What you do is set it up so when the motor reaches a certain RPM, it triggers the clutch to switch off on the supercharger and a butterfly to redirect the inlet charge away from the supercharger and into a turbo only circuit. Something to that effect anyway.

I'd say thats because those cars at those speeds would be almost uncontrollable, especially the power delivery, hence the canning of Group B. I have no research to back that up by the way, thats just what I'm thinking.
