    Spotted

SPOTTED:5:20pm same corolla as above. Black KE30. plates SHY-???. have seen it before near there on the way to work exept this was about a month ago. deffiantly written off boot squashed up behind the back seat. if the owner frequents this forum I have one word... DAMN. CHEERS Ryan
  3. Hey mate, sorry to hear the bad news. Havent seen this car but i'll be keepin an eye out for it. probably just joyriders, if so its likely it will befound just hope to hell someone hasnt killed it. if i do see it i'll be striaght on the blower to hamish and go open up a can of whoopass to who evers driving :S CHEERS Ryan
  4. if theres oil around the base of the air filter it will be the vent on the rocker cover thats infront of the PCV valve. had the same problem with my ute the base of the oilfilter was dripping with oil. problem with the PCV valve is that its closed under low vacum meaning when the engine is being revved, producing more blowby the PCV shuts. with nowhere to got the gasses escape via the hose from rocker cover to airfilter housing. the positioning of the hose is also part of the problem, being placed directly over the rockers which are thrashin away sprayin oil everywhere the gasses coming up through the head from the crankcase pick up the oil spray and carry it to where it can go no further which is the air filter. what id do is put a mini airfilter on the rocker cover or plumb a hose from the rocker cover to a catch can then another hose form the catch can back to the base of the air filter.or plumb the PCV valve into the catch can aswel as the first vent and plumb it all back to where the PCV plumbs in below the carb. the way i see it is that any positive pressure in the crank case is bad (some racers use vacum pumes for negative pressure to make more power) so vent as much as you can and should keep goin forever. 5. guess i'll fill in the blanks then, #2 is directly behind #1 and #3 is somewhere between #2 and #4. only a guess tho. CHEERS Ryan
  6. RT104 corona wheels. mine are 14x6. was running 195 before with no problem. assumin KP starlets have the 114.3x4 stud pattern they will be a straight swap. for a geez have a look at my ke25 thread in rides and projects. pretty easy to pick up from the wreckers too. CHEERS Ryan
  7. I'm assuming this is a standard bearing turbo? is the oil return on the turbo facing downwards? ive heard that if the oil can't drain freely out of the turbo this can lead to blowing oil seals. I THINK. CHEERS Ryan
  8. WOOOOO, the 25 now has a engine filling the bay again, and its a 4k too. went and had a look tonight and its all good. just need to reconnect a wire on the starter and it should be reday to run. hopefully all running and sweet before i leave. and when i come back i'll be ready to cruise with some other SA rolla clubbers. I also have a new clutch so i might be able to accelerate in 3rd and 4th gear. keeping up with busses will be new to me :D take that barinas :poke: CHEERS Ryan
  9. Not sayin theres problems doing it. just seems like if your not doin it for power why do it at all sorta attitude. everyone has their own reasons for doing things. Shane'0 this is after all your thread, you take control back. nothing but support and comments from me. CHEERS Ryan
  10. now your takin what I'm sayin out of contest... most people wouldnt bother hottin up a 3k but this guy wanted to and he succeded. Now Shane'0 has give you a reason on why he wants to upright his K engine? what are we still wearing nappies? let him do it. good on him for trying at least hes gettin off his ass and doing somethin. Good on ya shane. hope ya get it finished and i'll be the first to come have a look. CHEERS Ryan
  11. what i mean is: that hot upright 3k is cool and different. Shane'O tryin to be different by doing something outta the norm (4A-GE). goin by what people have said in this thread doing something different is bad or something. CHEERS Ryan
  12. Who cares thats coool and different, just what most people think is bad or something CHEERS Ryan
  13. ENOUGH SAID^^^^^^^^^^ not really, me wanty 3k me want 3k lol. NOW, enough said CHEERS Ryan
  14. OR maybe they wanna think outta the square, be different. how do u think people like Chip Foose, Boyd Coddington, Dr Felix Wankel, Einstien, Henry Ford, Alexander Graham Bell, etc. etc. became famous?? BECAUSE THEY DID THINGS THEIR OWN WAY, and achieved something. gotta agree with shane there, Look at how many people have gone and put a 4A-GE into a older rolla and then look at how many people have gone and uprighted the good ol K engine. some people are happy on what they are givin and want to improve what they have. I though that this was a corolla forum not a bag the shit out of people what wanna do somethin different to their corolla forum? i agree that is not the best motor out there, no motor with a V/E under 100 will ever be a master piece. stop baggin people that are tryin to do something with what they have. THANK YOU MATE, if noone gives a shit which obviously u don't, why the f@$k are u posting in this thread anyway? maybe some people don't have the resources to do this kind of stuf themselves. Shanes already said hes not doing it for a power boost hes said it over and over. Last thing get it right i do belive its an upright 4K thread not 3k. END OF RANT, thank you for listening boys and girls. CHEERS Ryan
  15. i knew that just talkin bout the gearbox side of things
  16. weld the 30deg wedge straight onto the std cross member then people can still use their own crossmembers without forkin out for new ones. then mount the rubber to the wedge and all will be sweet. CHEERS Ryan
  17. aye, was 16 and already driving alone, vic P plate laws can rot in hell. we can drive V8's and hot 6's here, SA doesnt look like a bad place to live now ay? OH btw, Bianca, nice 55 seen this friday night and its a minta ride. keep up the good work. CHEERS Ryan
  18. if you look at the original mounts they're different anyway, the drivers side mount has a flat mount to block surface and the passenger side has the bottom mount boss further out than the top mount boss. as Medicine Man said above theres a rubber block thats bloted between the engine mount and the mount on the cross member. CHEERS Ryan
  19. yea do a step by step on how u do it id be interested for sure. g/l with it all. are those mounst fully soild with no rubber dampers at all? CHEERS Ryan
  20. one of those custom cross members could be made very easily, so easy even i could do it :D 2 30deg wedges and a piece with the appropriate holes welded together then the complete wedge welded to a cross member= easy. CHEERS Ryan
  21. KE25 is ENGINELESS.... got the old 3k out thismorning, disconnected everthing and lifted the engine out using an ovehead block and tackle. looked under the engine whileit was sitting above the engine bay and to my shock was the passenger side engine mount. the rubber had sheared of of the engine side of the mount. so i swapped things like thermostat housings manifolds and put the fan onto the 4k. the mate of mine who has the workshop i used said him and his mechanic will find a set of mounts and put the 4k in while I'm at work. so i'll be driving a commy till the mounts and engine are in. hopefully not for long as the commy is auto. CHEERS Ryan
  22. went down to u pull it at lonsdale to look for a set of K enginge mounts and found 2 paseos. 1 had a console that look like people had put screw drivers thru it. and saw one on my way out had a look had full interior including overrated console, got it out it was only $22. problem was i borrowed my mates scooter as the 25 had no engine in it as the passenger side engine mount broke. so i rode from u pull it to my mates workshop in reynella balancing the console between my feet. things i'll do to get a console that fits ay. :D CHEERS Ryan
  23. hey exhumed, as above. wanna part with one of the original stocky steelies? it aint a paddock basher unless its rolling on 3 wheels. :D CHEERS Ryan
  24. Scott, they have been redrilled as they have two stud patterns and i know the guy that did it at work for one of the previous owners. i can get pics of them but they have been redrilled. its running KE30 brakes modified to suit the 110pcd hubs and is running the standard jap import front loader. you wouldnt happen to have any of the wheels u mentioned would you?? even 2 matching ones would be ok CHEERS Ryan
  25. Hi people, this is an update i hoped not to be wrting. I had a bit of a bingle in the rolla ;(, nothing serious, just buckled my rear passenger wheel. was going round a corner I'm familiar with the back swung out and it spun 180 degrees and hit a small gutter. the gutter was the only thing stopping me from hitting the sign post that was 2 feet away from the passenger door when i stopped, no joke. had a look at the skid marks and looks like id gone into a 4 wheel slide, so i reckon the front tyres let go and it was over steer heaven from then on. rollin round with 2x 14" wheels with mid profiles 1x 14" with full profile tyre and 1x 13" spare with full profile. all wheels match except for the spare so it doesnt look to bad but need another RT104 steely or 4x wheels to suit ke2# stud pattern. I've heard escort wheels fit up good is this true? CHEERS Ryan
