I keep spotting a red KE38 (I think) wagon in morning traffic along Ballarat Road. Rolling on standard steelies, with roof racks & looks clean as! Unfortunately I spotted them after accidentaly cutting them off once or twice, I'd like to extend my apologies for that.

Cars Coffee & Donuts - Complete 2012 Calendar

Any Westies up for meeting up at the Todd Road Shell Servo (Inbound) at about 8am? Was planning on going via Beaconsfield Parade. :) -
WMMH - Confirming my booking for 4 laps of the Nürburgring Nordschleife in a racecar (albeit a Suzuki Swift) in August. :D

Cool, a lack of hands-on work would drive me batty! I wasn't having a dig at engineers either, I could've phrased that post better. The failure analysis would be, umm, interesting with underground mining equipment (thinking more the size of the things rather than the safety implications).

We Need Your Help For The New Race Track In Wagga Wagga
carbonboy replied to Rob 5000's topic in Motorsport
I'm curious, what are the "greenies" objecting to exactly? I'm all for motorsport complexes, but if it means destroying the habitats of native &/or endangered species to build it or negligence/poor design causing future damage (i.e fluid runoff from the track), then no, I'm not in support of it. :no2: -
It would be good, would make me feel a little less silly about framing my Certificate II in Engineering. I am curious, as engineers (mech &/or civil), do you just design things or do you build them too?

Speaking for myself, if my tongue was any further in my cheek I'd have a hole in the side of my face. :rolls: Strip away the sarcasm/jokes & roughly translated it meant: Congratulations, I'm jealous, you lucky bugger.

Hello shiny! :) Going to customise the strut tower plastics or not have them? Or re-do the boot?

Newbie, Looking For Advice (1988 Ae82)

Drivers comfort is important, passengers, not so much. ;) 1. - What ke70dave & towe001 said, the engine block & cylinder head are about all that are the same (either 4AC or 4AGE), as well as little things like bulbs, fuses. Wiring looms would differ too. 2. - I doubt it very much, though why would you want to put an older cars front suspension into the rear of a newer car? There's no guarantee of the top hats fitting/being able to be swapped over, nor the KE70 shocks mounting to the AE82 rear hub. I don't know the size of KE70 front brakes, but AE82 TC's have 242mm solid rear discs. That & they're a different stud pattern (4 x 114.3mm vs 4 x 100mm, pretty sure the centre bore size is different as well? 54mm for AE82's) Mayyyyyybe. Edit: Speeling -

Yep, just holes, TC models have nuts welded to the other side of that metal skin. :) Don't forget fuel tank, wiring loom, dash cluster, interior... :P I'll take you up on that bet & I'll raise you I can do it cheaper than you can. :D Edit: They have nuts, not bolts. -
I'm sure I'd find this more amusing if I'd actually heard the song they're taking the pi$$ out of, but still funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRVPyw_BorY

It's nice to see some people with a RWD car share the same opinion as me re: 'stance' etc. Saves me going on another rant. :laff: I'm all for nice wheels, lowered height etc, but when things start going past functional, they've lost me. I.e you're running 295-wide tyres yet only 30mm of that is touching the road surface, may as well run motorbike tyres. :blinks:

4Age 16V Rocker Covers Won't Budge! Help
carbonboy replied to AE82CS's topic in AExx Corolla Discussion
If you're going to be replacing the cam cover gaskets, a knife blade could be used to seperate them from the head/covers. Be careful not scratch the mating surfaces though! -
That's the spirit! :y: Politely requesting that you film this. :laff:

One day I'll get a Tamiya, spent a lot of time recently looking through their range & well, ......... Yes please. I finished rebuilding the off-road truck out of all my spares & since I had a spare motor laying around....

WGMG - The Victorian State Government. :glare: Are pulling the pin on a large amount of funding for the TAFE system & there's murmurs of a HECS style setup, my licencing night school just got a whole lot more expensive. As if things weren't all over the place enough! This is with an underfunded school system, a healthcare system up the creek & they seem to be more preoccupied with spending $1.4 billion on a public transport ticket system (that's still not working 100%) & who knows how much on a bloody giant ferris wheel that's still not operating ~18 months after it was meant to open.

Toyota Car Club of Australia (Victoria) is a good one, I've just renewed my membership. Just be aware that there are conditions regarding Club Registration (which are perfectly reasonable I think), information can be found on the website. :) http://www.tccav.org.au

So, not much has changed from the 1600 to the S15?
-
Maybe the member .T. ?
-
Finish roof then strip & prime underbody. No bogging for underbody so should be pretty quick to do, just going to go a chassis/underbody black.
-
Quite right, it could be a KE70 motor.
-
Maybe trackdays would be more fun if you stopped blowing headgaskets? :P Semi's up for grabs? Fishtank bro, with neons. :D

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watt-peak http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_locomotive_class_WP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_peace So much for the Google search idea... It might help you to find out not only that, but a few other things regarding swapping engines.
-
Nope, what's wp?

Care to run that bit past me again? :hmm: New motor as in another K engine, not a new motor as in another type (4A, 3S, SR etc). To have a forced induction engine, there'd need to be a car complied for Australia with said forced induction engine, don't think so in this case. To do that LEGALLY in Victoria is going to cost you an engineers report, not to mention brakes & suspension to cope. Edit: Since when have VicRoads been 'alright' with adding forced induction to engines that never had it?
