more obvious reason now that you mention it.
  24. Why don't you just take the calipers to a brake shop and get them to recondition them? I just had a pair of 4 pot calipers reconditioned for $130.
