Most coilovers are illegal, because of height adjustment can go under 100mm and something to do with the amount of travel that they reduce from standard?? Pretty sure but might want to ring transport or and engineer first.

Decent amount of weight to be lost in interior gotten rid of about 100kgs in the T18 already and still no where near done stripping stuff out.

Looks like will be a very good build! hope the budget isn't too tight though, shit gets expensive!

If its going to get tracked just get rid of any interior thats in there thats not needed, get it as light as possible whatever is free like stripping everything out.

new update got just bought a toyota celsior $1200 for the whole car and will sell off some bits and pieces so should only end up costing about $600 for an engine, loom, ecu, throttle cable, radiator, and alot of other little bits and pieces. If anyone wants any parts or knows of anyone who wants any parts let me know, thanks.

Its been done before in a MX83 I think cressida and in ke70's and ae86 so shouldn't be too hard, most expensive part would be if you go manual probably cost around 2k+ depending on if you go a W series or R series. Obviously will need all custom mounts and the usual conversion costs I am currently trying to get one for a conversion in my T18.

they do the parts department do all the time, door skins, exhausts, they threw out a TRD head gasket for a 20v that someone from work ordered and never paid for.

Toyota throws out so many parts, anything that has been there for 2 years gets thrown out doesn't matter what it is.

ye, that will stop a small timer but if they really want the car that won't stop them they would just tow it or just don't care about it, are there any alarms too that will keep going even if the battery is disconnected?

ye don't get the one built by monkeys brakes are shit although would have been replaced now with aftermarket/jap stuff. Another thing there is one at my work that comes in every few months with over 400,000kms on it has lots of oil leaks but still runs strong, auto too.

I would say to study, but if you do need to work on it don't work on it in a rush if you have a deadline for a show make sure you have plenty of time to finish it in your own time and at your own pace, I love working on my car alot but when I need to get something done in a rush thats when you start to get the shits and start doing dodgy stuff. I take my time and still end up doing things quickly, as a older mechanic at work said to me you don't need to work quick, just work smart don't backtrack and take stuff off or do something that doesn't need to be done stuff like that. So just take YOUR time to do it, learn and most of all enjoy the whole process the ups and downs.

Some conversions in someones back yard are quite good, (not most but some) I will be doing mine in a shed though better to keep out of the heat in summer :)
