  1. That's "O" for awesome right? ;)
  2. The pliers, screwdrivers & knife I understand, but the hammer?
  3. Gotta love the new guys, they get all so excited! :laff: Well, I did when I first got here... I did usually read the date of the last post in the thread though.
  4. Niether are some of us, but that doesn't stop us from posting it up! :laff: Umm, yell at one of the head-honchos of the forum for his car choice?... :no2: Pass thanks! It was a good read man, also nice to have something to look back on to remind yourself of "why am I doing this again?"
  5. I liked their hydrogen powered concept, pity that extracting pure hydrogen takes a lot of energy in the first place. :( Diesel rotary, I can hear the Wankel purists groaning already  I'm glad someone other than just me thought this... With additions of features like safety cells/impact absorption zones (nevermind GPS, Bluetooth, climate control, 26 airbags & electric everything), cars are of course going to increase in size &/or weight, but surely manufacturers realise that there's other gains to be had other than just increasing the efficiency of the engine. As Top Gear proved with the Prius & the M3, the fuel economy figures are best-case scenario marketing numbers. If you drive a normally fuel efficient car like a Group B rally car, don't expect the fuel consumption figures to match up.
  6. Don't forget the fuel tank/pump, wiring loom, brakes & suspension that will need to go with said motor... Try several of these: Along with a lot of reading of whatever the search engine you use brings up.
  7. This may sound like a silly question, but when you set the timing, did you have the 'check engine' connector terminals bridged? If not, this'll throw your timing settings out the window. :)
  8. WGMG - Getting to trade school, we're at the stage of working at our own pace & I have everything I need to get cracking. Get told "you can't do that","this isn't ready yet" & end up sitting in a classroom for 2 hours with the teacher talking $h1t just so I can get my name ticked off the roll... I'm not here to hear what your weekend was like FFS!
  9. You cop it, you wear it, you give it back come service/repair time or paying the bill for said service/repair. ;)
  10. Cheers mate, I'll be trying!
  11. Don't post your work up on the internet? :P
  12. but it lokks hectik as ey cuz? *removes tongue from cheek* :lolcry:
  13. Interesting, I'd always been under the impression they were concerned about drive-by/induction noise levels. Cheers. :y: All well & good for those with metal air filter assemblies, but for those of us with plastic items, what the heck are they gonna do? Melt? Yup...& some people actually voted for them...
  14. Do it, do it! You know you whant to... Get that big lump of Ford ***** out of the way so you can work on a real car! Looking forward to your results mate! Edit: ***** = metal :P
  15. Scuff, wash & more bog! :) While that's curing, spot-fill some pinholes & some scratches from where I was careless. ;) First round of sanding, shaped with coarse grit sandpaper. After second round of sanding, with a finer grit sandpaper. Ooh ooh, we have primer! :D We also have some spray putty on the bits that needed a little more meat, just for good measure! Damn, my fingers/hands are seriously sore now! :(
  16. WMMH - When you get a continuous run of awesome song after awesome song on the radio. Is of great assistance in maintaining motivation levels when you're up working on the car & it's...uhh...what time is it?
  17. ^^^ :sob: Edit: Sorry to hear that man.
  18. Cracked the triple digit mark first time out, nice! :y: Keen to see E85 + more boost figures. :) As well as how long the standard clutch lasts.
  19. I did, it was soo awesome! Like Lego, a lot more fun when you added the electric motors. :D Me too, guilty of still playing with it occasionally as well... Still have all my Matchbox cars & clip-together road sections for them as well.
  20. Edit: Shoot... Sorry, I'm not in Tassie! If I was, there'd be an AE9x owner getting a hand putting a gearbox back in! I've been here before, except with an AE82. :) If you think getting it out by yourself is fun, I recommend getting someone to help you put it back in! The project car has had some more bog applied & more primer has been purchased. Blue Thing has had Cordia Turbo front seats (comfy!)& AE9x rear seats installed, speaker wiring fixed & finally had a service.
  21. Only 20mins? You got in quick! They have no idea when it comes to questions like that, they try but fail, horribly.
  22. Aawwww.... but I wants me a fully forged cylinder head RIGHT NOW!!! :P Spool rods are good value for money, GZE pistons are (semi?) forged rather than cast & have ceramic coated crowns from the factory so are a good substitute if Arias etc are too pricey. Shop around before outlaying cash! Google, eBay, your local parts store, whatever...don't be afraid to find out& compare prices. You may not save thousands, but you might save enough to get some piston rings or bearings as well & stay inside how much you budgeted. :)
  23. Sounds good, but after several experiences with them I've determined they are not the kind of people I'd drink with, even if they're buying! Wall St...better started padding the sidewalks again!
  24. Dear god...good to see it running but atm it sounds like a cross between a drop-saw & a whipper snipper! :o *Waiting for weekend *
