<retracted>. Just get some multi grips, and screw the pistons out. I had a similar issue when I did my brake conversion, and a mechanic mate had a look at it, and fixed it in 5 minutes - by screwing the piston out a little bit...
-
He's getting it painted - similar to that X-trail sandy colour...I figured I'd hijack it, cos he has internet troubles atm...and its a cool-ish night tonight, so might not get on...hehe
-
When the brakes were installed, was the handbrake adjusted at the caliper end? aka, you need to screw the actual piston out, to get the right clearance, so when the handbrake is pulled up, the brakes clasp.

OOOOO Shiny!!! how was the drive man?

that shouldn't matter too much. so long as the black wire from the coil is connected to the loom, you should be right. the A/C amplifier and the coil lead run in parallel to the dash... aka. A/C Amp____ Coil________}--------------------------------------------------Dash
-
hmmm, ok. there should be 1 black wire within the loom (i think the one on the angle - the right plug). if you don't have this (surprising), it wont work. if you do, get an engine analyser onto it, because this'll be the the signal wire for the tacho... this wire connects to the a/c amplifier (assuming a/c installed) and the ignition coil. If there is one within the loom, and you're not getting a signal, check the output on the coil/or the continuity of the wire.

Turth be told, after doing my Drive to survive course about 4 years ago, I've been driving with my mirrors set up like this. It's kind of useful on the freeway, hwere you can see the car 2 lanes over. But outside of that, there's no real benefit or detraction in normal driving. I still do head checks too, and they're not exaclty telling you not to do them, just how to use the mirrors more effectively.
-
It should just plug in, using the same plugs. you shouldn't have to run any extra wiring for that one...
-
how did it compare to the original engine? also, what sort of fuel pump did you use, and where did you locate it - no flooding issues/fuel consumption increase?
-
howd that go? low pressure pump?
-
ok...i've had a look at doing something similar very recently - and have encountered a few issues. 1) the injector ports would need to be filled up 2) there is no allowance for the mechanical fuel pump on the side of the block. out side of that, the gearbox will bolt up fine, as will the exhaust manifold. a way around it is to skim the fc head, and put it on the fe bottom end (or a standard 4a bottom end) so all mounts will be identical. That would at least get you around any issues with efi conversion.

Ah, You're getting youreself confused between the 3 different fashes that came out in the e9x model corollas. the one you have has the door light and no tacho. then theres the midrange spec which has 4 guages and is the same shape/has same plugs so is a quite simple cross over. then theres the sx dash, which has 7 dials, and stretches the entire raised part of the dash... Thats the one that MYSTIK was refering too, and the one which has the different shaped Tacho to the mid range/base model.

ROUND 4 - Vs. Socranos' -WE WON!!! (And Never Popped His Cherry)- 4 a side is what lay ahead of us at the start of Round 4. With the Starting lineup missing key players Sonya (Soyboy) and Adam, Jo (JoJo when she eventually gets on), Paul, Dave (Never), and Andrew (Me) took to the court, raring to get a win after last Sunday's, errr, "issues". Play was open and running for the first few minutes as the teams felt each other out. Clearly, with Jo running as always, Paul moving the ball forward constantly, and Dave, dazzling everyone with his ball skills (he can play soccer too :P), we gained most of the possession, and quickly Dave put away our first goal of the match. More tooing and frowing between the teams, and the addition of a second girl a side, kept the game moving solidly. The fans (thats right, we have a cheer squad now - once again, thank you All Nations) were being vocal and keeping spirits up. Unfortunatley, a slight miss judgement  on my behalf, allowed a leveller to be scored. By this stage though, We were once again, holding up well in defence, and allowing players loose in our attacking zone. This lead to the ever tenacious Jo to score (her second for the season.) A sub for Dave, allowed Adam on the scene - whom imediately had an impact on the scoreboard. Score - 3-1. Late in the first half, another small misjudgement on my behalf allowed them to claw back a much needed goal, and at the end of the half, the lead was 1 goal. The Second half saw Paul taking over the position of goalie, Jo, Sonya, Adam, and Dave running the ball up the court. by this time however, fatigue was starting to set in on both teams allowed one of their players to pretty much sit in front of the goals. Jo and Sonya ran hard at any contested ball, and generally came out on top with possession (body size does not intimidate these women!) However, 3 good strikes from Adam, were denied by what seems to be the best goalie we've come across to date - plucking, and blocking anything within a dull bullsroar of going in - and hats off to him too...unfortuantely for us, these opportunities, combined with the striker camping at our end, allowed a couple of goals to be scored... A Goalie sub halway into the half, allowed Paul to have a sit down, and a drink in the warm, humid conditions. End to end and a fast paced ball game caused a few slip-ups by the other team, allowing Dave another couple of shots on goal, converting his second (Dave got excited), and allowed a level ball game once agian. another freak goal, that was partially deflected by yours truly, kept the Socranos' ahead by a goal again. However the ever tenacious attack of Sonya, Jo, and Adam, combined to give Jo her second goal of the match, which was a point celebrated even more by the fact that it was against Super Goalie. With the clock counting down, and a look of shear despiration and exhaustion on the opponents faces, shots on our goal were coming think and fast, with one glorious save (apparently...ask Adam) off one of the more spirited women, on the other team, saved certain defeat. A quick turn around, and a little space afforded Adam, to convert again after 3467 fail attempts already that game (that goalie was good). with the Buzzer sounding, the final score, 6-5 gave the sweet, sweet taste of victory, that we will surely have to strive for again. MVP (official) was Adam, However No one could dispute Jo's 2 Goals. Goals - Dave (never) 2 Jo (JoJo) 2 Adam 2

Unfortunately, no. the actual shape of the cluster is different - where the standard one has the cut-out for the engine lights at the bottom, the SX one is pretty much flat, as the lights are in the middle top of the dash. its easy enough to change to complete cluster, and the wring loom for the stereo, is long enough to be directed to the lower part of the dash, where all you need to do is find a pocket/cupholders to mount underneath... Outside of that, the tacho works fine - just is calibrated differently to the CSI one, due to increased range of operation... I'll try and get some picks up later...

Its only illegal unless you get caught...hmmm, judgement day draws near...

HAHAHAHA - Maybe Wednesday... (SOMEONE BRING A CAMERA!)

Hehe, fair enough - a good case for defining body roll then? its not exactly a huge length of road by measure of say Marysville to Warburton, but its still pretty fun

HOORAY - lets hope they get over themselves before then, then...:P

ROUND 3 - Vs. Killer Bee's -BLOOD BATH- Round 3 saw the High Rollas battling the Killer Bee's in what turned out to be a no-holding back procession of hard hitting, heated verbal stouches, and what eventually turned out to be a 6-4 loss. The first half looked promising, with star striker Adam drawing first blood. Keen dribbling from Dave (Never), and key efforts from Sonya (SoyBoy) and Heidi kept the opposing goalie busy. Down the other end, good defence, and a few solid saves (including 1 penalty) kept the team scoreless till the 10th minute mark, where a loose ball mid pitch was struck into an open goal. From then on, the play heated up, with physical and verbal aggression the specials of the day. Another Adam goal saw the score head to 1-2 High Rollas way, however, this was quickly levelled, and 1 up'd by the seemingly fired up men of the Killer Bee's. Half time saw the score 3-2. The second half continued much like the latter part of the 1st. Keen running from Andrew (Blink Kid Seeks), in combination with a tenacious Sonya, and our Ringers, kept play moving quickly. Boot to Shin contact, left Heidi (one of our female ringers) hobbling off the court - to take no further art in the game. A quick leveller from Adam, drew some unsportsmanlike behaviour from the opposing goalie, kicking the ball into Adam's head - which just so happened to be missed by the Ump. This (fair enough too) brought a response from Adam - this seen by the ref, and a Yellow card was drawn for bad sportsmanlike behaviour. A sever moot point of this game was the apparent jovial nature of the Umpire towards the opposing team (not to sound biased or hard done by), which further heightened our resolve to battle on and win. However, more dubious decisions, some sloppiness around defence due to fatigue, left opportunities for the KB's - which taken advantage of. With Dave and Adam, constantly being shutdown by 3 man defensive attacks, we weren't allowed the space needed to get a clear shot. With the score 5-3, Adam, battling on with a sore right arm, we managed to restore some hope with another goal. But too little too late - the game ending in defeat with some extremely promising signs for the future. Overall, a Great team effort. Adam - 4 Goals, Dave, Sonya and Andrew (BKS) - Great Running, passing, dribbling Andrew (Bowler) and Paul - Great Saves and of course a HUGE thanks to "All Nations" for providing us with some fantastic girls, whom without, we would certainly have lost by more...
