  1. BC make cheapish NEW coilovers for ae86, there $750 and they are base height adjustable too.
  2. Cut out 3 times the area of the rust.
  3. All the 2az's are gone, went a while ago. It might be easy to just do like I said, use a alternator from a commodore or something common and cheap then just modify the bracket on it (which should have the adjuster with the bracket) modifying it shouldn't be much more than drilling an extra hole or cut and weld.
  4. Give me a yell if I could come over one day when your working on it to have a look, if it's alright.
  5. Are you getting rid of PS and A/c? or just one or the other? if you get rid of both you could find an alternator with an adjuster with a thread and mount it where the A/C used to be. Would work good and have enough contact on all the pulleys. Edit: or could put an alternator where the PS was, either way it looks like it would work alright.
  6. Looks alright, not something I would own personally though but can appreciate the work that would have gone into it to do it all properly.
  7. If you do this there will be a few people that would also like to do the same thing and import some starlets!
  8. Did you get new points and condenser as well? Have you tested the resistance of the plug leads? Your compression test showed it was bad what else do expect? Honestly asking for help on a forum will be of some help but your best of speaking to someone who knows what there talking about in person, do you know anyone who is a mechanic not just a mate that did something similar to his car?
  9. My 3t blows the dipstick out sometimes only when you rev it 6k or higher but just pressure, think I may need a new pcv.
  10. Get a piece of garden hose and put it up to the edge of the carb and see if they all sound similar, you will no what I mean when you do it. and a compression test! I got about 175PSI on my 3t, all standard internals.
  11. GT40 are alright, otherwise have a look on the us sites for race upgrade or whatever they have.
  12. Yep like above almost no one who does RW will pass a car with something so simple wrong, you have done all the conversion properly and mod plated and you want to be dodgy with something that would be cheap to take to an auto elec.
  13. The solex carbs are alright but like said above harder to find parts for and not the best carb available, I had them on my car jetted for a slightly bored and worked 2TG and they where OK on my 3T just gave them a tune by ear with a piece of hose and it ran alright but kept getting an air leak because of the manifold I had on there so just f@$ked them off and put a simple single 38/38 weber on.
  14. Wow certainly done some researching there! Don't think you will be too interested in revving over 15000rpm?
  15. Mine had corrosion on the terminals and was doing all funny stuff, just cleaned up the connections and all good! Probably not a problem, but the tank on mine (ke70 should be the same) the first half goes quickly then last half lasts ages, just the design on the tank that causes that.
  16. I will have some pictures tomorrow morning of my T18 with 13x8-13 and 0 offset wheels, should look similar to what a ke70 would look like with them.
  17. Was just having a joke, Those Shakotan's look pretty good though if you where going to get some, I was looking at the 15x9-10s maybe for when I get around to an engine swap, but for the price I got my mk2's for it would be better to keep them. But my mate got a set of weds tri spokes for about $800 delivered, 14x7.5 and 14x8.
  18. Don't buy the rotas if you want to fit in with the JDM crowd, haha. Maybe spend a little bit more and get some nice 14" SSR's or something, I got my set of MK2's 13x8 NEG 13 offset for about just under 1k delivered.
  19. Ive machined rotors at work with that much left on them! but they where pretty good to begin with, that seems about right price wise, should have given it a go yourself or just pay me to do it :) haha.
  20. celica ones bolt straight in, I had the supergay bucket seats and there crap, they sit way too high on the standard rails.
  21. ra60 celica are more comfy and more hold to them.
  22. I am a bit over stretching so I will be putting 205/60 on my 13x8s should give a little bit of stretch and grip very well, the other 8's are for track when drifting.
  23. ill check it out at work tomorrow.
  24. Ah ok so teddy didn't give anyone those 2az's he took, got it ;) Not trying to change your mind Just saying maybe try to see what problems they may have had regarding starters or other rwd conversion parts. Looks like it would be an awesome conversion and the price you said you got that new engine for, much cheaper than any 4age! even just something for a daily that has good drivability, fuel economy, and reliability in stock form. I could see if I can photocopy/ get a repair manual from work for you to photocopy.
  25. ^^^^^^ yep I have 2 models of SSR mk2 one are older original ones that use shank wheel nuts and others are a newer tyre that use normal wheel nuts, they are both SSR mk2's both same size and width 13x8, except the older ones have more to seat the bead onto on the inside so even the 165/70 13 was not very hard to fit on just put on and get it sitting on one side nice and tight and just pull up the other side till it seals and done. The newer ones are a bit harder though less area to grab on to.
