Someone on here will know, I am currently waiting a couple of months to see if my contract at work is renewed then I will be undergoing a 1UZ conversion on my T18. Just going to strip the shell bare then cut out any metal not needed that is not structural and put in a full cage tied to front struts, side intrusion bars, ect, ect. Still hoping to get it to around 800KG but would be happy with 900, might be cutting out the rear floor pan and make up a new one with a fuel cell. Getting it so light I can keep the 1uz pretty much standard and still have plenty of power for the weight of the car.

I think getting a license should have to do a course like you have to do to get your motorbike P's (In QLD at least you do) Some sort of decent length course in the car that you will be driving, learn how to control it if you spin out, emergency braking, all the basics! I have leaned alot when taking the T18 out to QR on track its lots of LEGAL fun and you learn too, just like last night was driving home after work with wt roads (just after midnight) and someone pulled out in front of me (I had a green light) and relised i wouldn't be able to stop in time so pulled on the hand brake like I would have on the track and spun out but missed the car, then the other driver got out and apologized. Obviously would have been a different story if it was the middle of the day and there where other people on the road, but there wasn't and it saved my car and possibly his life/also his car.

They sound better than v-tec engines IMO, wouldn't be too hard to fit one, custom mounts, drive shafts + the usual stuff that goes with engine conversions.

Depends on how big your cage is, if you can weld or know someone who can its not too hard to make one yourself thats what I will be doing with my car, just make a dummy pipe for the bends and take the tube somewhere to get bent then go for your life, also depends on how much you take out of the car as to how much extra it might add, one of my mates built a VK commodore track car striped down the whole shell and removed every unnecessary item/thing got it down to 1100kg with 49/51 weight distribution, in an old commodore with a fairly comprehensive cage.

Yes it is still out the back! Apparently someone said they where going to take it to the wreckers? No idea really, might ask. Excited for an update!

I got these in the mail today http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/170702508026?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 And they fit quite well actually on my T18 minor trimming to look perfect but actually quite well made.

These things sound very raspy with the stock exhaust, do you think yours will be different? Although never heard one with an exhaust on it.

So not much help so far, for the front all AE86 stuff will bolt in, corona lower control arms give you more camber as well. you can get some kind of extra lock rack ends and tie rod ends off ebay, look pretty good don't know anyone who has used them though but will probably be buying some for myself soon. For the rear diff you can get one from a T18 or a JDM AE86 with disc brakes and an LSD, but expect to pay around 1k for a complete diff. Just search man and you will find all your answers pretty quickly.

So its been a while, time for a update. Lowered the front more and removed the rear seats and stripped out the rear half of the car. Weighed it at work tonight and weighed in at about 950 with me in it and full tank of fuel. Also got some new adjustable LCA's and some AJPS modified steering arms. Also very keen on an engine conversion, not too sure what though would love to go 1UZ but would like to register it again when I am on my opens, so was thinking maybe CA18 or SR20, maybe even a rotor but unsure if I could go turbo rotor legally.

Have you looked into the ones on ebay.
-
I will be doing the conversion soon, I have been told to use a KE70 steering column and steering shaft (all 1 piece I think? never had a look. I have other goodies to go in mine during the conversion as well.
-
Are you going to get rid of the steering box while you have everything else out? just need a ke70 crossmember with ta22 mounts apparently. Although I have a AE71 crossmember at home and it looks identical to the std one just with rack mounts.

Did you get new sensors or from wreckers?

People Wanting To Check Out Your Rolla??

Did he like it or? -
Same with the rear of my T18 as well for some odd reason.

Pretty sure you could get spacers made up, I had some 4x100 wheels on the back of my car and had spacers that changed the stud pattern from 4x114 to 4x100. Either that or there are a lot of wheel manufacturers that sell wheels blank and then get them done in whatever stud pattern you want.

no pictures?

175/55r15's***** won't need a roll then haha.
-
Those wheels look very nice, would look better a bit lower though I recon. Might see if I can see what my car looks like with wheels like this. Cause my tyres on these 13's are about 70mm smaller rolling diameter than a 195/50 R15.

White is done often because it is easy to get good results doing a home type job, gunmetal would look alright wouldn't mind doing my car in it one day.
-
Ye well they feel a lot better than my old setup which had new tokico inserts with 8kg springs, and have a few mates that have them and there not bad.
-
Ive had the exact same BC coilovers in my car for a year and they are still fine (touch wood) and my mate has had them in his S13 which was driven on the street for a year and is now a track car, and on his S15 it has blown the shocks and they are some Japanese brand may have even been bilstien. With calipers I got mine of ebay USA way cheaper than you will pay in australia.
