  1. can you wash mine too??? it'll take you about 3 times as long cos of the size of my whale :D
  2. narrow roads mean nothing.......to those in rolla's anyway. for those of us in crown's it's a different story, esp with no P/S :bash:
  3. Oi SuperTed......i'll swap you for your slowly wilting AE70!! :blinks: dF
  4. shoulda left them dark Boo.... dark wheels + chrome trim rings/lip + light colored car = always hot!
  5. as i posted earlier, the one i had fitted sweetly in the Red Rocket. you're welcome to come round and try it out one night/weekend if you wanted..... co-incidentally, i need to sell it. :)
  6. MA61's.....no rear bar......ended up at mine around 8pm last night, then left 15mins later.
  7. just a couple of pm requests to hold bits..... did manage to pull everything out of the shed, clean it, throw out a trailer load of stuff not worth trying to sell, took photo's of the stuff that *might* sell on the 'Bay, reload the shed in an orderly fashion for ease of locating car bits, and have lotsa room for additional goods removed from the house to make it look less cluttered for property listing photos next week. so, if people have nothing better on next weekend, the shed will still be open. i will be listing stuff on ebay as well, when i get time off from the house and looking after the partner who is an invalid again....
  8. that'd be nice Adam. thanks.
  9. i know this is stuff all notice, but it's worth a shot anyway. my partner and I are looking to move out of our current residence into something smaller, and without a shed. as the shed is about 80% full of corolla bits (ke2x/3x/5x and some 7x) and this is a corolla forum, i thought there'd be people who need or desire some of the stuff that's currently in it. what i'm getting at is i'm going to open up the door and carport for any and all who wish to come round to my place this weekend (preferably) or next weekend and help relieve me of car parts and the partner of the stress of possibly moving all the car parts. stuff will be well priced (read: not giving it away, but still cheap and will do deals on bundles and multiple bits) anything that doesn't sell will either go up on ebay or go out in a skip (in around 3-4 weeks) quick list of stuff i remember seeing/putting in the shed over the last two years. pair of 40mm dellorto's on k manifold with linkages. ke55 interior aircon piping and heater box early KE10 4spd box w40 with unknown bellhousing ke20 sill guards ke26 tailgate ke26 doors (set of 4) ke26 rear fixed windows ke55 dash pad (excellent cond) ke35 taillights a couple of aftermarket steering wheels and boss kits stock AE86 wheels (the smooth dome type ones) 2 sets of ke30/55 steelies (i think i've got one early and one late set) center caps to suit above wheels two honeycomb ke55 grills, one with and one without badge (currently on ebay) ke2x dash pad (2nd last one from Toyota in Sydney purchased a year or so back) ke70 front struts ke70 discs and several pairs of calipers (both sumitomo and girlock) ke35 front swaybar ke35/55 coupe boot alternators/coils/carbies from 3k and 4k 3k cam (unknown history, has 3KB written in blue pen on masking tape, came from an older gent up the road who used to race a ke25) 5k engine (suspected BHG) Koni ke20 front inserts so, if you have nothing better to do and feel like coming out to have a browse, and possibly a feed (a BBQ might be fired up for lunch) PM me or contact me on O4O2 O22 574 for an address. cheers dF
  10. if you hoard classics like this then i see no problem..... reminds me of the clapped out volvo 140 series i saw cruising around when i was in sweden. old, bit worse for wear, yet still turning heads! (well, this will when you get some classic JDM wheels)
  11. silly nobby..... AW11 MR2 rear inserts are for when you do a coilover conversion, cos they're short you can make it low and still have some travel both up and down. i got some secondhand Koni front shocks from JDM-land that were removed from a KE20. couldn't tell you a P/N unfortunately. rears i just put in some i removed from a KE35 coupe. stiffened it up a bit at least. as for seeing what will fit. i spent about a week going thru different catalogues for my MS65 crown. ended up with new bilstein fronts from an old ovlov, and rears i got some NOS from ebay. step 1. identify stock inserts: top and bottom mounts, compressed and extended lengths. step 2. find and record other model cars with inserts that have same top and bottom mounts. step 3. go thru new list and check comp/ext lengths to see what is too long/the same/too short (no such thing as too short!!!) step 4. with those different models that are suitable to be used size-wise, what is the difference in car weights.....too heavy/too light (ie. if the new shock comes from a car that is 300kgs heavier, it will most likely be stiffer) step 5. call/email dealer/distributer of bilstein/koni/monroe/etc to see availability of possible replacements. best of luck
  12. mate, i did a similar thing back in June, sliced across the top of my thumb at the lowest joint (near the nail) severing the tendon 100% and chipping the middle bone a little bit. i went to our local hospital, got it looked at and cleaned up there and then. went to the big city hospital two hrs later and sat in emergency for 6 hrs.....there was people there already that had been waiting 8+ hrs. got in eventually, they looked at it, read what the local docs wrote about it, said come back tomorrow morning for day surgery. went back the next morning, surgery was 2+ hrs late (12:30ish instead of 10am) got put under (didn't want to feel them playing with my tendons) and was back home by 7pm the same day. because the thumb tendon runs from tip to elbow, they put you in a full cast to stop you rotating your wrist, which stretches the tendon. i had 1 week in a half cast (halfway around my arm but from thumb to elbow) than another 4 weeks in a full cast (again from tip of thumb to elbow) after that it was a month of slow but intense movement and stretching exercises, i got 75% movement and about 50% strength back after a month, then another two months of the same physio. i've got about 90% movement back and 100% strength, there's been nothing i haven't been able to do since the surgery. for any hand tendon damage, there's no such thing as a short rehab. you were always gonna be out for 2 months minimum (one in cast, one for the initial physio) personally, i'd talk to the initial doc again, then see some lawyers.....he should've done movement checks to see what you could/couldn't do. sorry for longwinded post, just figured hearing about first-hand experience (no pun intended) would help you out. cheers dF
  13. sounds like Andy and his AE70 wagon....
  14. or, you know, there's two PC's at my place.....and a shed full of stuff you can look through too!
  15. yes there is, and yes it's shocking................ly AWESOME!!!
  16. I should keep this moving, even if it's only moving as slow as the whale does. So there's a few things that have happened in the last few months.... *EDIT: listed in order of importance it would appear.* Got some rear shocks installed, so now it's not totally floaty. Picked up a pair of Hayashi Bombers, from Otomoto, (14 x 7" +7) which I'm (still in the process of) cleaning up. (some pics of test fit w/out tires to be put here) Ordered/bought some Takeshi Project Hart wheels (15 x 6.5" +5 and 7" +2 according to the yjp Engrish) which should be arriving before x-mas. (you can google them yourself to see what they possibly look like) I was originally going to find another pair of wheels to go with the bombers, not worried if i have mis-matched pairs on it, but finding these i just couldn't say no. Now the only question is how much will they sit outside the guards. If I can somehow tuck them in all-around as a set they'll stay in my possession and be put on for special occasions, otherwise they'll be put up for sale and I'll grab a pair of something else. But i suppose the biggest thing was getting it completely cleaned inside and out in preparation for my wedding. (Sure the wedding was important, but this thread isn't about weddings, it's about the big red whale!) Oscar from OsCar Detailing drove all the way from Ringwood after lunch on a Friday, once he'd finished his morning appointment somewhere out east. took him 2 hrs or so in his Hi-ace....He worked on it til 8ish that night, slept on an inflatable mattress in our living room which my two cats joined him on, and started work again at 8am on Saturday to have it finished before my partner took it at 11am. It's a good thing the wedding was on Sunday afternoon and not the Saturday! I can't thank Oscar enough for his dedication to the cause......He's seriously a champ. There's a whole heap of photo's still uploading atm, so I'll come back and stick some in this post, as well as put the link to the wedding album, which has some of the better pics of the day itself. Wedding Album Link Oh yeah, and Adam, i haven't forgotten........I've got some pics of DeTomato in wedding guise uploading atm as well, so I'll put them in the correct thread later tonite/sometime tomorrow. cheers dF

  18. that'd be excellent adam. look out for my 'creative remodelling' on the front of the green hardtop!
  19. there was a crown there on wednesday....which i imagine is the same one bamboo mentioned. if anyone is heading to centre road, can they acquire me a fuel filler cap from one of the hardtops?! can pay in beer or cash. it appears someone has flogged the cap from my partners hardtop....didn't even notice until tonite :( it been gone for about two weeks i reckon. cheers dF
